He is committed to alternative dispute resolution, and he also works as an Adjudicator and Arbitrator. He was at the Bar before requalifying as a commercial Solicitor. Rob is an experienced mediator (65+ mediations, 90% settlement rate). An expert in commercial contracts, property disputes and construction projects, he also has wide experience of mediating a whole range of civil and commercial problems. Rob’s approach is based on seeking to understand each side’s positions, perspectives and interests. He helps each to achieve clarity, and to focus on the key issues. He prepares thoroughly and will always go the extra mile before and after the session to get the deal done. A fixed fee is always offered, and the service includes the opportunity to meet the Mediator pre-mediation online for an initial session to meet each other, learn the background to the dispute, and agree how the mediation will work. His main legal practice was in commercial, chancery and construction contract law. A former Senior Partner of a large regional law firm, he has a wide experience of business affairs and commercial issues as they affect corporates, partnerships, and business-people. He has mediated property and trusts disputes including TOLATA, development and option agreements, tenancy issues, partnership and farming matters, dilapidations, share dealing, agency, and social housing complaints. In construction law, he has acted on very many projects, large and small, and regularly sits as a Construction Adjudicator. He is also very experienced in professional liability claims and professional indemnity insurance matters, including many coverage disputes, and has acted both for insureds and for insurers and brokers. He also has a particular interest in inheritance and probate disputes.
