''No repair no fee'' - joke!!

''No repair no fee'' - hahaha! Don't be fooled! Refused to refund when I sent a broken console and a week later they sent me back a broken console!!! Had to constantly hasle to get any answers from them. Do not use this company!!!! Emailed their director with various points about their poor service and he couldn't be bothered to take the time to respond.

An Excellent Repair Service - better than you get with specialist camera shops in Bristol

I sent in my Sony DSC T200 for a replacement battery door. They quoted me a very reasonable price and did inform me that the replacement part would be second-hand as this particular part is no longer available as the camera is fairly old.

I have now had the camera returned to me in perfect condition. It was returned to me via a courier and very safely packaged.

I will definitely be using this company again.

Like so many people I am concerned …

Like so many people I am concerned about sending my goods off to an internet company, especially one I had not heard of, but after reading the reviews here and on facebook I took the plunge. I received what I thought was a good price to repair my Canon 100-400 Mk 2 lens, so I sent it off, received an email informing that it had arrived safely, after a week or so I had not heard any more ,so sent off an email saying that I had forgot to inform them that I was going on Holiday in just four working days and was hoping to take it with me ,Camera Repairs Direct replied straight away that although the parts required were not in yet They were confident that I would receive my lens within time.On the Monday They first emailed me and then phoned me to state that the lens was ready for dispatch and were concerned as I was going on holiday on the Wednesday, they needed to dispatch it that morning I paid over the phone .delivery was by DPD tracked who gave me a one hour delivery slot (why can't all carriers do this and not make us wait all day.) it was like having a trusted friend back, lens repaired as expected, works as good as new. I am delighted, will definitely use Camera Repair Direct again

Absolutely useless

I sent my Olympus OM10 to this company with a stuck shutter.
Having phoned and asked specifically if they could fix the problem, I paid £80 for them to repair the camera.
The website promises a "10 day turnaround", 3 weeks later I had still heard nothing so, emailing them I got a reply saying that they had contacted Olympus and it was a common fault, the repair would cost £258!!!
Where did the extra £180 come from?
Well I can only guess that is what Olympus were charging to fix it and they were gleaning A further £80 off the top.
I asked for the camera to be returned and a refund to be given.
I was given just £39 back.
I found an Olympus specialist (should have gone to them in the first place) who knew the problem well and quoted a "maximum of £105 if we have to replace the shutter, but that is the worst case scenario".
Absolutely useless.
Avoid like the plague.

Hopeless and unhelpful

The engineer took 2 weeks to arrive and had never worked on a SMEG cooker before. 2 hrs later he told me that repaircare had ordered wrong parts. This was a month ago, despite 2 reminders they have not come up with parts, and as I paid £135 in advance there is very little I can do about it.

An absolute disgrace

Quoted £239 for a MacBook Air screen replacement. Apparently they have a no fix no fee policy (with an asterisk).

After two days , the company said it was in fact £450. I asked for a refund , which they gave me, minus £40 assessment fee. Total rip off, cowboys.

Receptionists unknowledgeable and unhelpful- no answers or know how.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Cheap repairs that do not last!

Used Service last year to repair laser in PS3, excellent. Used service again as PS3 required motherboard rework this year. initially paid £39.99. I waited over a week no contact so requested update. Told it was in need of extra parts and had to pay another £35. Another 2 weeks was told wrong parts sent so still waiting. Eventually returned after a Month to find PS3 went wrong with original fault after 10 minutes of being turned on. Courier re-collected and PS3 returned after 3 days allegedly fixed! No wrong died after half hour max. Contacted Repairs-Direct, they told me it needed a New motherboard and would cost more than a New PS3 hence I found another place to take a look at it and here is what they said, " your machine has been butchered, there are screws missing to hold the motherboard in place which will cause damage. The rework is inferior and materials used cheap. No New parts have been placed in the machine" This company fixed my PS3 for £30 and fixed it well as it is now in good working order. I contacted Repairs-Direct for a refund of £35, they read my e-mail and ignored it!
