A Deeply Unpleasant Experience
We were looking forward to visiting this place, as we are locals and had considered it for an upcoming event. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be deeply disappointing – in fact, one of the worst we've had in terms of service and atmosphere.
The service felt chaotic, and in particular, the waiter assigned to our table seemed stressed, irritated, and outright unfriendly. We felt like we were a burden – as if we were being rushed through a feeding process rather than welcomed as guests. At one point, the atmosphere became so uncomfortable that we honestly wondered if we were on a hidden camera show.
I gently tried to comment on the waiter’s attitude by mentioning that he seemed stressed, which unfortunately triggered a surprisingly aggressive reaction. Perhaps I could have chosen a different word, but I doubt it would have changed the outcome.
We decided to cancel our main course, which was a shame, as the starter was actually excellent. We spoke with the guests at the table next to us, and they were equally shocked by the waiter’s behavior and the overall atmosphere. They also praised the food but said they would definitely not return – and they were hotel guests.
A head waiter (wearing a blue jacket) later tried to make amends by waiving the cost of the food as a gesture of goodwill, which we do appreciate – but unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
We dine out frequently and have shared many positive reviews over the years, but this stands out as one of the most negative experiences we’ve had. It’s especially disappointing given the restaurant’s potential – but when the atmosphere and service fall so drastically short, it becomes impossible to recommend.
Luckily, there are many other great places in the area.
