Defective Stun Gun shocked me

sabre

My husband had purchased the Sabre S-1009 stun gun for me. We had only turned it on about five or six times and zapped it twice (into the air to see if it is working). One night around midnight, I took our dogs outside and I had taken the stun gun with me. The flashlight wouldn't turn so I tested to see if it would zap and nothing. I tried several times and still...nothing. I just thought it had lost its charge. When I came back in and went to set it down, it shocked me. I am pretty sure I had turned it off (but possibly not...either way, it should not have mattered). I was holding just the handle.....I was not touching any part of the metal strips on the side of the top part. My hand is small and it's impossible for me to be holding the handle and to touch the metal at the same time. I definitely know that I was not pressing down on the red button. I never would have guessed that there would have been any possibility of getting shocked. It was strong enough that I had dropped / threw the stun gun. It hurt pretty bad and my hand went numb for about 10 minutes. It’s clearly defective and I don’t know that by testing the taser part several times with nothing happening caused it to build up a charge and then it happened to go off as I was setting it down. I have no idea what happened or why it would shock my when I was just holding the handle and was not pressing the button. I contacted Sabrered about four times before they finally responded back to me (that is problematic when they just ignore you when you’re been injured by one of their products). I tried to exchange it and over the phone I was told they would exchange it but in writing (in an email), they said they would only exchange it if they found something wrong with it. Why would I have contacted them if there was nothing wrong with it. They should have sent me a replacement along with a return envelope / box so that I could send the defective stun gun back to them. In my opinion, sabered is not a trustworthy company. I will never buy anything from them ever again. I have told everyone I know about this situation and I will continue to tell anyone in the future that I meet and I will continue to leave negative feedback for this company. I just wanted it replaced and they refused to do that. Someday when I get the courage, I will test it and if I get shocked again…at least I will have proof especially if I get injured from it.

Bought stun gun from their website

Bought stun gun from their website. Double the price of other sellers. Stops charging and wont fire. Had email exchanges with an employee who tried to blame it on me! Unbelievable. They don't care about their products or you, once they have your money! 50 of nothingness now and wormed their way out of my warrantee. I would never deal with this dishonest outfit again. Bad experience.
