Purchased two tickets for the North East event 20th July, they cancelled it two weeks before it was due to happen...low ticket sales!!
We were offered a refund.

As of now still no refund on two tickets of £47 each plus booking fee! I contacted Rough Runner and they were very blaise about it ooh watch this space, any day now etc!

When I have questioned them they say it can take up to a year to refund....a year...I work in sales if my company took a year to refund something we would have legal action against us, refunds can get done same day, easily.

And they will be contacting me for my bank details so they can arrange a bank transfer... you take my money, cancel an event, can't refund within SIX months say it can take a year but expect us all to provide bank account details to you.... you've already scammed us out of the money for tickets!!

DO NOT BOOK WITH ROUGH RUNNER!! Three tickets bought for north east event 2019 and cancelled within 2 weeks of the event taking place. No sign of a refund or communication of any form!! Quick enough to take money off you but claims it can take a year for a refund. Shocking customer service. Not recommended!

DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS. This company are scammers. My friends and I bought tickets for the 2019 North East event. Rough Runner cancelled it two weeks before and we’ve waiting over 6 MONTHS for refunds. They keep giving different excuses and different deadlines. The current deadline is February. I’m sure this will come and go with no refund at which point I’ll be raising the issue with my credit card company and they can sort it.

A friend and I paid for 2 places on the 2019 event which was later cancelled. They advised that tickets would be transferred to 2020 event but no further communication received since the event was cancelled. Turns out they won't be hosting a north east event in 2020! I've tried emailing them numerous times to no avail. Their customer services email stated on their website is invalid.

I booked 2 tickets for an event that was cancelled summer 2019. Still no refund. They are scammers and a disgusting company. Don’t give them your money. Up to 12 months to give refunds because of ‘technical issues’ right? You must think we’re thick.

North east event was cancelled a week before the event was due to take place. Still waiting for a refund over six months later. Shocking communication and excuse after excuse for the delay. Disgraceful excuse for a company. 6 tickets cost almost £300 and no idea if or when I’ll ever get it back.

I signed up for one of their events in London and ordered one of their running tops as an add-on online. At the event when I tried to collect the top I was told there had been a mix up with the orders and they only had tops for women. I gave them my address so they could post it to me the following days and waited, but nothing ever arrived in the mail. There was never any official communication from them and eventually I contacted them. They said there was a delay, and kept promising that it would be sent the next few days. Every time there was a different excuse. Eventually they stopped replying, I got fed up, and took it up with my bank to dispute the transaction, but this would take months to resolve and could lead nowhere. After posting publicly about it I finally heard back from them to ask me to take the post down, and I asked them for a refund. They said they would try to get to the merchandise and if they were unable to they would refund me. Eventually they said the merchandise was "in a difficult to get to place" whatever that means, must have been at the top of the Everest or something, and they tried to offer me a ticket for another event next year instead of the promised refund. I insisted on getting the refund and they stopped replying again. I went public with it again and they blocked me on their page so I was left with only email to communicate. After a few threats and more public posts they eventually said they would process the refund and took my bank details, but 2 weeks later still nothing. Eventually I got the refund but the whole ordeal took almost 3 months, any other company would have taken days at most to process things. My spouse also did the same order and months later is still waiting for the same refund, they just don't bother replying to the emails. Avoid, these people should not be in business!

I bought 3 x 10k tickets at a cost of £167 in January 2019. They cancelled the North East event on the 7th July, two weeks before the event was due to go ahead because of low ticket sales. They gave a timeline for refunds with an absolute deadline of 15th December 2019 for refunds to be completed, 5 months after cancelling!!! Guess what, the 15th December came and went and still no refund, but a new email update on the 16th December saying their ticket system was unable to make refunds, so now everyone after 5 months had to fill in another form with bank details for them to make refunds by bank transfer. The cherry on the cake was that they would need everyones details in who purchased tickets, numbers for refunds unknown, but approx. 4000, before they would be able to begin refunding everyone. Yet more delaying tactics from Rough Runner who are just a bunch of scammers and will put off and put off from refunding you, hoping you will just give up and forget about it! Do not book with this company, bunch of crooks!

My daughter and 9 of her friends paid £45 each to enter the north east race, payment was taken in January 2019, the race was subsequently cancelled an no refunds have been made.
It is almost 12 months, and despite numerous emails having been sent to try to resolve this issue, unfortunately no refunds have been received.
It is looking very likely that they will have to pursue this through the appropriate legal procedures.

Please be aware of the above issues when considering paying for future events with this company.
