Our case was transferred to this firm after Terry Jones Solicitors went into liquidation. We had an initial conversation and meeting where a quote was discussed, but we never signed any terms of engagement or authorised work to proceed.
After chasing for updates and receiving no meaningful response for months, we were suddenly sent draft wills along with an invoice for over £1,000. We immediately made it clear that we did not wish to proceed.
Despite this, we are now receiving aggressive debt recovery letters, including references to legal action, for work we did not agree to or formally instruct.
Attempts to contact the firm by phone have been unsuccessful, and communication throughout has been extremely poor.
This situation has caused unnecessary stress and concern. We are now in the process of raising a formal complaint with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Based on our experience, I would strongly advise others to ensure they have clear written agreements in place before any work is carried out.
I paid money to this company for a will and power of attorney and with a 14 day cooling off period I cancelled the next day. Many emails and phone calls later I am still to receive the refund which is a significant amount of money. I rang them the other day to be told the finance dept had not had the request for refund through from the legal advisor. It is now over 4 weeks since they have had my money and am still waiting!! I would also say that the advisors pitch to get me to still go with them was right out of a sales room! I do not recommend this company at all
So slow and bad at communicating. This firm has yet to complete all needed legal work following the death of my father over 2 years ago. They are painfully slow and require chasing so many times to make any progress. But they'll be the first to chase for payment. I regret ever using them. I've had to raise two formal complaints.

For a firm supposedly handling legal documents they appear to have no idea of how to read Lasting Power of Attorney documents . I have phoned repeatedly and emailed but no one answers
Edit. Soon after posting this review they got back to me and apologised. So I hope future dealings will be more successful

Awful experience.
None qualified representative, not a solicitor a case handler. Asked to speak to a solicitor not put through to anyone qualified just the case handlers manager.
Wouldn’t take my call. Email and Alex Mason replies in 5 days. Ask for a solution to the matter. Have gone around and around in circles. Clearly Alex is not qualified. My mums estate was sent to this company from her high street solicitors no where near Derby! It’s about them making money for sure!!! Sounds like it’s more like a call centre! Very disgusted!! Don’t touch with a barge pole!

Right legal have failed to act in a timely manner on the three occasions I have requested important legal documents that they have held due to the trading cessation of Gotelee, Hadleigh, Suffolk
The will of a relative took approximately sixteen weeks, with an absolute lack of clarity and an absence of professionalism. This caused unnecessary distress at a time when I was grieving the loss of a loved one but needed the will for probate. They then took around five months to pass on house deeds to our solicitor.
My latest debacle has been to obtain my own original Will. Emails have not been answered, process for obtaining them has been unclear, instructions have been ignored, what should be a straight forward matter seems unbelievably clumsy due to lack of communication and what appears to be simple ineptitude. I would not recommend them at all.
My complaints have echoed those of others, it seems clear that as a company your platitudes are yet to translate into a more effective and efficient service.
Your document team appear incapable of fulfilling what should be a straightforward remit. So as a bare minimum I would expect them to assist with any requests for documents as that surely is what they are there for.

The person I spoke to was friendly, knowledgeable and spoke clearly, explaining all the steps required to obtain probate in a way I could understand. I felt confident I could trust their expertise.

My sister and I used Right Probate to sort out our father's probate & estate out having no appetite to do so ourselves esp given their pitch was that they would take all the stress out of dealing with the process.
Whilst they did a job they were expensive but our main issue was their client service was appalling save for one member of staff.
We had to chase to get answers and their standard reply even to get simple answers was 5 days.... some of the staff were rude and we had to wait over a month once the estate was settled to get the final distribution without any explanation as fo why and no apology....
It felt like we had to battle them to get things done....
Our advice is to avoid as all they did was add to the stress levels....

Our old will was transferred to the company in 2024 and as a result we were contacted to inform us. We were considering alterations and also Legal power of attorney and trust so after a video call we decided to use the company paying just short of £3000 for the work. This was started in January 2025. Since this time we have had numerous issues, the first draft of everything was so poor. Having pointed all the issues out we finally after numerous complaints received £950 refund after they accepted that the work was below that expected. Eventually after 12 months we received our amended wills. The rest of the work is still outstanding as I submit this review. A further complaint has been lodged and we await the result. We are now 14 months into the debacle and the lack of communication is really poor. Honestly I will say to anyone stay away from this company they are a shambles. If I could I would give them a minus.

My husband's and my experience virtually mirrors another reviewer's experience.
Our wills were lodged with a local solicitor who ceased trading with no prior notice. With no authority from us and no knowledge, our wills were transferred to Right Legal Group.
The first we heard of this was by letter on 20/10/25.
We didn't want to leave our wills with RL as it is nowhere near home and would have made things difficult in the event of our children needing them. Neither did we want to review our wills with RL.
These were both good decisions given what followed.
There then followed numerous phone calls and emails - all instigated by us. RL didn't follow anything up and only ever did anything once we contacted them.
The one exception to this was the most recent interaction with Jess who, on 28/1/26 requested our wills from storage and sent them to us on 30/1. We now have them in our possession.
I am just glad they weren't needed in the interim and that we weren't engaging with any more complex business with the company as other reviewers have been.

So so poor. It take a ‘certain’ type of service to have such an extremely high percentage of terrible reviews ?! 🤨

Currently using the company to act on my behalf as executor of my late step mother’s estate and it has been a shambles from the start. First lost death certificate between my local office and derby I had to obtain another one and send at my cost. Put wrong amount in to probate for the amount of money in the bank account of over £40,000 leading me to believe there was more money than we actually had. Hope this mistake is being reflected in my final invoice. Lack of communication when you ring always to busy to talk, take over a week to respond to emails and then only because you ring to prompt them this is holding up distribution of the estate to beneficiaries. Requested to pay part of equity loan as advised that this would stop the interest which it didn’t and the amount we requested was reduced on payment and I wasn’t even told only found out on the sale of the property. I raised complaints twice but it only gets passed to the person dealing with you case. Hope now property sale completed that they will move quickly to distribute the estate. Requested an interim statement of account 3 months ago still waiting. For £9,000 fee I could have done a better job myself. Should have a compensation package

I can't put zero stars unfortunately. We are coming up to 4 years - yes 4 years - of my friend's will not being sorted. It's taken 4 years to sell his flat, which is still in the "process of the sale". I have put in complaints to their complaints department, the letter they sent back had 17 - yes 17 - spelling mistakes/incorrect information.
Unbelievable, I'm lost for words. Complaints department to not put your usual call us on this, there is no point.

What an appalling experience we are going through with the probate team. Thousands of pounds have been taken from our relative’s estate with no invoices supplied despite repeated requests over 6 months. We’ve asked for ledgers and confirmation of funds transfers but nothing has been forthcoming.
We’re consistently told work has been done and find out it hasn’t, even though Right Probate have taken the funds from the estate.
Correspondence isn’t followed up, requiring our bereaved family to seek updates and repeat requests for the same information. Issues are raised and nothing is resolved. Weeks drag on into months and there’s no proactive contact. It’s frankly exhausting and distressing. Then you’re passed on to someone else and the carousel begins again.
I’ve been holding off publishing a review but we’ve got our third complaint in now, after another change of personnel and a request for us to update them on what’s outstanding. And nobody is taking my phone calls, so…🤷♀️

Right Probate should rebrand themselves Wrong Probate.
They were made the professional executors on my late step father’s will. It’s now been 2.5 years since he died - and they still haven’t finished the job. The estate is very simple. My mother died 6 months ago after a lengthy illness. She did not see a penny from this estate before she died.
I cannot understand what has taken so long.
DO NOT hire this company!!! A 1 star review is too good for them.

I would give this company no stars if the option were there!
They take advantage of vulnerable individuals and encourage them to appoint Right Probate as legal executors. The company did this with a member of my family advising her they could assist as there was a trust involved. The cost was high for very little work.
Probate took 21 months to finally come through!
They do not communicate with you and make a very stressful time following a bereavement that much harder.
There is no empathy.
Do not use this company.
I do not know where they are getting the reviews they show on the website and appear to be peddling misinformation!
