The machine wasn't clean
The machine wasn't clean. The whole, dark brown dirt which was inside went out on the carpet and the mattress. when I called their customer service to issue official complaint I was told that this is my fault because I didn't check the condition of the machine. They just didn't mention that it's impossible to check what's inside the machine until you use it and see the damage it caused to your property. Moreover, when I said that according to the instruction on the machine I cleaned the shampoo bucket before use as it was dirty and stinky the person I was taking with was trying to manipulate the conversation by saying that I knew that the machine is dirty. Unbelievable...Needlessly say, the customer service refused to take an official complain. The person I was talking with lied to me that he will send me an email with the instructions how to do it in writing.
Please, be careful when dealing with Rug Doctor. You may wish to consider choosing some other company. This one behaves like an organised crime organisation.
Poor experience from ordering for home delivery
Poor experience from ordering to delivery. Their comms in their emails is wrong, advising that you should get a receipt when it is collected.
Some of the customer service people are not very kind.
I wouldn't use this service again but the actual device was good - will buy something similar so I don't need to hire again.
It's a total scam
We got it to clean a new carpet, get all the fluff off etc. The floor had been washed before the carpet was fitted. Yet despite this for two hours, brown water came out of the machine, we came to the conclusion there is something in the machine to make the water dirty to make it appear that it's cleaning. It dumped gallons of water into the carpet and floor, it's a terrible con. I checked the machine and it was clean, so there must be something in it that makes the water dirty.
Not recommended
Had used Rugdoctor in previous years and had a good experience . This time we collected machine from a locket . Machine not clean
Used machine - all seemed ok in terms of removing dirt, but we now have ( in our pet free home) the smell of cat urine . It’s disgusting . I wouldn’t recommend Rug doctor now.
Company has offered money back and are sending me a spray to ‘get rid’ of the smell. I’m really hoping this works / if not I’m afraid we will need a new carpet . An expensive experience if that happens!
Covered in large quantities of pet hair
Hired a Rug Doctor cleaner from our local Tesco. Made the mistake of not looking at the underneath of the machine until we got home. It was absolutely covered in pet hair entangled in the brushes and sticking to the rest of the base as well as being generally dirty. The previous hirer must have made no attempt to clean it but what is worse is that it cannot have been checked after the previous hire. It took me nearly an hour to clean it, removing a very large quantity of pet hair. I would strongly advise any hirers to always check the base of the machine before they take it home and if you are allergic to pet hair then go elsewhere.
Dirty machine
My daughter hired a rug doctor carpet clearer from their site at Morrisons in Palmers Green, London. For a 24 hour hire and their shampoo, it cost about £50. The machine was dirty, full of scum and bits of debris from previous usage. We were disgusted at its condition. For the price we paid we had expected a reputable company to at least provide a clean machine, or clean it between use. The carpet cleaning was average, we had previously used a domestic machine from a family member which which was just as good if not better. Even after 24 hours the carpets were still damp and stubborn marks were still present. The machine was heavy and difficult to lift up the stairs. We cannot recommend this company.
good clearning machine here
i bought , actualyl ordered a carept clearning machine because I have 3 cats at home, and thier fur is all around the house, and it is hard to get it from caprptes...
but the machine i bought does the job well, almost all fur is sucked in, however it is a bit noisy and tend to get overheated if powered on for long time, but aint a big issue actually
Impossible to contact
I hired Rug Doctor to clean my carpets. It is delivered with APC overnight, but cannot be picked up. I'm supposed to stay at home from 08:00 to 18:00, without even using the bathroom, being available every single moment. The problem could be solved if the courier sent an SMS or gave a call half an hour or 5 minutes before coming, but somehow it's impossible in this communication age. I am told they sent an email, but I didn't receive anything, not even in the junk mail. I tried to reschedule it with Rug Doctor, but they are impossible to communicate. They send me the very same email no matter what I write.
I took a day off from my limited annual leave days, I'm not even sure if the courier will arrive tomorrow at all! They don't bother answering.
What kind of planning this? How can you not give slots of 3-4 hours, while every other company can do that? The deliveries are planned days in advance, how come there is no daily plan?
Picked Up Machine - Covered in Fur and Vomit
I’ve just collected the machine for the first time, and the bottom of it is covered in fur and what looks like vomit, and will require me to clean it thoroughly before I can use it. What a vile thing for customers. However good the machine works for me, I will not use RugDoctor again.
Walmart rug doctor kiosk rental
I rented a rug doctor from a local Walmart and the machine wasn't cleaned it had feces and cat litter and hair all over it walmart said they didn't have anything to do with the kiosk and that I would have to call the support number I did and they said I was issued a refund but I never received it and also while speaking to them they decided to hang up on me cause they said their was nothing g more they could do...
Faulty machines
I rented the rug doctor at 10am September 12th.. started cleaning at 11am. Because this machine was not spinning water when the button was being pressed, I had to bend over and feel the carpet and make sure it was working then go over it again until it left it wet. I didn't finish until 5:30am September 13th.. due to those complications I woke up a little late returning it. Had it cleaned out spotless but since I was an hour late returning it, the fee was my entire deposit of 40 dollars that I should have been reimbursed immediately after returning the cleaned machine. I feel like I was conned into an 80 dollar rental for 24 hours. If your late fees are going to be so outrageous, the least you can do is make sure your machines are working at all your locations. And I absolutely will be expecting my money back because I did what I was supposed to do. That machine did not.
Very disappointed!
This was a terrible experience that has made our life harder! We hired rug doctor to clean a carpet in our new home, but the rug doctor machine leaked dirty water marks all over the carpet, making it worse!!!!
As this is hired through Tesco, there was no one to speak too for a refund or indeed help! So disappointed 😞.
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE!
I rented a Rug Doctor machine along with their cleaning solution to clean my home rug. The label on my rug clearly states that it can be cleaned with the type of products I purchased. However, the machine completely damaged my rug. It left an unbearable smell, spread the dirt around instead of cleaning, and made the rug look worse than before.
When I contacted Rug Doctor’s customer service, they refused to provide me with the machine’s serial number or any proof of the tests they claimed to have done. Every time I asked for the machine number to verify their testing, they avoided the request and never provided the information.
This was not only disappointing but also very unprofessional. Instead of helping resolve the issue, Rug Doctor dismissed my concerns and left me with a damaged rug and no accountability on their part. I cannot recommend their service.
Hired the machine from Rug Doctor
Hired the machine from Rug Doctor, picked up from Asda with no problems. Checked cleaner and it was a bit grubby underneath so had to clean. The performance of the machine and hand attachment were superb, carpets came up a dream, yes, it was hard work, but put in the effort and you will see the rewards. Would not hesitate to recommend.
I was disappointed with your cleaner…
I was disappointed with your cleaner and whoever used it before me, collected it on Thursday 21st. Had water left in it thankfully we put a waterproof sheet in car. Once we got it home I looked underneath it and it was filthy with hair/fur and what looked like sand. I had to give a good clean before using it.
Don’t book the delivery and pickup option
Be aware you have to be available for them to pickup your Rug Doctor when using the home delivery and pickup service. Now that’s fine except when the tell to it’s going to be picked up on a certain date and don’t turn up. Guess what?? Now you have to plan to stay in for a second day when they decide to pick it up. Just hope they turn up because if they don’t, it’s going on EBay!!!! Furious!!
Wish I'd not bought it
Wish I'd not bought it. Very heavy so horrible to carry up and down stairs. Clean water tank soon runs out of water. Worst of all - the wretched screw on grey caps to water dispenser tank and dirty water tank constantly cross-thread. My dirty water tank screw on lid has just cross threaded to the extent that I can't get the damned thing on or off! Doesn't even do a good job cleaning, and very awkward to clean after use as inaccessible parts.
Attachment didn't work
The main unit was fine. However, there were two problems with the upholstery tool. Firstly, the trigger was already almost touching the hose; there was no movement in the trigger and therefore it would not spray any shampoo. As it happened, this was just as well, because there was no useful suction either; the tool head consisted of a number of parts, and two of these - the main light grey plastic body, and a clear smoky-coloured part - did not fit together. There were sizeable gaps along the sides of the tool head due to this misfit, and the air simply entered via these gaps. This tool is not just useful for upholstery; after shampooing your carpet(s) you will probably find you have some patches which are still wet, and the upholstery tool can be used to help dry these. The fact that it did not work was a serious problem for me.
I found this problem at about 17:30. I rang customer services but their hours were 08:00 - 17:00. When they did open, the next day, they answered immediately and were as helpful as could reasonably be expected, and quickly agreed to refund the hire of the tool, but of course there was nothing to be done about the extended time needed to fully dry the carpet.
So - main unit and customer services fine, but pretty important bit didn't work; three stars.
Machine was broken. Did not get refund
I rented a machine from one of this kiosks. The machine was broken but did not realize it till I brought it home. The brush would not spin and it was not clogged. Tried to get my money back by sending in report online as they prompt you to do and never heard back from them. So I spent 50 bucks to rent a broken machine. What a rip off!
1/2 point machine is cumbersome stupid…
1/2 point machine is cumbersome stupid design clean water with soap on bottom one lousy skinny brush that gets dirty and leaves dirt stains on the rug my machine spit out water and fluid onto carpets it also did not allow me to remove the hose to hook up the tools total shit not worth the $70 I paid
