LONG REVIEW BUT VERY HONEST ONE.

BOOKED A VILLA FOR 2 WEEKS JUNE 2025. THE VILLA HAD A BROKEN OVEN AND BROKEN OUTSIDE REFRIGERATOR. WE REPORTED BOTH FAULTY APPLIANCES TO OWNER WHO SAID THEY CAME OUT TO CHECK THE OVEN AND REFRIGERATOR. WE NEVER SAW THE OWNER SO WERE HE CAME TO CHECK CONVENIENTLY WHEN WE WERE OUT IS TO BE DEBATED AS HE SAID BOTH APPLIANCES WERE WORKING FINE. I SENT VIDEOS AND PICTURES OF THE OVEN THROWING UP A FAULT CODE WHEN TRYING TO USE IT AND IT JUST CONSTANTLY CUTS OFF I WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER AND MESS AROUND WITH SOME SWITCHES. NOT A CHANCE WAS I DOING THAT. I REPORTED THE FAULTS SO THE OWNER SHOULD DEAL WITH IT. ANYWAY WITH VIDEOS AND PICTURES SENT I HAD THE PROOF THE APPLIANCES WERE NOT WORKING. THE OUTCOME WAS THE OWNER PAID US COMPANSATION FOR THE HASSLE AND THE FOOD WE LOST IN THE FAULTY REFRIGERATOR. AFTER I LEFT MY REVIEW ABOUT OUR STAY RURALIDAYS ALLOWED TJE OWNER TO FOLLOW UP AND REPLY TO OUR REVIEW THAT OUR WHOLE PARTY WERE TELLING LIES. EVEN AFTER THE VIDEOS AND PICTURES SO THE CAMERA DONT LIE BUT ON TOP OF THAT HE PAID US €500 COMPANSATION BUT STILL INSISTS WE WERE WRONG ON HIS REPLY. NOW RURALIDAYS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT HIS LIES ON HIS REPLY BUT SAID THEY HAVE TO LEAVE HIS REPLY THERE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THAT ITS ALL LIES AS THEY WERE SENT VIDEOS AND PICTURES OF THE FAULTY APPLIANCES AND THEY PAID THE 500 COMPANSATION TO MY ACCOUNT. SO THE 1 STAR IS FOR THAT EXACT REASON AND ITS SUCH A SHAME AS THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY AS WE BOOKED B4 AND HAD NO ISSUES BUT THE FACT THEY HAVE THE EVIDENCE (PICTURES, VIDEOS) BUT ALLOWED HIS LIES TO REMAIN THE DESERVE THE 1 STAR. AMONG THE FAULTY APPLIANCES THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE VILLA, BLOCKED SHOWER, WILD STRAY CATS LIVING IN THE OUT BUILDINGS BRINGING BACK RODENTS LEAVING THEM DEAD AT POOL SIDE CAUSING THOUSANDS OF ANTS (NO MENTION OF CATS LIVING THERE ON ADD) TJEN OWNER COMPLAINED WE USEDTOO MUCH ELECTRIC 🤣🤣 EVEN THOUGH THE ADD SAID ELECTRIC WAS INCLUDED. POWER OUTAGES IF U TRIED TO MAKE SOME TOAST THEN THE POWER WOULD CUT OFF IN THE WHOLE VILLA.

So yous have the evidence of videos and pictures but yous still let the owner tell lies on his reply as ling as it meets your content guidelines? Yous should be embarrassed that yous allow owners to reply with lies and do nothing about it

Good response & communication

The prices and variety of villas is good.
We booked a villa and then decided after a couple of days that it wasn't quite what we were after and wanted to change to another within the same area.
We contacted Ruralidays and it was all sorted within 1 day. Very responsive and accommodating with any issues.

helpful and friendly staff

When I had difficulty paying on line the staff were easy to talk to and talked me through how to pay using using a secure link which was very easy. Debora was very helpful and we are looking forward to our holiday.

Property in La Ribera de la Oliva

Booked a property in La Ribera de la Oliva through AirBnB. We were given a different address than listed on AirBnB. The house was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time - bat and mice droppings were everywhere in communal areas. One toilet was only accessible through the main bedroom. Another was hidden behind a hospital-style screen, not disclosed in the listing. Beds were unmade, with wet, dirty towels left out; there was blood on the toilet roll. The house could not accommodate 12 people as advertised - beds were smaller than stated, and doubles couldn’t fit two adults. Silverfish came out of the bathroom plughole. The property was uninhabitable, forcing us to leave and book two separate last-minute stays, splitting our group (including guests traveling from Australia) and causing significant disruption and expense.

We still have not been offered a full refund. Please refund us the full amount.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations.

As soon as we received your report, we immediately contacted the property owner, who sincerely apologised for the cleaning issues and confirmed that they were due to an isolated oversight by the cleaning team. She offered to return to the house the following morning with cleaners to carry out a deep cleaning and address all concerns raised. Unfortunately, this solution was declined, and the group left the property voluntarily, without allowing the situation to be resolved.

We understand how disappointing this must have been. However, we would like to clarify the following:

- The beds in the property are standard Spanish sizes (140 cm and 150 cm), suitable for two adults, as stated in the listing.

- The property was equipped with clean towels and linens for all guests.

- Swallow nests are protected by law in Andalusia and cannot be removed, but the window is fitted with a mosquito net.

- The listing photos and location details were verified and remain accurate.

While we respect your decision to leave, it’s important to note that when a guest does not allow for issues to be resolved on-site, our ability to take corrective action is limited. Nonetheless, the owner agreed to offer a partial refund, jointly supported by Ruralidays, as a gesture of goodwill, which you declined.

We regret that this experience did not reflect the standards we aim to uphold, and your feedback has been taken seriously and will help us improve our service.

I recently booked a stay with Rural Holidays in La Ribera De La Oliva

I recently booked a stay with Rural Holidays through Airbnb in the region of La Ribera De La Oliva, when we entered the accommodation, we found the accommodation wasn't advertised as described in the listing, it didn’t fit the amount of guests that we had booked for and it was left unclean with bat droppings in the communal areas, we then sought alternative accommodation and haven’t received a refund from either Rural Holidays or Airbnb for our stay which is extremely frustrating, we spent £2300 on this accommodation and to not see any of it in return is appalling from both Airbnb and Rural Holidays.

A wonderful tranquil setting

A wonderful tranquil setting - a well equipped, well looked after villa - plenty of sitting out areas so you can always find shade if you want it. Pictures really don’t do it justice and we found ourselves saying wow at the views every day. A good sized pool for keeping cool. Eloisa is a lovely host and we were delighted with the welcome pack of local products. No complaints, a perfect holiday and happy to recommend.

Great agency for villas

Great experience

Due to illness I had to cancel our holiday. Before booking the staff was very helpfull and responded very fast. After I had to cancel, the way everything was handled, was smooth, professional and very friendly. For sure I will come back and this time I will visit one of your wonderful properties!
