I wish I had read the other reviews before ordering. My experience is exactly the same as many others. Long delays from ordering to communication about delivery. When the order was finally delivered - it had some items missing, others had been substituted with no communication, and all were defrosted to the point where the packaging had collapsed and some contents were dripping through the bottom of the box. I received no response to my emails requesting refund. Thankfully, I had paid via PayPal, so raised a case via them, and they have confirmed that I will be receiving a refund today. I have been seeking an alternative to AllPlants, and this company looked good. What a shame.
The food arrived de-frosted
The food arrived de-frosted. The packaging was not sufficient. I have been trying to contact Root Kitchen via email, social media, the number on the website and via the chat message. NOTHING!!! No reply to ANYTHING! I would like a refund or a new box of frozen food please? It all looked amazing so we are super disappointed.
Unethical company
As so many comments state, there is a very long wait for any activity from this company - money taken 28th July, delivered 8 August.
When order did eventually arrive everything had defrosted and the cardboard box was saturated and dripping wet.
It did not help that DPD just dumped delivery on doorstep and ran away.
Boxes inside were broken and there was rice scattered about. I took pictures and sent them, but I have not heard a word.
Didn't think to check reviews before ordering. And it goes without saying that this is the first and last time.
These people have a big problem.

My meals were supposed to be delivered early last week. They have not arrived and what is more is that when I have reached out about this via email, Facebook messenger and WhatsApp I have had absolutely no response. From the reviews it's clear I'm not the only person.
Particularly disappointed as this was supposed to be a gift to my friends during a busy period of their lives.
If this is received please can you send me a full refund.
Such an upsetting experience
Such an upsetting experience. I ordered from root kitchen as I used to use All Plants (who I also left a very positive review for on this forum). All Plants were great; so I sought a similar solution when they ceased operating and discovered root kitchen. The first delivery I had was nice despite taking ages to arrive, but my second order took a very long time to arrive and when it did, it arrived completely defrosted. The items all state ‘once defrosted do not refreeze’, and reheating refrozen rice is never a safe bet. So I contacted them, the first time around they kindly sent a replacement order (which was much appreciated), but unfortunately and frustratingly, this also arrived completely defrosted and damaged. Both orders arrived after 6pm (!) and were totally soaked through and warm to touch. I therefore contacted them again, with photos of both deliveries in their damaged, fully defrosted state and asked for a refund. Over 2 months later and all of my emails, website contacts and chat messages are completely ignored and I am £40 down and with two journeys to the local dump as my return, and a whole lot of stress. Very upset as I work hard within the NHS for my wages and to have my emails ignored and have to spend double on food to eat, is very upsetting. Especially so to be ignored and disrespect as a customer. They need to resolve their delivery issues immediately and most importantly, respond to customers. I am very disappointed and feel very disrespected, despite all of my emails being polite and courteous.

I have never received my order. Never received any tracking information. They don’t answer the phone either.
Ignore your customer service queries for wrong items…
I put in my first order no ETA and they ignore my question but it arrived. 2nd order they got some of the dishes I ordered completely wrong and they ignored my email again. Judging from the other recent reviews this company seem to be intentionally sending the wrong orders to people without consulting them. Poor service and do not recommend them.

Meals arrived as I expected. Unfortunately, not one of the 10 meals was what I ordered.
I contacted customer services on the Friday, Saturday and Monday to discuss the error and haven’t heard.

6/10 meals incorrect and defrosted on arrival. Politely reached out to the company twice to correct their error and didn’t hear back from them, not even an acknowledgement of my email. Makes me think they're just trying to get rid of stock as it’s clearly not a one off mistake based on all these reviews.
I could get a better microwave meal from any supermarket and would have spent 1/3 of the price. There was nothing special about the meals, one piece of tofu in the noodle dish and zero protein in all the others and the portion sizes are small. Avoid+++
Meals arrived unfrozen
I used to very much enjoy Allplants food but now they no longer exist I am trying other sources.
I ordered 6 meals from Root Kitchen. They delivered 2 of the meals I ordered together with 4 I did not. The main problem was - all of the meals arrived warm and unfrozen. They had been over 30 hours on a DPD unrefrigerated van on one of the hottest days of the year. I immediately ate one of the meals, which was quite good, but sadly had to throw out the other five.

Where is it?
Missing three meals, no customer service
Unfortunately we recieved only 7 meals when we ordered 10, and some of the ones that came were not the ones we ordered. I contacted Root Kitchen about this and have had no response for two weeks. It's a real shame, as I enjoyed the meals and wanted to start using them regularly.
Edit: It has been another week since the reply below and I have still not had any response about my order.

Order never arrived - scam
Ordered on March 30th and never got my purchase.
Contacted them 4 different times and got no answers. At this point I’m starting to believe I was scammed.

We received some of the wrong meals
We received some of the wrong meals, and I have tried to contact them 3 times and heard nothing back - So not impressed with customer service.
Poor delivery service
Once ordered there was no idea of when the food would be delivered given and no updates on my order despite emailing and contacting online. The food package was the delivered and left in an outside box with no notification or card left that it had been delivered. I did not find the package until more than 24hrs later when it was defrosting.

I already receive similar vegan meals from another company, but I thought I would give Root Kitchen a try. I can only accept deliveries on a Friday because I am away from home during the week. Athough I stated this on my first order it was not complied with and the food went to waste. To give them their due they did send a replacement box. I was not quite what I ordered because I had requested 6 different meals. They only supplied 4 different meals (2 of them being included twice). I made a second order last weekend, again requesting Friday delivery. It did not arrive. I have contacted them three times about this but they do not respond. It is unfair that they took my money without sending the goods.

I enjoyed them for there quick and tasty choose. Wish you had more to choose more from and maybe a bit more chose than other pasta and rice.
Delicious vegan meals.
My wife is really enjoying these vegan meals and told me they are far superior to supermarket offerings. They taste absolutely delicious. will definitely be ordering some more at some point.
