Good communication and great service

Having moved in to our house I discovered that the Rangemaster cooker had several issues. I struggled to find anyone to service it because it is dual fuel. I contacted Rangemaster. The lady on the phone was great; I was pulling my hair out at this point and she explained everything, sent me an instruction manual in pdf and organised everything I needed. The engineer from Repairtech was fab. He explained everything that he was doing and ordered the spare parts we needed. He came back to fit everything and I now have a cooker that works. I am very impressed with the service I received. Thank you.

Avoid

Was away when they came to service the rangemaster. Gave it a clean bill of health yet the light not fixed in main oven and secondary oven doesn’t ignite.
What’s the point?
Their reply doesn’t include the phone call I made on return from holiday asking these self same points. Sadly having two kids and a job doesn’t lend itself to chasing for the second time of asking. Just do the job and if not get it fixed on first time of asking. My recent email asking for address on my phone call had the same self-satisfied tone.
Will go to a local specialist or try myself via YouTube

Dear Tom F,

We are surprised that you have suddenly felt the need to leave a 1* review, almost two years after your Appliance Service was carried out. Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to highlight a few mistruths in said review, and fortunately we do not need to rely on memory, but rather the detailed notes on our job booking system.

In 2024, you requested a General Appliance Service and reported no faults with your Rangemaster. Our Engineer duly attended to your property on 13th June 2024, and reported “The appliance was serviced. No faults were identified and the appliance is operating correctly”.

We must note that you made no further contact with Repairtech Services (UK) Ltd until Monday 30th March 2026 when you; submitted this 1* review and sent a follow-up email. We do find it strange that you have now decided to report new issues to us almost two years later, whilst also appearing to blame the Appliance Service from 2024, for your current faults. It is peculiar to say the least, and we must stress that 2-years is ample time for faults to appear on your appliance, especially if ‘you are away’ often and not maintaining the appliance.

Your review states that the date of your experience was 19th June 2025. That is incorrect. To confirm we only have one job logged on our system for you, and it is dated 31st May 2024. We would be happy to supply you with a copy of the Job Sheet for your own confirmation.

We confirm receipt of your email, and an appropriate response will be forthcoming within 5-working days.

Rangemaster cooker service

Booked a service via Rangemaster and an engineer arrived via RepairTech. The engineer provided make updates throughout the day regarding his ETA. When the engineer arrived he was courteous, polite and very efficient and even managed to fix another small problem we had with the hob whilst he was here. Probably paid over the odds for the whole service but wanted peace of mind that the service was conducted by a reputable person. Overall pleased with the result.

Rangemaster use Repairtech what a rip off

I was contacted by Repairtech via Rangemaster and found that this service is a waste of time and money. They were very unclear up front how much they will actually charge you for a repair and after paying £168 for an engineer to visit and review the required repairs, they sent another estimate of almost £500, which I wasn’t expecting for a couple of simple fixes on handles that fell off and new spring for the oven catch. What a waste of time and money. If Repairtech could have been more up front about the cost of replacement parts I wouldn’t have agreed to the initial call out and I could have put the £168 towards a more up front and value for money service. Don’t use them, what a rip off.

Dear Bcameron,

We were surprised to receive your 1* Review and must argue the majority of its’ content. Please be assured that we only made contact with you, following your submission of a Request for Service Call via the Rangemaster Website. Please note, we do not contact Customers unless they have requested our Services directly and as such your comment that we made contact with you is incorrect.

Following your request for a repair on your 12-year-old Rangemaster Induction Appliance, you were duly sent a Quote which detailed our Inspection Fee of £168.00. Please note, as your Appliance is over 9-years old you were quoted for an Inspection, this is in line with the parameters as set out by the Manufacturer and we can confirm that you were quoted correctly. The email detailing your initial quote also confirmed that once the Engineer had inspected your appliance, you would receive a follow-up quote detailing the required Parts, Return Labour and Postage. You duly accepted this Quote, accepted our T&Cs, made payment and subsequently a call-out was arranged with the Engineer. At no point did you query any costs or ask for any further information with regards to pricing or future quotations.

To address your statement that only a ‘simple fix’ was required, if that was the case then an Engineer would not have been required to attend. To reconfirm, you stated that your Appliance had four main faults; the oven door needs adjusting, handle fallen off, towel rail fallen off and the oven fan was noisy. Upon his attendance, the Engineer deemed that four different Parts were required to affect a full repair. For transparency, the required parts were a towel rail, oven door handle, towel rail studs and a door catch – all of which mirror your reported faults. We can confirm that these Parts are supplied by the Manufacturer and are genuine and authentic, yet we are still cheaper than other competitors.

From our investigation into your review, we are content that you were correctly informed throughout your discussions with Repairtech Services (UK) Ltd, but that in this instance, you were just not expecting such a costly figure for your many reported faults. We have made this assumption based on the fact that you asked us to keep your return visit quote open, whilst you shopped around for cheaper options.

The £168 is literally a call out charge…with no repairs

The £168 is literally a call out charge they did no work and have not bothered to call us back to discuss what I suspect is a mis-sale to my elderly mother. I wondered why they want you to pay in advance for a repair!

We did get a call back where they agreed with our complaint and then said it was closed - apparently we couldn't get any money back because we didn't complain before the engineer attended. So a perfect business choice for all you clairvoyants

However, you did receive our Recorded Message advising that our phone lines were currently busy. We have attempted to obtain your details via Trustpilot however, you have not responded to this request.

Range totally cut out

Our range totally cut out just after Christmas. Repairtech were very helpful on the phone, but it did take a couple of days to speak to an engineer. However the engineer did call when he said, and arrived as promised. He was able to carry out a fix without needing parts and checked the repair with technical support for our comfort. Thanks for giving us back our cooker!

Incredibly rude staff

Incredibly rude staff. I called simply to ask for clarification about how the service works and was made to feel as though this was unreasonable. I was told that it was "obviously not the right company for me," and one member of staff actually hung up on me just for asking about pre-payment. Very disappointing experience.

What went right!

What went right! Having contacted Repairtech in connection with our 25 year old Falcon Rangemaster with serial numbers, photos, age etc enquiring whether the cooker could be serviced or parts obtained we were told they could send out an engineer, 'the best and most knowledgeable' to assess it for £168. Unbeknownst to us our Range is 'obsolete' in their words, and they knew that before they sent out Luke.
What a con artist. He told us we could pretty much replace everything we wanted to replace then proceeded to try to pull out our Range from its nest at which point I started to get worried and told him to stop. He couldn't get it back and we had to get someone else in to reposition it. He left and no one got back to us. We had to phone the company again, Sam, at which point we were told our Range was 'obsolete'. My problem with this scenario is that they knew from the outset that my cooker was obsolete and parts were impossible to source yet sent out their engineer knowing full well they couldn't help us. What a rip off and highly unprofessional and a total waste of £168 for a 15 minute visit with nothing to show for it. Sadly, after many letters, they have not backed down and the customer is not right. Customer service is non existent and I would warn you against using these people. They are useless.
What really was the cherry on the cake was that I managed to source one part that they said was obsolete and they haven't even bothered to ask what that part is or where it can be obtained for future customers. I rest my case!

Dear Mrs de Kock,
We were very disappointed to read your review regarding your recent experience. As was explained to you by our Brand Manager following the engineer’s attendance, your appliance is an older Falcon model that pre-dates AGA Rangemaster manufacture. As such, there is no way of pre-determining the availability of parts without an engineer’s inspection and subsequent report to establish what parts are required as some are still available. Serial numbers and photographs are appreciated, but as the manufacturer of your appliance no longer exists, we have limited access to technical data. It is for this reason that we can only offer customers with older Falcon appliances an Inspection service, with the careful and respectful warning that should any parts be found to be no longer available, then the inspection service would be non-refundable. We have listened to the original call recordings between Mr De Kock and our team, and these points were discussed and explained prior to payment being taken.
In regards the engineer leaving your appliance out of situ, we are sorry to hear this and were only made aware following your emails to our manager, and at that point you had advised that it had now been moved back into position. Please be assured that had you mentioned this to a member of our team, we would have asked our engineer to re-attend and rectify.
To address your comment that you have sourced a part, we are aware that there are parts sites who claim to deal in old Falcon parts, but there is no way to confirm that such parts are genuine. These parts may be purchased at the customer’s discretion and risk, but if we were to supply parts which were found to be of a poor condition or quality, then this may lead to further disappointment, or damage to the appliance. We confirm that we did exhaust our suppliers to obtain the official parts required but unfortunately without success. Regrettably, a repair could not be completed in this case.

Excellent Service

A speedy, courteous and efficient service. I called Rangemaster initially to inquire about a safety check for our 23 year old Classic 90. With new safety measures for gas fuelled stoves, we weren't sure if it would pass safety standards today. One of our rings was producing soot and we had stopped using it, initially thinking we would have to purchase a new Rangemaster. The person I spoke to at Rangemaster discussed my options. The first being a check by a partner company to ascertain if the cooker was still safe to use. The second, a check plus repair if appropriate. We went for the latter. New parts fitted, seals around oven doors. Full m.o.t basically. For a few hundred pounds we can continue to use this beautiful and fully functional cooker! Saving at least 2k for the modern version upgrade. It would have been such a waste to send this cooker to the dump as due to modern safety standards, it could never be refitted into another home. So for anyone looking to get a safety check done on an old cooker, it's definitely worth while. Thank you Rangemaster. 😊

What a great experience. I contacted Repairtech about our very unusual expensive French cooker. Kate (customer service advisor) listened carefully and took trouble to find an engineer with the relevant experience. Jason attended very soon and was brilliant. He wasn’t going to leave till it was fixed. To my amazement he worked his magic and we are cooking with gas once again. Highly recommended.

Sadly, not a positive experience

Sadly I can't share in everyone else's positive reviews. The 4 week lead time I was told about is now beyond 10 weeks. Other than Kate (thank you Kate) no one else at the service desk has returned calls they promised. We are still waiting and I am having to chase daily.

7.10.25
We were always anticipating a long lead time for the fascia and never shared concerns about that. The four week lead time for the door (which you failed to mentioned in your reply post) and halting of it being delivered plus extremely poor communication is the main issue.

Dear Mr Taylor,
We were disappointed to read your 1-star review as we endeavour to accommodate our Customers as best as we can. We confirm our Engineer attended and advised of several parts required for your repair with one of them being the Facia Panel, which is a Cosmetic part of your cooker. A return visit quote was issued and you were made aware that there was a long lead time on the Facia due to having to be Manufactured to Order by Rangemaster. We supply an Estimated lead time as advised to us by Rangemaster but as you can appreciate, it is unfortunately beyond our control of when the part will be delivered to us. However, we are pleased to note that parts are now with the Engineer and as per your request an appointment for the completion of the job has been arranged for 09.10.25.
We do apologise that you have not been kept updated at all times as that is not our policy and we are grateful that you have shared your experience as your feedback, whilst disappointing, helps us improve our processes and provide a better service to our clients.

Took payment - no service! T&C incorrect.

I spoke with a rep on September 11th who insisted upon a £255 payment before arranging service of our range. Despite the T&C stating an engineer will be in touch within 1-2 business days, we have heard nothing from the engineer and I am back to chasing Repair Tech. T&C: Payment is taken in advance of the visit. Upon confirmation of receipt of payment, the Engineer will contact you within 1 - 2 working days to arrange the visit (Northern Ireland will be 2-3 working days.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointing experience thus far as it is always our intention to provide great customer service. Unfortunately, our Engineers were short staffed due to an Engineer injury, although this is no excuse and you should have been contacted.
We confirm that the Engineer did speak with you yesterday morning and has arranged your appointment, which was further confirmed by yourself via email. We sincerely apologise for the delay and hope you will be pleased once your Appliance Service has been carried out.
