Ok for starters this a hole new game…

Ok for starters this a hole new game for me. I was in a band once. I was a garage band. This was in the early 2000s. It didn't work out. So after that I pushed it to the side and just went on with life. Now im in my 50s and thanks to routenote. I was able to make a long time dream work. Thank you

would not recommend

i sent a song out to these people back on aug 2nd around that time it said it would take around 27 working days fast forward some its been over 27 working days so i sent a email to them still no response nothing and about day later they changed it to 56 to 58 working days and then not even a day after that they changed it to 26 to 28 working days do these people even know what they are doing cause like its been well passed the time frame that was given i have emailed them and nothing if you are looking for a speedy release and a company that will actually help you when there is issues and actually respond to you i would recommend you look else where this seems to be a very big issue with this company from what i can see with other reviews cause at this point they are playing with peoples lively hoods at this point with these absurd wait times and i don't think they even know how fast their own mod team is working cause how can you 1 day say 27 working days the next 58 and the next 28 just very bad experience overall i think its very unprofessional to give very inconsistent time frames like that i am understanding sometimes deadlines are not met but this is just absurd i have never seen a company that is so slow to getting back to its users and from what i have seen others say instead of even giving you help they just give you the run around absurd

Some irrational behavior.

I have been associated with Routenote for about two years.

Their UI is very fresh and has a simple structure. The free plan pays 85% of the artist's royalties on time and accurately. This is very commendable.

A few months ago, my account stopped receiving new releases for no reason. Which is completely unreasonable.I contacted multiple times but did not get any solution. They say their decision cannot be appealed.

This creates an unreasonable limitation on my account after distributing over 100 tracks.

Previously, my releases were approved within 21 days. Email replies were received within two days.
But now they reply to emails about once every two weeks. Now, if I submit a release, it is reviewed after 40 days. Very sad.

Some releases claim to be AI despite being original. These are releases that are about 6 years old. Even in this modern era, making mistakes in AI verification is ridiculous.

I would be very grateful if they could help me continue my work. But alas, they will not accept my request.

Thanks anyway Routenote 🩷

The worst customer service ever

I tried to upload some tracks to Spotify for the first time in my life. It took them 3 MONTHS to review my submition and then they just deleted it without ever allowing me to correct myself or telling me a reason what was wrong with it. When I contacted RouteNote support, they basically told me to not even try again and go choose another distribution platform.

Extremely Long Review Delays Are Hurting My Music Release Plans

I chose RouteNote hoping for a reliable way to distribute my music and make it available on major streaming platforms.

However, the extremely long waiting periods I have experienced have made the process very frustrating.

For an independent artist, a delay is not just a delay.

It can mean:

Missed release opportunities
Lost social media momentum
Wasted promotional preparation
Missed trends
Delayed collaborations
Audience frustration
Interrupted consistency
Lost creative motivation

A finished song sitting unreleased for months cannot reach new listeners.

It cannot generate streams.

It cannot build your audience.

It cannot support your promotional campaign.

And it cannot help you move forward as an artist.

I sincerely hope the review process can become faster, more transparent, and more predictable for independent musicians.

Until then, based on my personal experience, I would be very cautious about relying on RouteNote for releases that are time-sensitive or essential to a carefully planned release schedule.

For me, waiting more than 90 days—and potentially facing delays lasting several months—is simply too risky when trying to consistently build and grow a music career.

Banned without explanation

I was migrating my catalog from distrokid and to my surprise during the review process I receive an email informing me that I have been permanently banned from submitting any new releases for no clear reason. The music dates back to 2019 so A.I use is impossible. I will be looking for a different distribution platform to work with

TitleDestek bilgilendirmeleri güzel ama 26 Temmuz'dan beri incelemede ilerleme yok (UPC: 5064042338823)

Title: Support updates are good, but no progress on review since July 26th (UPC: 5064042338823)

Review:
The updates from the customer support team (thanks to Jake) are good, but they are not satisfying because there is absolutely no progress on our release.

Our album "GÖĞE BAK" (UPC: 5064042338823) has been pending moderation and stuck "In Review" since JULY 26th. The official release date was August 7th, which has already passed by more than a month. We have been waiting for a very long time.

We want to work collaboratively with RouteNote, but we need human eyes on this tracklist layout now. Based on recent reviews here, I see that senior managers like Alana are very helpful in resolving human moderation delays.

I kindly but firmly ask the management or a human moderator to manually verify our release today and move it to "Approved" status.

48 business days, then a vague final rejection

I submitted an original song to RouteNote for distribution. I wrote 100% of the lyrics and melody myself and used Suno Premier under a paid subscription that included commercial-use rights.
My release remained in moderation for approximately 48 business days, which was far longer than the timeframe I had been led to expect.
On the 44th business day, I contacted RouteNote to politely express my frustration about the delay. Shortly afterward, I received a notice that my release had been disapproved.
The rejection did not identify a specific problem. Instead, RouteNote listed several broad possibilities, including uncertainty about rights, fraudulent streaming risk, spam or advertising, generic content, or failure to meet partner-store requirements. I was not told which of those reasons actually applied to my submission.
What I found most disappointing was that during the entire review period, nobody contacted me to ask a question, request proof of my rights, ask about my use of Suno, or give me an opportunity to provide additional information. I would have gladly supplied documentation regarding my authorship, Suno subscription, or commercial-use rights.
Instead, after waiting nearly 10 working weeks, I was simply told that the decision was final and could not be disputed.
I cannot know whether my complaint about the delay had anything to do with the timing of the rejection, so I will not claim that it did. However, the sequence of events left me very uncomfortable with the process.
A distributor has every right to decide what it will distribute. My criticism is about the lack of transparency and communication. After waiting 48 business days, I believe an artist deserves a specific explanation or at least an opportunity to answer reasonable questions before receiving a final, non-appealable rejection.
Based on my experience, I would have difficulty recommending RouteNote to independent songwriters who value timely moderation and clear communication.

I have been using RouteNote since 2022

I have been using RouteNote since 2022. Back then, releases were processed extremely fast within a week. Now, approval times have stretched to over a month. Unfortunately, the slow review times are the least of the problems.

Unauthorized distribution & forced Content ID: They automatically sent my releases to stores without my permission. Even worse, they opted my tracks into YouTube Content ID automatically. As a cover artist recording human performances, ticking Content ID violates mechanical licensing terms—doing this without my consent puts my account and music at huge risk.
Silent release deletions: They have automatically deleted my releases without sending a single warning or explanatory email.
Terrible customer support: Support responses feel like generic copy-paste templates that completely ignore the actual issue. On top of that, ticket response times are ridiculously slow, taking well over two weeks just to get a single reply.
RouteNote used to be decent, but it has turned into an unreliable platform that takes control of your intellectual property without permission while offering zero effective support. Avoid.

Do not use under any circumstances

Still waiting for my song to come out of review after nearly 6 weeks. No communication. Haven't bothered to respond to my support ticket asking what is taking so long. Am now stuck unable to release my own music because of this company. Stuck doing gigs and having people ask where they can find my songs and having to reply nowhere because some useless company is holding them hostage. Seems from these reviews like this is a common theme. This company needs investigating and shutting down. Would leave 0 stars if it was an option.

Hi Barry,

I completely understand your frustration regarding the extended wait, and I am very sorry for this ongoing delay.

Unfortunately, our moderation times fluctuate constantly based on the volume of uploads we receive. We've recently received a high volume of submissions, which means that the queue for moderation is longer than usual.

Please also be aware that releases containing AI-generated or AI-assisted content may be subject to additional review and therefore may take longer than our standard moderation timeframe.

We highly recommend keeping an eye on our moderation update article for the most accurate, up-to-date timelines, as that page is revised weekly to reflect these shifts: https://support.routenote.com/kb-article/how-long-will-i-be-waiting-for-my-release-to-go-live/

Stay away from RouteNote

If you are a serious artist, stay away from RouteNote. I have been trying to take down my releases since July to migrate my catalog to a better distributor, and their system is completely broken.

Whenever I request a takedown, they say it will be removed in "15 days", but it never happens. It's stuck in an endless loop. I’ve reached out to support, and there is zero response or accountability. They are effectively holding my music hostage and causing major metadata conflicts with my new distributor.

A platform that prevents you from managing your own intellectual property and ignores support requests for months is not a platform you can trust with your career. I am now forced to contact Spotify directly to get my own tracks removed from this bugged system.

Save yourself the headache and go with a distributor that actually works and respects artists.
