I had the best headshot experience with Rory. The standard of his photos are exceptionally high, and I could not be happier with them. From the moment I stepped into the studio I felt at ease and comfortable thanks to Rory and Sasha. I explored all the looks I wanted to cover during my session, whilst having fun. I will be coming to Rory when I need new headshots. Thank you again.

From start to finish, my headshot session with Rory was a pleasure. As well as being a warm and friendly individual, he is very focused and professional. I felt at ease and able to pose well for the shots.

I did the workshop on portrait photography online recently. I was amazed by the amount of information I got, no once did I get bored to listen to him, he is so passionate about his work and gives you a different view on portrait photography. He explained everything, it's very detailed and if you miss out it's because obviously you didn't listen. I will recommend to anyone that want to learn about portrait photography. My only regret is that I would had loved to do this course face to face. I really hope one day to meet him and have a good discussion with him. Five stars. Thanks Rory.

I think two things are needed to make the “perfect” headshot for casting... 1) it needs to capture your essence/soul and 2) it needs to accentuate your features and uniqueness and make them beautiful rather than dulling them down to societies stereotypical idea of beauty.
Rory is able to do both of these brilliantly!

Many times a photogenic person isn’t videogenic because they are about two different goals... showing beauty of stillness and showing uniqueness of movement thru space and in different lighting. Luckily with Rory, it doesn’t matter which one you are...he’ll find whatever moment, expression, lighting and angle needed to make you jump out of the photo and look like you’re about to move.

What else could you ask for? (Nothing... the answer is nothing lol) I recommend him to all my friends and they’ve already rushed to get one of his available slots!

Ik had een geweldige tweedaagse workshop met de winnaar voor de nu al derde achtereen volgende keer Portrait of Britain 2019 Rory Lewis in Amsterdam. De constante stroom van visuele en tekstuele voorbeelden verliep op een zeer plezierige en leerzame manier. Rory is niet alleen fotograaf, maar in alle opzichten ook zakenman.
Gedurende de twee dagen legde hij uit hoe je verschillende onderwerpen fotografeer en hoe je ze moet benaderen. Ondertussen zal hij je ook vertellen hoe je je bedrijf kan opstarten en waar je op dien te letten. Zijn vrouw Alexandra, die Rory bijstaat tijdens de workshop, zal je helpen en verzorgd de catering.
Aan het einde van de workshop geeft Rory je allerlei informatie om je eerste stap in de fotografie business te ondersteunen.

I had an amazing two day workshop with three times award winner of the Portrait of Britain Rory Lewis in Amsterdam. The constant flow of visual and textual examples went on in a very pleasant and educational way. Rory is not only a photographer but also a businessman in every way.
Over the two days he explained how to shoot different subjects and how to approach them. In the meantime he also told us how to start our business and what we have to watch out for. His wife Alexandra who assists Rory during the workshop helped us out and looked after us.
At the end of the workshop Rory provided us with all sorts of information to support our first step into the photography business.

This masterclass was a true masterclass by a top top portrait photographer, I can't believe how much I learnt during the day. The models were superb and Rory gave me inspiration and techniques that I want to take more portraits.

As for the quality of Rory's work - it really speaks for itself, whether it be the beautiful lighting and composition drawing upon old master paintings or just the sheer calibre of high profile clients in his portfolio. But the thing that was so good about working with Rory was how calm and friendly he was and how relaxed I was made to feel. A top photographer and a top chap at the same time. Thank you.

I'm a writer and not normally very comfortable with having my photograph taken but Rory and his wife made me feel instantly at ease with the whole process. Communication throughout was clear and effective and the video that Rory gave me beforehand about what to wear was really helpful. There were a lot of photographs taken from which I could choose a couple to be retouched, and I'm very happy with the end result. I would recommend Rory very highly – very skilled and professional.

I was asked by Alexandra to be a model for a workshop that Rory was teaching in Edinburgh. I had the opportunity to see Rory working as both a photographer and teacher and I can say without any doubts that he's the best photographer I've ever worked for. He knows what to say when he directs you and he can capture in one frame complicated emotions.
I observed him teaching as well and the same things I said above applies to that: he knows how to fix any problem and he can easily guide any "student" to experiment new things and to grow as a photographer.
Working with Alexandra has been an incredible experience too and she taught me so much about modelling/social networks/life as a performer/finding your own balance. Delicate, funny, always looking after me and the people attending the workshop, I couldn't be more grateful.

Had my portrait made by Rory Lewis yesterday. I don't think I can count the number of times I've had my photo taken whether for headshots or on set. It can be a bit stressful however, Rory and Sascha made it much less painful than usual. They have a terrific video up on their website about colors and clothing which was extraordinarily helpful. I never had that before. The session itself went very well, we did a few looks but what I found most helpful was Rory actually talking to me and guiding me with actual direction not only about smiling or not but telling me to told my head a little this way or that as he looked through the viewfinder to help me look my best. He'd even pause every now and again and show me what we had and asked if I liked the direction we were going in. A great interactive and involved photo session. My most hearty recommendation.

I had a wonderful and productive session with Rory. As a long admirer of his work, I had hoped that our session would result in headshots that would have his unique and professional stamp on them. I was not disappointed and truly thrilled at the results. I was amazed at how comfortable I felt working with Rory, and also at how many varied expressions he was able to get from me. I gave the session as a gift to myself for my birthday, and can say that it is one of the most rewarding investments I have ever made for myself.

I loved my session with Rory. He and his wife were incredibly welcoming from the start, they created a safe and comfortable environment for the shoot. Rory gave me clear suggestions on how to pose but also allowed me to express freely throughout the shoot. I highly recommend his work.

Rory and his wife created such a professional and chill atmosphere that allowed me to just be myself for the shoot. I would highly recommend Rory's services for anyone looking to seriously upgrade their portfolio. The edited image I got back was beyond my expectations, I'll be ordering more asap! From the beginning of the photoshoot to the editing, everything was timely and seamless. He's got a lifetime client! I couldn't be happier with the result.

I have had several headshots over the decades that have enabled me to secure work but Rory truly captured me. The session was really clear, relaxed and productive. Both my agent and I are really pleased with how many great shots we got due to Rory’s experience and excellent talent for getting natural photographs that I am proud to use. Even though I did nothing but sit and there and respond to his excellent direction. 👍
