Good once but now - Just Don't Bother

I had been with RWG Mobile for a few years and the customer service has been fairly good.

Recently, in common with many other people this support has become non existent. I had a problem with my account being unable to make calls. Twice I contacted RWG, once by email and once by their online contact form. A big fat zero response to either, even after several weeks and no reply from their support phone number either.

Therefore, I consider that this company is not worth bothering with now, unless you want to be stuck on your own with no solution to your issue.

No response…

I emailed them on Monday to reactivate my sim. No answer yet, sent a chaser email too. Looks like something is going badly wrong there.

Was good - not now though

I've been with RWG since September 2022, on PAYG non-contract. Until recently all has been fine. However, recently people have experienced problems calling me - they get no dial tone and I get no missed call message. The Newport number beginning 01633 has a voicemail, directing you to either a London number or 669, the NOW customer support number. I was told by them that indoor reception is not as good as outdoors which may be an explanation. I emailed RWG customer support on 27 March, received an auto reply with a reference number but have yet to hear back. Does anyone know if I change provider will RWG refund any credit on my card?

No problems

I note there are a lot of negative reviews, but I have had no problems. I ordered the sim in late Feb, it arrived two days later, when fitted it worked straight away, no need to activate it. At only £2/m, I'm not aware of a cheaper alternative. What's not to like.

RWG Mobile

I bought a Teaser SIM from RWG in November 2024. Two arrived so I rang to ask if there had been an error, I was told no it was part of the offer (I hadn't seen that) but one only lasts for one month - not a lot of point having it.

Since putting the SIM into my old mobile, I just wanted to use it as a spare and keep it in my car, I am sure I tried ringing a number and it worked. I tried it yesterday first ringing my smart phone number, it was a message saying I could't use it to connect to that phone. I then tried my landline, same again. I was very puzzled as I get an email each month to say that they had received my £2 payment. I rang the number on their website, a recorded message said the number had changed, so I noted it and rang it - Nothing. I tried 669 again nothing. A bit later on, still on their (NOW) SIM card I tried 669 again and was in a queue, I held on. A male voice with an accent (not welsh) speaking quickly and quietly answered and it was Now Mobile. I asked him to speak louder and more slowly, still had difficulty hearing him (I am not deaf). He eventually confirmed that I was speaking with RWG. I tried to explain what the problem was and he said the SIM wasn't activated and there was no activity on my account. Oh, really! I asked how come money was being taken from me each month with an email confirmation, I said I wanted to cancel my account but the website needed another password which I didn't have but that I was already in my account. He told me to email RWG, I asked if they would answer he said yes. I didn't hear back. This morning I looked at my account again and saw that I could go into my subscription (rather than cancel account) I did so and cancelled it. I have paid £12 for nothing - ok not a huge amount in the scheme of things but I could do without wasting my OAPension. I have sent another email explaining what happened and asked for a refund as I had paid for just a bit of card/metal. I am waiting for a response.

Goodbye RWG

I joined RWG as I thought it was an independent company with good customer service. I have found that the top-up/balance enquiry number, 669, has no connection and that when calling customer services you are offered service options in many different languages, which does not speak of a UK or 'proudly Welsh' company. After holding for a while waiting for the call to be answered, I was informed 'we have high call volume, please call back later, goodbye'. Ok, goodbye RWG...

If you like throwing away money, go ahead…

If it was possible to give this totally useless company a negative star, I would. They only know how to take money through promises. What surprises me is that OFCOM allows a total bogus company like RGW to continue to trade. Painful to see hard earned cash being stolen by the one-man show by the name “Tim”.
Useless, useless, useless….beyond words. Should be shutdown and prosecuted for fraud.

Avoid

Ordered a SIM for £18, it arrived very slowly via 2nd class post. The packaging and instructions are proudly Welsh, but contain outdated numbers and useless information.

The SIM itself had a Swedish number and it was completely impossible to activate or contact anyone from the company.

Dont touch with a barge pole!

They posted SIM by 2nd class post took over a week to get to me.
I was planning to use in a LoRa gateway needing only a few k data per month, put it into a device using recommended APN, nothing connected.
Tried to call support, number redirected, tried the new number, no answer.
I wish I'd read other reviews first!

Gamma PAC vs NOW PAC

RWG has gone downhill pretty darn quick. They are in breach of the rules of providing pac codes within minutes (eSIM on gamma). Not Gammas fault, just crap RWG as they are not a partner of Gamma anymore… someone pulled the plug?
Luckily I found a post about a contact email at gamma and got my PAC code within 1 hour of emailing them. Have now left and moved my number to another provider.
I still have another RWG sim which is on NOW platform and the text pac works so just getting a new pac every 30 days should the service fail.

24 Month Sim Rip off!

I purchased a 24 month sim on 30th March 2023, the Sim wasn't delivered or activated until early April, yet they cancelled the contract on 1st March stating I had used 24 months - needless to say, I have requested my PAC code and will be moving provider, the customer service person was not helpful at all, the service wasn't great either - AVOID

No service, no support. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Edited: Calling DOES NOT work at all. CS non existant. I never had this problem with other SIMs in the same phone / places.
Support numbers don't work and you won't get a response via email, office is in Newport, it is a virtual office. There is no one there!!!
PAC code did not work. Unable to transfer number anywhere else.
Tried them for 2 weeks, not a good experience.
2FA texts are hit and miss too. Don't expect to do any banking when you need to.
Seems like a guy in a bedroom running a mobile operator.
OFCOM not interested - another ineffectual and useless UK regulator!!!!!
Comms Ombudsman say wait 8 weeks, then they can deal with it as complaint within 6 months!!
Unable to bank or do anything!
Resigned my self to the fact I'll lose contact with lots of people and spend months trying to change mobile number with every bank, business and friend.
***ENSURE YOU CALL OFCOM TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS COMPANY**
This may not help you directly, but will ensure others don't suffer the same fate. Companies like this need to be closed down by the regulators.
OFCOM knows nothing of this company being run by Now Mobile..............

Good, Bad and !

Hi All, I agree with everything that has been said. From receiving a good service and response from the customer service to now totally abysmal. In fact a few weeks ago RWG went dark no service at all on three of my phones in different locations and customer service number ending as soon as it was called from any line, no apology or explanation (yes I know I'm being naïve in expecting an apology). Since then downhill fast. I'm wondering whether they are about to cease. Anyway regarding obtaining a PAC, I sent PAC to 65075 many times which did not work instead it returned the msg invalid port out code. Tried a number times. Emailed support, tumbleweed ! Called many times but waiting up to 30 mins and calls simply ended. However as I had a third sim tried and managed to get through to a human after a long wait and requested a PAC code, result! My tip is to keep trying as painful as it is and if you are fortunate to have another RWG sim, try from that number. Not guaranteed but worth a try if you still have the patience.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

purchased a sim January 6th and was charged but the following month was charged again, in full inc. £9 p&p. After countless phone calls, as no sim had arrived, it finally arrived 2 months later. Failed to get a refund of the additional costs charged. Ended up cancelling contracts. £20 out of pocket.... BE WARNED

No response from emails - are they going under?

Currently trying to port my number but the PAC code doesn't come through. Tried to contact them via email many times since at least January, and submitted through their online form 2 weeks ago and got no response. What's going on? They used to be quick at this 1-2 years ago.

Another issue, since last year, for some reason it's really hard to make and receive calls. I've since switched to another sim and it works fine so i know it's not my phone that is causing the issue. I have yet to talk about this though.

I am grateful however for the sim i purchased years ago as it gives me a bite sized amount of minutes, texts and MBs monthly for free after an inital £5 top up but calls are pretty much useless right now.

No SIM sent, no contact received

Paid upfront, no SIM sent, no response to emails or online form contact, not much chance of a refund. From other reviews it looks like the company is struggling.

*Edit:
Three weeks later I still had no response, but managed to get a chargeback via my card. Rubbish.
