I used to spend hours shredding the reams of confidential paper waste that my household generates. Being obsessed with security and the potential for 'wrong-doers' to take advantage of the personal information in waste, I knackered 3 (not cheap!) shredders in as many years and decided that there MUST be a viable alternative. Did my research, found Restore Datashred with good reviews and they have a base just around the corner from me in Southampton.

Ordered the five bag deal (which is restricted to a max of 6 months to collect) as this seemed the most economical option in terms of £/KG. The bags came in the post a few days later, are strong and really easy to use. Arranging collection was a breeze on their website.

I left the bags in a covered porch on the day. They collected without fuss and I received both a receipt and, several days later, a certificate of destruction.

Seriously, it's worth considering - you can dispose of all your household confidential waste in one annual exercise for a reasonable £60 (inc VAT). Cheaper and certainly less time / energy consuming than shredding (and of course replacing crappy shredders)!

when first ordered had wrong information and the email didn't come though right .but spoke to a lovely lady nikkie and she was really helpful and always keeping in touch so a very big thank to her .

Up to the delivery the service was great. Using the post code was a nightmare as the new mini bypass near West End cuts off Burnett Lane.

Great service from Restore Datashred who collected a few archive boxes of paperwork for shredding. Easy to use service and at a good price.

Excellent Service, always collect on time and will come out at short notice for adhoc collections, friendly staff always willing to help.

A great company to deal with. Reliable and efficient

Very efficient, office staff extremely helpful. Data picked up in timely fashion and subsequent paperwork swiftly dealt with. My only negative is with future collections due to the new bags received for next order. Smaller and paper - not nearly as strong and will increase cost of disposal as cant fit as much in.

I used this service about three years ago and was happy then so I did not bother to look elsewhere. They were very efficient throughout and it was good to receive an email confirming when my confidential waste had been destroyed.
Both members of staff involved, including the driver who collected my waste, were a pleasure to deal with.
