Lost my data and expected me to make a ticket for compensation
I don't know why I didn't listen to people when told me to not go with RubyHost because of the previous times they had their service nuked by a 14 year old and that Shaum previous hosts failed due to data breaches and more.
At the start the host was okay, prices were cheap but the Europe downtime and loss of data changed that. Seeing their other location have downtime for days and the lack of communication either through email or on discord beyond some comment blaming some dude that cant defend themself.
If a host lost my data the least a host can do is give me compensation automatically or at least a refund but rather inconvenience us busy server owners by making us open a ticket (Still 0 email about this so you'd need to be in the discord) and ask for compensation.
I don't get what went wrong and hope the company does better.

I have been using there servers for a little while now and they are amazing. Their budget servers are the best price I’ve found for a quick server with friends. Their support team is amazing and works very hard to solve the issues. They are very transparent about what is happening with their servers and I would recommend them to anyone I know

Using ruby host was a mistake
Building on what Hannaan7real said, since we have a server together. I have to agree with what he is saying as the backups are unreliable, the nodes go down for weeks at a time with little to no communication or clarity on the situation.
We encountered an error with our server, Where the whole server was wiped due to an unknown reason. When going to the backups section of the panel. The Error "There was an error while communicating with the machine running this server. This error has been logged, please try again." was thrown out and the backups were inaccessible. We made a ticket to try get our data back, We were told the sysadmin was on leave and we would have to wait 5 days for an offsite backup.
5 days may not seem like a lot of time but when you have a community of players all questioning what is going on it tends to drag on.
After waiting 6 days, We were told that the offsite backup had nothing in it and we would have to revert to a backup we made 14 days prior.
You might ask if we were compensated? The whole ordeal lasted around a whole week and we were compensated with 5 days of SLA credit. We had waited longer than what we were compensated. Not to mention all the data loss.
After doing a little bit of digging into ruby's past its become clear to us that, This is not the first time that data loss has occured.
From being nuked earlier this year by a 14 year old. To just yesterday the whole germany node was lost along with everyone's data who was on there.
After talking with other server owners who use the service. I can see the issue with lost data is very common with the backups being unreliable and the offsite backups stated dont even exist.
I would not recommend this host if you value your server or your playerbase.
Please dont make the same mistake we did.

Lost ALL Customer Data On EU Node
1 week ago, both Dallas 3 and EU 1 went offline and apparently suffered RAID failures. Dallas was able to be recovered, however today they confirmed they cannot recover anything on EU. All servers from that node have been lost and Ruby cannot restore them as they do not have any external backups. In their announcement about the terrible news, they did not offer a SINGLE apology to anyone affected. They have also not made it clear if they will be offering any compensation to anyone who lost their server. This is completely unacceptable, and you should steer clear from RubyHost.
Before this incident, I have suffered constant outages on the EU node. I have been compensated for these past outages, however compensation becomes meaningless when outages happen every few weeks. There is also terrible communication, and it can take a lot of time and frustration to actually get any answers about outages.
I also want to mention that RubyHost is partnered with an NSFW YouTube channel (Muncher), who's videos contain inappropriate thumbnails and speech such as “Don't mind me I just wanna be busted open real quick."
They also allowed him to have his partner code as "GROOMER" because "For his audience they find it quite humorous" (this is a direct quote from Xander, the CEO of RubyHost). Before I criticised it, Muncher was listed on the front page of RubyHost’s website. After a lot of discussion (and a complete meltdown, which I will talk about below), they agreed to take Muncher off the website and change his code. Muncher is no longer on the website, but they have not changed his code. Personally, I don’t believe they should even be partnering with an NSFW channel, but they wouldn’t agree with me on that.
Xander also had a complete meltdown at me when I continued to criticise the partnership, comparing me to a " 10 year old who didint get icecream" and calling me a “little **** bothering me over a issue that only effects him” (I have had to censor the word he called me in order to post this review). During this meltdown, he also randomly brought up that his uncle had just passed away. I am sorry for his loss, however that was not the appropriate time or place to mention it. Xander has continued to have meltdowns at others who have criticised him, however I am only talking about my experience.
Lastly, I noticed that Shaum recently responded to a negative review by “.moon.” using a likely AI-generated response. This is not a major deal but, in my opinion, it makes the response less genuine.
I will update my review if I am made aware of any further details.
Edit: They have fully refunded me and completely discontinued the EU node, and also finally apologised. I would still advise you not trust them, as they have demonstrated they are not competent at managing nodes.

Outages literally every week
The prices are low, but so is the quality. Outages and maintenance occur very frequently with RubyHost.
The servers usually go down suddenly and randomly for a few minutes before coming back on, interspersed with the large outages that last several hours.
In fact, at the time of writing the Dallas location is having an outage. Not only this but it's marked on the status page as "planned maintenance"!!!
I hate explaining to my users why the server is going down constantly. Will try to find a different provider.
