It’s simplicity to use while giving the user the ability to get the highest level of audio and video using AI to get the most out of your time. Their powerful AI help take out what you don’t want and add in the best quality so the listeners hear and see studio level products. They have great online videos for every aspect of their products. You won’t be disappointed

I was using Descript before but switched over because Riverside offers more features, I noticed that Riverside maybe slightly less stable than Descript but overall Riverside is my choice, and I love the fact that they are always adding new features, that part is excited, they make my life easier

Riverside has been a fantastic tool to shoot great content at scale, with a team that's spread across the country. It's intuitive to use, the help and inspirational content is great, and the suggested cut-downs are always a good starting point.

Easy to use, it gets better nearly every week.

I use this platform to record a monthly podcast where I interview guests remotely. The recording itself usually works, but the last two shows had blank guest screens in a few places where their files didn’t upload or sync properly. Unfortunately, that meant content from those interviews was lost, and I had to edit around those sections to smooth out the conversation.

The editing experience has also been very frustrating. It’s buggy and slow, and it seems far too easy to lose your work. At first I thought the problem might be user error, so I created a very detailed workflow and followed it exactly. Despite that, I recently lost eight hours of editing because the editor didn’t save my file when I renamed it.

The AI features have not been useful for my workflow. For example, if you select the option to mute filler words, you can’t restore a specific instance where the AI mistakenly flags something as a filler word. If the AI gets it wrong, you’re forced to manually go through and handle the edits yourself.

Overall, the tools feel unfinished and unreliable. I’ve already spent months raising issues and providing feedback through chat support. At this point, I’m not interested in continuing to troubleshoot or provide detailed suggestions on how to fix the platform.

I’m now looking for alternatives.

At 50, I thought Podcasting was beyond me. Truly. Tech stuff has also been a challenge to say the least. But with Riverside, they have made tech a breeze. I am editing all my own podcasts, podcasting once a week, doing all my socials, working, being a mum and leading a seriously busy life. The podcast, well, that has added a clarity component, helping to consolidate all my learnings but teaching me new tricks too. Thank you buzzsprout team! Love what you do! Signed up for a free trial in February 2025. Was charged $288 USD annually with NO way to cancel the plan.

Tried to cancel. The cancel button shown in their own help documentation does literally NOT EXIST in the actual app. Not hidden... literally absent.

Clicking "Switch to Free" takes you to an article explaining what the free plan is. No button to switch. Clicking "Get Started" on the Free plan in the upgrade modal just redirects you to the dashboard. no plan change, no confirmation, nothing.

This isn't a bug. Every single exit point is deliberately broken. The cancel button in the UI doesn't match their own documentation. The free plan is technically listed but functionally unreachable.

I have screenshots of every step.

Currently disputing the charge with my bank and filing a complaint with the ACCC under Australian Consumer Law for misleading and deceptive conduct.

Launching a podcast is a big process, and choosing the right platform makes all the difference. Her Brave Story Podcast launched last year using Riverside.fm, and it has been such a supportive and reliable tool along the way.

Having one place to record, edit, and now host the podcast has simplified the workflow enormously. Episodes can be uploaded and distributed directly to platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, which makes reaching an audience much easier and more streamlined than expected.

The recording quality is excellent, especially with local recordings and separate audio and video tracks for remote conversations. It allows the focus to stay on the storytelling and the connection with guests rather than worrying about the technical side.

The platform itself feels intuitive and creative to work in, and the Riverside team has been incredibly helpful whenever support has been needed. Responses have always been timely and issues resolved quickly.

Grateful to have chosen Riverside to help bring this podcast to life and share meaningful conversations with the world.

Terrible service, terrible customer service, the site crashes, the recordings delete, the whole system is very basic for them to be charging what they do. I'm pissed. The amount of work to redo is insane.

Riverside has made the whole experience of guesting on and hosting podcasts. I was struggling with the complexities of other software, to the point I didn't really like the process of making podcasts, even though they are important to my business. I switched to Riverside after watching some YouTube tutorials and reviews. Great move! their platform is intuitive and user friendly. The AI co-pilot makes life really easy in terms of making the most of a session by creating audio, shorts etc. if you're thinking of making video or audio podcats, give it a try.

I was genuinely excited to try Riverside. I have been watching their tutorials on YouTube for a while and was keen to finally give it a go. Honestly, the experience has been terrible. I use it to stream on Twitch and Kick while also making local recordings. Kick is not supported natively, so I had to manually add the stream key, and even then nothing worked. I emailed them two days ago and received absolutely no response. No reply, no help, nothing.

I then tried using the local recording feature to make a reaction video, and that is where it became even more frustrating. Once the recording finished and I went into the editor, my camera footage was completely gone. There was no video of me at all, only the screen I was sharing. I tried everything possible to recover it, but it was impossible. All that time recording was wasted for nothing. It was genuinely infuriating.

I reached out to support again and once more received no response. Do not claim quick responses if you never get back to people. Based on my experience, I would genuinely suggest avoiding this software like a bad cold and using something far more user friendly, such as VEED.IO.

I've been using Riverside for my podcast for a year now and loving it. I started using Zoom to record remotely with my niece as we could get separate audio tracks. I was sceptical of Riverside at first but once I got used to the structure or studios and projects I was totally on board. Technical support has been fast and always helpful. Brilliant service

I love the experience with Riverside. It is intuitive and easy to use for a business owner like myself not being very techy, but willing to post daily with content.

As a production house, I need a reliable remote option for podcast and video content that is user-friendly for talent dialling in from desktop or mobile devices. Riverside provides that ease and flexibility while also capturing high-quality footage on separate tracks. Since moving to Riverside, I field fewer tech questions from talent during setup, and my editors spend less time on technical treatment of the audio track and more on making creative decisions since we have higher quality footage to work with.

Recording an important client webinar in advance of an event the following week and the main speakers full section across 3 videos did not upload to the riverside platform. There was no link to help them finish uploading which is what I expected to receive from support when I reached out. Instead, nothing. Three different people across 3 different days kept repeating 'rest assured we are investigating...'. It has been 5 days so far.

They couldn't give me a single hint as to whether it was possible to get this footage back. They couldn't give me a timeline. Absolutely nothing, just a very scripted answer. I had to ask 3 times what the complaints procedure was and they kept skirting around that also.

We had two occassions when the site shut down on us and we were unable to log in. Riverside do not offer 24 hour support nor weekend support. And even when we finally did have contact from support it did not help us - none of this is ok and cost us dearly in our business.

honestly, great ui and user experience. easy to use both for the host and the guest. i tried a couple other options for podcasts before settling on this one. makes recording professional-looking podcasts easy. i recently recorded an in-person episode, and discovered that riverside is also great at that! good job!

Huge lag in recordings, consistent issues with video (most recent episodes I did had the guest blurred, even though both internet connections were fine) and some bits that are recorded literally disappear in the editing section. Just terrible.
