I started this course with no Hebrew except bits and pieces I'd grown up with. I have studied and speak German and Russian, so I think I can give good feedback. The course methodology is superb - the scopes of each lesson and the pacing. The catalyst is our online class. Ruthy is a very experienced and empathetic teacher who keeps our class lively and fun. And challenging. My classmates are such great people also. The support materials in the eTeacher portal are wonderful also - a blend of written, speaking, and reference. Finally, I love the extra practice classes and seminars. I'm looking forward to Ulpan 2.

The class itself is very demanding but it's a good demanding.I love it so much.I just wish I was a little better at learning.I mean, this is the third time I've taken the first class, and I still don't understand it, but that's my fault and has nothing to do with you guys. You guys are awesome.I love this class so much!!

My experience has been excellent. The professor teaches very clearly, and having access to the recorded classes is also extremely helpful because I can watch them whenever I am unable to attend. This makes the course much easier for me to follow, especially given my demanding work responsibilities.

It was good at first. But due to our unit being behind schedule ( because our teacher allowed us time to get things!), at the end of the course it was like 3 chapters were being crammed into two lessons. I had to memorize all those words and I could not do it that fast. IIt was stressful for me but I have to commend Natalia- my teacher.
She was very patient and kind through it all. She would explain some things in English when needed. I have recommended the entire course to at least two friends already. But I also let them know that it requires a lot of homework and memorizing.

Customer support has since reached out and extended my VIP program, so I’m providing an updated review below to reflect that:
I had posted a previous review that highlighted that I was never informed of a completion deadline for the VIP language program. I enrolled while on active duty in the Army, and was told the program offered flexibility because my schedule would shift with deployments and rotations. This program costs thousands of dollars, and after enrolling, I only recently found out about future deadlines. Mine was supposed to end in August 2026, and I still hadn't completed all the courses due to my schedule.
However, I think customer support provided a much-needed solution to the frustrating encounters I’ve experienced at Rosen over the past several months. Their willingness to listen, acknowledge the issues, and take concrete steps toward fixing them felt like the first real sign that the situation might improve. I’m still mindful of my previous issues and negative experiences at Rosen, but I’m cautiously optimistic that this marks a turning point, and I can now complete my Hebrew studies here.

I am very satisfied with our lecturer and the teaching method.
The teaching materials are also excellent, whether printed or virtual.
The only thing I would like is more time per lesson.
As I find language difficult I am working now with a private teacher in the school. She's amazing and she works at my speed and my understanding so there's no pressure to finish a certain amount of material in a certain amount of time as she works on my timeline and not hers.

I've learned some really interesting facts about Israel - the culture, the society, the people, the different religions - it's amazing so far! And Ronit is the best!!

Dana is a delight! She is super engaging, enthusiastic, and happily helps us all with the language and the culture. Her pace is great. We move swiftly but not so fast that the class gets lost. There are always a couple of students in each class that don't really like to participate, but in Dana's class, everyone DOES! She wills us to get involve,d and I am here for it! Kudos!

Rosen educators care about your learning. They are always patient and willing to answer questions. Their way of teaching is amazing, and it is just fun to be with other people who also feel anxious at first, but end up enjoying the experience and learning Hebrew!

Especially considering the limitations of an online course, it's very well-taught and coherently structured. I feel I'm making good progress. There are a few things which I might recommend to supplement it, especially for students like me who want to practice more intensively. One is to make available recordings of the exercises / sentences / dialogues / slide texts, wherever possible, so students can listen and repeat independently. The recordings of the lessons are good, but very long. Not all interactions are equally interesting. So for example, if sentences and the correct answers in exercises like the one on p. 100 of the book were available to listen to, it would help students to remember vocabulary and increase verbal skill. In short: facilitate repetitive training.
