Hairdryer out of store warranty
My hairdryer had stopped working after 13 months, out of store warranty. I contacted Remington customer support. I sent photos of my product and was kindly offered free of charge replacement. As my hairdryer was discontinued I could choose any product to the same value. This arrived after 4 days. Excellent customer service, emails professional and courteous.

Terrible Experience for a shaver foil
Terrible. Ordered replacement foil, was sent the wrong one. 2 weeks later still no resolution they want me to pay the postage costs to send it back in the original packaging. You have to destroy the packaging to open it. They take a week to answer any email. Will have to issue a chargeback.
Absolute garbage.
Just bought a new shaver and, what a big disappointment it is. Doesn't do the job very well and it makes your face sore for ages. Wasn't a cheap one either. Company doesn't care anymore.

Bought a R7 shaver,and now faulty just outside2 yr warranty,however, I had registered for an extra warranty,which I showed them.
It showed who I bought it from and price,and acknowledgementfeom them it was registered for extra yr.
They insisted on a receipt which I dod not need as I had proof of purchase in the registration document I had. Then they offered a replacement,but said the R7 was no longer available. Thay asked me to choose from a number of models up to a value of 84 euros.
However,everytime I picked somthing they said it wasn't available,and would notbe restocked , they also offered me Russel Hobbs appliances, again, I picked a food processor,and again it was not available,and would not bw restocked There was one razor I could have,but was cheaper than the one that had broken on me,but was not interested iin it.out of curiosity,I asked Remington since they were not restocking,if they were going out of business,they said this wasn't true. I felt remington were acting like a magician doing a card trick on me to pick a card,any card,but they had the finger on the card they were 'choosing' me to pick. They're a joke,if they're not restocking,as they admit,then they must be going out of business. Don't buy from them,customer setvice is dreadful,and you'll do better elswhere. Disgraceful carry on.

Dreadful
Dreadful. Ordered replacement foil, was sent the wrong one. After some hurdles they said they would send out correct one within 3-5 working days - not yet arrived after that time. They take your money but nothing gets done. Update still waiting after another 2 weeks. Basically they take your money and dont deliver the goods. Now I have to claim back on debit cards, goods services not received.

Unlawful operations, scamming customers of their money
This company is operating against consumer rights laws and scamming people out of their money.
I purchased a pair of straightners and received them and noticed they were faulty. The two plates weren't level, they touched at the top but prevented the rest of the plates touching together so there was a huge gap and hair would just fall through and not straighten.
The first thing I noticed was the site has no returns policy or way of requesting a return which is against the law. I had to go through the internet to find a customer service email address. When I requested instructions on how to return the faulty straightners an agent told me I had to provide proof of the issue (they asked for photos, videos, detailed description etc). Bear in mind under the consumer rights act i had to right to change my mind and return these, without providing videos and explanations as to my reasoning.
Long story short it took me 3 weeks, multiple emails of arguements with their poor customer service team and up to 5 days between each email reply for them to agree to accept their faulty straightners back, but they told me i had to pay for the return myself (again - this is against the law and they are legally obligated to accept returns free of charge). When I pointed out the law, they said these straightners are supposed to have a large gap between the plates and the plates were supposed to be mis-aligned and not fit together properly as per their design and for this reason they dont consider them faulty and aren't obligated to refund me for my return - even though the straightners were very obviously faulty and did not work! I will be reporting them to trading standards because im shocked the company are still operating under illegal practices and scamming customers out of money for faulty and damaged items. Steer clear of this company, and if you have to buy something, use Amazon or argos as they actually accept returns!

Substandard quality
10 months ago Remington sent me a replacement for a Rem Barba Beard Trimmer. My then existing one had failed, and wouldn't charge. After 10 months their replacement also failed to store charge. Unacceptable - defective or substandard workmanship in my opinion. I have owned a total of 3 now, all have failed prematurely.
Remington refused to replace. As a goodwill gesture they offered me a 30% reduction on a new one.
Currently on Remington website price is 27GBP. (Argos and Amazon same price also).
However, Remington will only take the 30% off the full MRP of 32.99, even though I pointed out that it is currently 27GBP.
I have wasted enough time with Remington and their goods, a look at where these items are made tells you all you need to know.
I wouldn't use Remington again.
Remington RX5 Head Shaver
I brought a Remington RX5 head shaver from boots which has stopped working. I have had several emails from remington and fulfilled every request, however they are refusing to honour the warranty (2years plus an additional year upon registration) because I cant produce the original receipt. Even though I have a bank statement showing the purchase from boots and remington having details of the registration they are refusing to help. I will never purchase a remington product again as they are a company who are keen to take your money, but woefully inadequate when it comes to resolving issues with faulty products. In a nutshell they simply don't care. In my experience they will avoid replacements and refunds at any cost. BEWARE!!

Recently purchased the remington barbar beard trimmer, I've used remington for years but although the barbar is ok it won't work unless charged, I assumed that plugging it in would give it power to work but obviously not which can be frustrating especially if it dies mid shave, I had an older model that worked when plugged in so I wouldn't recommend the barbar series

Remington Head Shavers
I have bought 2 remington head shavers in the past year. Both are simple to clean by taking the head off that detaches very simply. However both had similar problems with one of the razor heads falling apart when cleaning. Second time round, I contacted customer services as it had only been one month and 18 days before it fell apart. Their response was it is not covered under their warranty. Absolute b*ll**k*.
Really poor service from a supposedly big company in the market. Money is not the issue here. The trust of a company you buy from because of their name in the market. I will never be buying anything to do with Remington ever again. Keep well away from this shabby, amateurish, useless bunch imbeciles.

They sent me the wrong item (straightners instead of curlers which were half the price)
So difficult to get hold of anyone and an absolute lack of care / customer service. So disheartening and disappointing when I specifically told them it was a Christmas gift. I went out of my way to follow their instruction and return the incorrect item which was an inconvenience to myself and then I sent proof and have heard nothing since. So now I am not going to be receiving the curlers in time for Christmas when I told them it was a gift. It was delivered to me on the 14th December so they had so much time to sort it for me in time for Christmas yet refused / ignored me and just made me rush to return it for nothing.
Absolute shambles of an experience. It was their mistake and they have absolutely no sense of urgency to fix the situation.

I made the mistake of being impressed by the shaver booklet stating that Remington started in New York.
The one I bought, the Style Series Foil Shaver, was made in China and never provided me with a good
shave while making a horrendous noise.
I decided to recycle it at the tip after a week of trying to shave with it. and had to as the idiotic, poorly designed system for removing the cutters and then putting them back in the shaver, fell to bits when I tried to put it back after a clean. I pressed a silly little object which then took off and I lost the part that held it in.
Fortunately I kept my old Phillips shaver which is a far better design all round.

I recently bought a hair straightener and so far it has been working great! Just it kind of smells like plastic so hoping that will wear off.
