I had my first ever experience with needing to use travel insurance due to an unexpected illness and hospital visit in Vietnam recently, and the staff at safety wing (namely Denisha) were incredibly patient and helpful with me when I was trying to arrange contact between insurance company and the hospital. Despite language barriers and time zones and my phone not allowing any international calls, Denisha arranged contact over WhatsApp instead and this helped significantly at a time when I was vulnerable and exhausted. Thank you!!

I signed up for a health insurance. The review of my documents took a day, then I was subscribed already. I chose the option for ca. 150 USD per month (health remote I think) and the benefits for that look good. I didn't have to make use of the insurance yet, but time will tell if it works as expected. The customer service was good.

Easy to buy and clear to understand. Super fast in response. Also does not require destination or end date of travel. Perfect for anyone on an open date journey.

This process was so easy I was surprised there was no catch. I enrolled got digital cards that are printable and the plan seems clearly defined. Great first experience for sure.

Fortunately we didn't end up needing it but overall experience with booking the insurance and the provided services seem great. I recommend it! Went 3 weeks to Thailand.

I'm a 2+ year customer. Small claims — no problem. Larger claim ($1,000+) — runaround. I submitted a fully documented surgery claim with itemized invoices, receipts, a surgeon's statement, CT scans, etc. Got the same copy-paste response many times: "cannot be performed in one single day." No specifics, no medical reasoning, no answers to my direct questions.

What doesnt go wrong! Zero humanity, a profit first, people last approach. NOT there when you actually need them, non-existent compassion for life's inevitable plot twists even when you inform them of whats going on. No coverage due to very cheeky "pre-existing" definitions that are based on PROBABILITY NOT PROOF, even when you have ZERO experiences with a disease that is a COMPLETELY NEW diagnosis, also no accommodation when things do not go according to plan. The best thing about this option, is the easy of signing up for it and their responses are ok (after almost 9 follow ups in some cases). Truly not my best experience and at times when you actaully NEED insurance, this is not the empty and heartless "policy only" approach you would want when you are already suffering and empathy would go a lot further. Check the fine print. Im sure some people might have good experiences, but in claiming, appealing, payments, support, etc -- I've been *deeply* disappointed on multiple occassions. I wish I loved them because they do seem they have a lot to offer, not sure if my case was just one that warranted such lack of coverage, support and humanity.

Excellent and responsive support! They quickly cleared up all my doubts about coverage for my trip to Europe. The Essential Plan is affordable and the process is very simple. Highly recommended!

If i could give a zero i would. I've had this insurance for about 10months and never had to use it until now when i got a retinal detachment and had to undergo emergent eye surgery. They had me speak to their partner IMG who, along with safetywing confirmed that given the emergent nature i would have to pay out of pocket,do the procedure as soon as possible and i would get reimbursed after. I went ahead and paid almost 8,000 euros out of pocket for the procedure, submitted everything they've asked for and they're now refusing to honor what they've said and reimburse me. Not only did i almost lose my eye, but now they're making this experience even worse. This is so illegal and malicious and is exactly why insurance companies and so hated and not trusted. But i will be seeking legal advice guaranteed.
