5 year data only SIM deactivated without replacement

Bought a 5 year data only SIM from RWG in 2023, I believe this was an EE sim or at least used the EE network. Stopped working in 2024, called customer services up (UK call centre) and they sent me a replacement - this one was a 'Gamma' sim. Another year later in 2025, the same thing happened around August. Called customer services up (non-UK call centre now) and they kept on asking me to call back later or email. Emailed, no response. Called back 2 weeks later demanding a solution, they could not locate the SIM on my account even after I gave the long SIM number, my RWG order numbers etc (the order still shows on my account online). They then advised me on the phone that this disconnected this SIM for all Gamma SIM customers in August 2024 and sent out communications offering replacements/refunds to customers. I did not receive any communication. The agent on the phone then said since I called back 4 months later and not within 30 days they would not replace my SIM or refund me (I didn't even ask for a refund). I paid for a 5 year SIM and they deactivated it twice, and refused to replace it the second time.

I explained that I use the SIM in a car GPS tracker so that is why I wouldn't know immediately when it disconnects and nor did I agree to having to check in every 30 days and that I would forfeit my SIM if I didn't do so!

Extremely disappointed, I want to say more but I know I have to strictly stick to the facts or this review may be pulled.

Looking at all the other negative…

Looking at all the other negative reviews how an earth are RWG still in business? 3 Data SIMs provided which required activation....simple task you would have thought!!! Oh no no no ....after god knows how many phone calls to customer services 5 days later finally one SIMs becomes active. Another week later and after god knows how many more phone calls to customer services finally the remaining two SIMs are active. Basically 10 days and many phone calls to get working Data SIMs.
Its a shame because the SIMs are very good value for money and do work well but just let down by the worst customer service I've ever experienced.
People...thing twice about using this company and take seriously the many poor reviews.

Unresponsive to email, cannot be reached by phone

Not a legitimate business.

I've repeatedly emailed over a period of months to cancel a subscription, and received no response other than an automated reference number.

Their phone number goes to another company ("Now mobile") who I was told are a sister company. The person who answered the phone was unhelpful and claimed that emails were dealt with by some entirely different team. The only thing they could suggest was to write to the support email address again.

I've sent them one more email to see if they will respond, otherwise I'll have to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

AVOID - Hopeless customer service

The customer service is hopeless, do not bother!

Firstly, if you want to change your payment method, you must start a new plan. If this is only a few days after your plan resets, you end up paying for two plans for the same number. Double charged for one service!

Secondly, from 17/11 to 20/11 my SIM was not working. Despite having 4G and Signal, my data was not working and I couldn't receive or make calls. As this SIM card is for my work phone, it was very inconvenient and affected my business operations.
On 20/11, I called the customer service. Despite my plan re-starting on the 8th, and me being able to use the SIM until the 17th, I was informed my plan had never been added that month. The phone agent told me they could add it now, but i'd already made the decision to leave and transfer my number to another provider, though this couldn't be completed until 27/11. The telephone agent then told me that if I was leaving then they couldn't add my SIM plan on, but I would get the £5 refunded within 14 days. He also seemed to laugh when I said that I still wanted to leave even though he'd add the plan on now.

I was therefor left without data and phone calls for a further 10 days until switching to a competent provider. Luckily I could hotspot from my personal SIM.

I waited 14 days and have yet to recieve my refund. I've just spoken to your customer service representative who told me the refund was never requested, and I now have to wait a further 14 days for my refund.

Though the money is very minimal, the pricinipal still stands that throughout my time with you i've been double charged and now charged for a service i never recieved.

Not even worth 1 star

Why do i even have to give 1 star that deserves minus 5? Out of the blue, sim card stops working and they continue to charge!!

Used to be great for my PAYG.

As many others have stated, all has been fine for me for a couple of years up until the past week. Suddenly I can no longer receive texts. I can send them OK, so presumably not a signal issue (although signal is weak). Whilst I don't use the phone much as a phone (I still have a landline), texts are crucial to carry out simple tasks such as online banking and shopping.
Forced into buying a Lebara SIM, and as if by magic, I had 17 texts waiting for me. No idea what's going on with RWG, but at least their customer services was open on a Saturday, and provided my PAC code.

Don't bother!

Ordered a SIM card, 7 days on nothing received. Online order status is still showing as "received", and my request for an update has gone unanswered.

I’m in Australia a can’t connect to mobile network despite being in credit. No reply from my emails to customer services! Contacting RWG by phone directs you to Nowmobile helpline who haven’t been able to fix the problem. Can’t port to another provider as I’m not in the UK. Hopeless customer service!

RWG-Lite £30/yr (if they or you last that long)

1. N.B. Their subscriptions are per Calendar Month (as some others have found when they stop working at month end) So buy it at the beginning of the month not near the end. It runs out at the end of month 12 and month 1 is the Month you buy it (even if it was the last day of the month) not 365 days after you pay your money.
2. Customer Service is Non-Existent. Impossible to get refund so always pay by Credit Card or Direct Debit and get the Bank to sort it out.
3. Default Customer Service Language is Welsh (I think...Just incoherent gabble), eventually got it in English by pressing a few keys at random.
4 It is really just NOW, RWG exist in name only. Even their customer service number - 669 is NOW.
5. OKAY if you just want a simple no nonsense contract on a widely available network (EE) that works which it mostly does.
6. Says you can renew after 12 Month but they don't tell you or prompt you, it just stops working and reverts to your vastly more expensive PAYG credit if you have one. You just have to buy another 12 Months worth but do it on or soon after the beginning of the month and then WAIT FOR 3 DAYS. DON'T DO IT BEFORE!
7. It takes 3 days after paying for it to appear if you are lucky so that is at least 3 days lost from the beginning of the month. I had to ring NOW not RWG to get it posted on to my account.
8. Whatever you do...DON'T have 2 SIM's on the same account and email address ... System can't cope with it ADD-ONs and subscription randomly go to either SIM despite you telling it which one you want.
9. Can't do anything in a hurry, e.g. You need a Data Add-On as Broadband is broken.
10. In short..A very strange company hiding behind a fancy Website so just go straight to NOW and forget about this lot cos they forget about you once they have your money.

This company should be shut down by the…

This company should be shut down by the regulators, I don't know how they are allowed to trade. I had had two Sims from them and had nothing but trouble. I got cut off completely for days at a time. I contacted RWG and got reconnected, I then got disconected again. RWG sent me a new Sim card that worked for about 6 months and then cut off completley. I contact RWG but got no replies and could see many other people online where suffering the same fate as I, cut off and unable to contact anyone. The second Sim I had was still functioning on my phone, it had £2.50 of data left on it, I paid £10 for data on the phone and got an email saying I had paid, I tried to use the phone straight away but it had been cut off straight away after I had paid the £10. I contacted RWG asking for a refund or a reconaction but got no replies for weeks. In the end I had to issued a County Court small claim to get my money back. DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH RWG.

Non-existent customer service

Non-existent customer service. Just impossible to get a response from, meaning that by signing up with RWG it seems that you're essentially agreeing to pay them forever. Recommend you learn from my mistake, and avoid this company - I'm sure there are plenty of other providers out there who can be trusted with your card details!

NO SUPPORT No calls possible on two sims

AVOID.
Really, neither of my sims can receive or make calls but multiple emails don't get answered.
even when a sim is working often people just hear it ringing and ringing. On testing I find that too.
Ok, so some people find things work and write a good review. they'll soon be back when things go wrong.

RWG - non existent service.

I have emailed RWG twice, 18th & 24th October, to enquire about obtaining 2 sims from them transferring my current mobile number on a PAYG basis.

As yet, 28th October, I have not had one single reply from them.

RWG/NOW stay clear of them

Wished I'd never ordered a SIM form RWG who then turned out to be NOW Mobile. 5 days for sim to arrive, 7 days to port number...No compensation despite ofcom saying I was entitled to it so made a complaint. Emailed RWG and NOW and received no response from either.

This company is a scam

There's no way to cancel my subscription online. I emailed customer service and they didn't even open the email. I phoned them and they would not send me a confirmation email that my subscription was cancelled. They made every effort to fob me off. I have raised a complaint with my bank to get 3 months subscription back. This company is a scam!!!!

Appalling

Edit Update 20.10.25 Despite being ignored for so long and told twice I would lose the 12 months prepaid, I have today received an email saying they have transferred the balance of the contract to the second number with them, all as requested. They also apologised on X for the delay. HOWEVER, this has not worked and there is no service.

-----------------------------

Original Revue

I have a 2 year prepaid contract with RWG and the first year was good, so after 12 months I took out another for a second number. Very soon afterwards the network service changed to NOW and from then everything went downhill.

Making and receiving calls and voicemail is so hit and miss where I live, 90% miss. Because of this, as the first contract was recently nearing its end, I tried to swap it to the balance of the second SIM, but it's apparently non-transferable, or refundable, even within the same account.

I have tried every method to get a response and PACs from RWG to cut my losses and move the numbers elsewhere for a usable service.

RWG do not respond to their website contact form, to emails, or social media and the office number on their website is out of service. I called NOW and also emailed for a PAC code, which never came. I kept persevering.

Finally today via phone to NOW, I obtained PAC codes for both numbers and am moving to a service I know and trust as reputable.

Avoid this company to avoid lack of service and frustration.

Suspect RWG are no longer operating...

Required a new SIM card to reactivate a number on RWG PAYG. Emails were unresponded to. The new contact number went through to Now Mobile on each occasion the operator claimed they were struggling to hear me due to a poor line (I tested it by leaving myself a voicemail and it was fine?!). Thereafter, after checking the poor reviews on here, followed advice and directly messaged Now Mobile via the webside instead. Over three sessions they were helpful, I was able to get a replacement SIM & they had this connected to Now Mobile. Shan't be going near the RWG Mobile site again. Wouldn't hesitate to use Now Mobile direct messaging in future.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service - they just ignore emails. If you phone you get through (eventually) to Now Mobile (not RWG) but they couldn't help me. Although I have a signal, I cannot make or receive voice calls on both my RWG sims. At first, I thought it was a problem with the SIM so got a new SIM but had the same problem with the new SIM. Yet I have another SIM (also via EE network but a different company) and I can make and receive calls on that so it's not my location.
