A Very interesting and informative…

A Very interesting and informative display of Viking history. We recently learned thru DNA that my husband had Viking blood, hence our trip to Iceland. We Especially enjoyed a conversation we had following the tour with a very knowledge & kind guy, a scholar, from Nashville! What was his name? We wish we could have spent more time with him.
Thank you

In Reykjavik? Saga's Museum is a must.

If you are in Reykjavik don't miss the Saga Museum. It's on the waterfront and walking distance to many other sites.

We visited the National Museum, The Perlan, Thingvellir National Park and of course many other natural sites. But the Saga Museum was a true jewel on the visit, from the story of Raven Floki to more modern times. The carefully crafted scenes were incredible and the audio guide expanded upon the reading at each location. Once through and you can dress like a viking, and then check out the best gift shop in Iceland (no joke you will not find a better replica of Thor/Jesus statue anywhere else.) If you in town don't miss the Saga Museum.

I very much enjoyed the museum

I very much enjoyed the museum. I brought my eight year-old grandson and 10-year-old granddaughter along with me. My grandson absolutely loved all the displays, and my granddaughter covered her eyes because some of them are quite frankly gory. The highlight for both of them was the Viking dress up stuff available at the end. I swear they spend an hour in there putting on different costumes and knight in each other. That was worth the price of admission. As an adult, I found it educational and interesting

Very helpful

I had a wonderful visit to this museum and purchased some tiny village houses amongst other items in their shop. I thought I’d be able to get them in other gift shops in Iceland but never saw them again.
When I returned home to England I contacted the museum by email and the lovely manager responded sending me pictures of all the new houses they had in stock so that I could choose more. They were then shipped over to me and I now have the most amazing little village.
I can’t thank them enough, so very helpful.

Worthwhile exploration into Viking times

I was very glad we took time to go through this museum. The exhibits were very well done; probably the best wax impressions I’ve seen. Chronological scenes depicting real Viking life, beliefs, history and important historical characters were displayed. It was very thorough and did not sugarcoat how hard life could be. The staff were personable and courteous. If you have the time, about 1 hour, I highly recommend that you take a walk-through.

Fantastic memento

I was very pleased to receive my Saga Museum programme promptly after the first one was sent back to you due to insufficient address. After contacting you and sorting out my address everything went smoothly.
I regretted not buying this item when I visited your wonderful museum in February and was delighted to find out I could order online.

A really nice museum with plenty of information about the Viking settlers in Iceland. It also helps to have an audio guide as you go around.
Also lots of viking costumes to try on.
It is hard to believe that they could fight, with the weight of the chainmail, helmets, shields and swords.

Great little museum, excelent displays

Great little museum which only took around 30 minutes to get around. This ensured the little one did not get bored. Models were so realistic and the audio guide was captivating and informative. Little one especially loved the Viking dress up section at the end which gave opportunity for plenty of photos (free of charge) and the gift shop. Excellent location near to the harbour area and easily accessible by bus
