Slow processing of web orders

Slow to process orders

I have had a web order sitting on status Order Submitted to Web Site for one week. Others on website MGExp had registered similar complaints.

Our driving season is short enough without losing days to inactive suppliers. Their competitors are much quicker to ship.

poor service attitude

Lousy car spares supplier! Can’t judge their spares but they are totally inflexible when it comes to changes to orders. overpriced when it comes to international shipping and very rude personnel. moreover they really lack technical knowledge (did not even know that sealed-beam RR Classic were not sold here). it‘s a waste of time and money to do business with them. Famous Four is 100 times better for Range Rover spares. i‘m sure they will answer here and tell everyone that i‘m wrong since they are always right! Best regards, Thomas

Out of the blue

Of the 8 items ordered via our website on the 23rd October 7 were shipped out, leaving this genuine Land Rover part on back order. Land Rover UK finally supplied us with the part 30th April and we sent it on to you carriage free. When you contacted us to complain, we had already shipped the part , so we credited you £10 as an apology for the delay in providing the part and also arranged collection and a refund of the item upon it's return.

Range Rover L322 alloy wheels load rating

In general been happy with the products received over the years for my old Range Rover L322 4.2SC.
But will never shop at the site again, purchased a set of alloy wheels for the car. Homepage clearly states suitable for Range Rover 3 2002-2009 (L322).
Unfortunately the wheels were not true when received, balancing not wort mentioning added more than 160g, but even worse not rated for the weight of the L322, each wheel only rated for 665kg. Wheels been used for less than 100km, have been scrapped.
Rimmer Bros was approached, not for a refund, but only to get the wheels suitability updated on the homepage to say not for the L322. Negative feedback, in other words the company does not care about the safety at all. Wheels still listed on the homepage as suitable for a L322, more than 3 weeks after my request.

We contacted our supplier and he provided a copy of the Test Report for the wheels, which shows them rated at 1050Kg. We have added a copy of the Test Report to our website listing, it can be viewed here https://rimmerbros.com/ItemFiles/Manuals/HST_test_report.jpg The wheels are suitable for use on a Range Rover 3 2002-2099 L322 and we remain confident in the product we are selling.

Great service at great prices!!

Can't fault the staff here - very knowledgeable!! - willing to help with the added bonus of great customer service offering a drink after a 2 hour drive whilst they gathered the Montego/ MG ZS/ZR parts I required - very well priced as it's all genuine old MG/Rover/BL stock - didn't catch the name of the guy that served me but he did an excellent job - hope he sees this - will definitely be using in the future!!

Extortionate delivery costs

A must I guess for Rover and other car owners but jeez their prices inc postage can be extortionate.
Just bought some spray paint. £13.32 became £25.52 at checkout. The item was £15.92 inc VAT so almost £10 in postage costs. Has got to be the most expensive company in the UK for small items.

We can not send spray paint by post, the Royal Mail list it as a prohibited item.

See https://www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/uk-what-can-i-send .

We show both a yellow warning triangle on every spray paint listing on our website and the following wording :-
"Restricted Item Due to the hazardous nature of this item, it cannot be exported. We can ONLY ship via UPS Carrier to England, Scotland & Wales, mainland destinations only - NO ISLANDS. ) If this item is added to an order which is to be exported, or the destination is a UK island, it will be deleted from the order, or the order will be cancelled at our discretion. This item CANNOT be sent by air or via the Royal Mail. A Minimum Carriage Charge of £7.95 will apply. If a mail shipping option is chosen at checkout, it will be automatically upgraded to carrier and charged accordingly, or the order will be cancelled at our discretion. "

We understand that specialist courier delivery is expensive however we believe we are clear about the minimum delivery costs and the reasoning behind them when it comes to spray paint.

Customer Service Representative and Company 100%

I have been a customer for over 2 years now and have always been very satisfied with the quality and price of the parts for my Freelander.
I live in Ukraine and the parts always arrive quickly...
I deal with a Customer Service Representative named Emily Ingall and she always responds quickly to my emails and is an EXCELLENT Customer Service Representative.... I give her 100% in customer service and the company 100% for service.
I will continue to use this company for as long as I own my Land Rover.
I appreciate all what Emily and her company does for me and my Freelander....

Great quality parts

Great quality parts, fair prices and lots of choice combined with helpful, friendly service. The guys on the phone really know their car parts and they offered alternative parts at various price points so I could choose original parts or aftermarket ones.

Website a bit miss leading order some…

Website a bit miss leading order some bolts for freelander 2 hadn’t been dispatched so sent a email on the Monday asking when they would be dispatched and got a response on Tuesday
Thank you for your email.
These bolts were out of stock at the time of placing your order, they have gone onto backorder with our supplier and are due into stock within the next couple of days.
You will receive an email once the order has been dispatched.
Many thanks,
Emily
No where on website said they were out of stock they were then dispatched Thursday. Would have been nice if rimmerbros had of let me know this was out of stock.

Shipped an Alternator to Spain saved £600

Shipped me an Alternator to Spain for my TDV8 that had let me down whilst away for Xmas.
Right part, quick dispatch and £600 cheaper than down here!!
Shame Spanish couriers SEUR lost it for 6 days! But that was not their fault in any way.
Lesson to be learned. Do not use DPD to Spain. UPS of FEDEX.
DPD in Uk were extremely unhelpful. In Spain their number was cut off! Still all’s well that ends well and Rimmer Bros were excellent throughout.
Thanks Guys! I’m back on the road again £600 saved and an extra week in the sun! All good.

Never again

When the web picture of a rotor arm shows embossed letters LUCAS and numbers and is sold as genuine Land Rover, then you might expect to pay £19.87p. When it turns up in a Land Rover bag but matches exactly the aftermarket part being replaced - costing £3.64p, how would you expect a retailer to respond? If it is to take down the picture (evidence) and stone-wall your questions, then use this company. Money was refunded but I have now paid postage in both directions.
To Rimmer Bros. Read your own mission statement.

We supplied the current genuine Land Rover part , the image was taken some time ago and represented the product that Land Rover supplied at the time of the photograph. Sources of supply chosen by Land Rover are outside of our control and as Land Rover did not change the part number itself, only their source, we could not have known that they had moved away from the Lucas branded item. We do include a statement on our website that images of parts are indicative only and cannot be guaranteed to be an exact match to the item supplied for this very reason.

Remanufactured parts being Sold as "New OEM"

I recently Purchased a "OEM Starter Motor" from Rimmer Brothers for my P38 Range Rover. When it arrived the unit itself was clearly marked "remanufactured in Poland" I contaced Rimmer Brothers regarding this and they told me that "remanufactured" actually meant new! that it was a new part manufactured to OEM spec by a third party. The unit was a Valeo so I checked on there web site where it clearly states that their remanufactured starter motors are based on used units that they overhaul. Rimmer Brothers still refused to agree that they had supplied me an actual "Remanufacured Part" insisting it was "New" even though I did not ask for a refund (although i would not have bought the part had it been marketed as remanufactured), only that they should clarify the descriptions on their web site and admit they had misrepresented the product. So Beware Rimmer Brothers are clearly not afraid of mssrepresentation in order to get your business.
This is a shame as I have had 10 years of pretty good service from them. Never again!!

Rimmer Bros profit margins !!!!

I needed to replace the clutch 'master and slave' cylinders on my Triumph Vitesse. On pricing the items with Rimmer Bros on line, I found that the cost for both parts would have been about £150 (EXCLUDING POSTAGE!!).
It turned out to be cheaper for me to get 'Anglian Triumph' of Ditchingham, Norfolk, to actually supply and fit both parts.
Bearing in mind that their 'reasonable' labour charge was £70. The total cost of the job, including vat was only £138.
So what on earth is the 'profit margin' up at 'Rimmer Bros' ?????

Hi,

We offer 3 different price points on Vitesse Clutch Master Cylinders, aftermarket at £36, TRW brand at £71.94 and Girling Brand at £90. With the Slave Cylinder we offer a 1600cc one at £27.90 and a 2 Litre one at £35.40.

If you purchased the aftermarket Master Cylinder and the 1600 Slave cylinder the price would be £63.90 plus delivery.

If you wanted the most expensive Girling Master Cylinder and the 2 litre Slave the price would still have been only £125.40, plus delivery, so we are not sure where you got the £150 price from?

Did Anglian offer you a choice of Master Cylinders, did they fit the Aftermarket , TRW or Girling one ?

This is the best company I have dealt…

This is the best company I have dealt with EVER . They run a modern company but with old school values . NOTHING is to much trouble and they take the time to source the parts you need . I've been ringing them a fair bit the last 2 weeks to get bits for my wifes aged but mint Rover Metro and they have been a great source of knowledge throughout .

Items are very well packaged and always arrived the day after ordering ...perfect . I really cant praise this company enough , Top work :)

Best supplier I have worked with

Best supplier I have worked with. I am in the US and ordered over $3000 worth of body panels, gearbox parts, gaskets, and trim. The entire order was filled accurately and timely. There was one part that was not available (aluminum valve cover) and I was promptly notified and given the option of shipping without the part or waiting for the back order to be filled. All of my parts arrived quickly and in flawless condition including six body panels. The packaging was amazing considering the trip they went on. Every part was there and some very high quality parts compared to what is available in the US. The service and quality are worth dealing with a company 5000 miles away. Its too bad I had to deal with DHL.

was terrible service -find another supplier

since I placed my last review about rimmer bro I have been in contact with one of the managers. he could not have been more helpful. he was apologetic and quite helpful. he said he would do to try to put thing right, and true to his word every thing arrived just now at no extra charge. why does have to be that we can not get the service we pay for unless we make a fuss? anyway thank you Andrew, or was it Chris, for putting things right

No service at all.

Placed two seperate orders on the first of May. Rimmer bros packed both orders together as one, even though i paid twice for shipping. One half from each order is missing. I send an email three days ago and still no answer. Can not get through on the phone the few times I tried and if I try to start a chat it says the operator is gone. Now I am missing parts for two cars and only silence from Rimmer bros.
Not what I would call a serius retailer. I will warn everybody in the danish mg rover club against this company.

I`M NEVER USING THEM AGAIN...EVER!!!

I`M NEVER USING THEM AGAIN...EVER!!!
Phoned their parts department described the door handle with the model and year of manufacture. I was sent the wrong handle by whoever I paid. Phoned them again and they asked me to strip down to the offending part and take photos. Phoned them again after explaining what the problem was and they end up accusing me of ordering the wrong door handle! I tried to explain that their chap recommended the handle that was sent. All this is leading up to it being my fault, therefore to return at my expense. I hung up after I was accused of ordering over the internet for the third time.
The second part turned up after I spoke to a different expert and he asked for the chassis number...the first chap didn`t ask this!
There`s plenty out there happy for the custom with a great, helpful and knowledgeable service.

I don`t want to spend my day off arguing with liars.
If your system says I ordered over the internet then it`s been edited to do so.

Dear Mr Shane Jones, we are very sorry that you are unhappy, we can not help you with the fact that you placed an order via our website for a door handle for your Land Rover, and chose the wrong part.
We will happily take it back, credit it or exchange it, but we simply can't make it fit your vehicle.
You can be adamant that you ordered via the phone, but you didn't, you used our website, we can tell this from our systems.
We are not unreasonable but if you hang up on us when we explain what went wrong there is very little we can do to correct the mistake that was made when you placed the order.
