Just had my delivery of Robins and Sons…
Just had my delivery of Robins and Sons chocolates which I always send as gifts to family and friends. I ordered a few of my favourites (mint crackle and orange crackle) and as usual they were delicious! Nut clusters also amazing and this year I tried the fruit and nut clusters which was a lovely surprise with almonds, orange and cranberries - a lovely bite of Christmas! This will definitely be on my order next year!

Disappointing
Was packed well snd came on time BUT very disappointing.
The actual 'egg' was a slice of chocolate for over £6 plus postage and package totalling £10+.
A bar of Chilli chocolate in a store retails at £1.60......do your homework before purchasing.

Dear Barry, I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed with our Letterbox Easter Egg Bars, we appreciate they differ from the usual High Street Easter Eggs which is why we go to considerable lengths to accurately describe our items:
1. Letterbox friendly - as the term suggests and wording included in each product listing specifies, the item is designed to fit through a letterbox (i.e. is flat).
2. The word ‘BAR’ is mentioned 3 times in the product listing (once in the title, and a further twice in the description).
3. We also include multiple product photographs for each product – item front on, in packaging, without packaging and side on, so all angles can be viewed.
With regard to value, yes, you can most certainly buy a supermarket bar of chocolate for less than our Easter bars, however just in the way you pay more for freshly baked artisan bread instead of a standard long life sliced loaf, or barista made coffee instead of coffee granules from a jar, the cost reflects quality over quantity:
1. Our bars are freshly made as opposed to supermarket bars that can be many months old before consumption which directly affects taste – fresh bread tastes better than week old bread, fresh chocolate also tastes much better than old.
2. We only use superior ingredients e.g. real fruit and plant oil extracts, not routinely used in mass produced chocolate because they’re more costly and don’t have a very long shelf life, they do however result in a superior flavour.
3. Also many High Street Easter Eggs give the appearance of being better value, not for the amount of chocolate they contain (solid bars often have the same amount of chocolate as hollow eggs), but for the additional packaging they come in e.g. plastic inserts, boxes and cardboard packaging. Our letterbox eggs are minimally packed to reduce waste because although these materials are recyclable, the carbon footprint arising from the collection / transport of bulky materials and emissions from recycling plants, means benefits aren't always clear cut, so we've tried to take the 'lesser of evils' approach and stick simply with less is more.
