maybe not scam but bad

(about Affitto Privato San Giovanni) I did end up with a room right in San Giovanni, so I guess it's not a total scam. However, the landlord (which I was sharing the apartment with) was weird from the beginning. Didn't send me proper pictures in advance, changed the price and the move in date several times ... and ended up not paying back my deposit without telling me reasons. The apartment was in a bad condition: in the kitchen and bathroom almost everything was broken. The landlord was constantly staying at home and sort of following me around the place keeping an eye on me, which made me feel highly uncomfortable. I also noticed traces that she had entered my room several times while I was abscent.

Pros:
- I wasn't homeless for the 2 months I spent in Rome and the room was in fact quite spacious and in a nice old building

Cons:
- Including the broker's fee and the lost deposit, I payed a total of 1,750€ for my two months stay.
- I was under constant worry that I was getting ripped off or worse
