Fantastic South Indian food
Fantastically delicious food from a large South Indian menu. Great for vegans. Pleasant, calm atmosphere, and fast, friendly service. Can't recommend highly enough!

This is a handy little restaurant on Panton Street when you need to find a place that does vegetarian food in the middle of the tourist traps of the West End of London. It was nearly empty the evening we ate there. It is a bit pricy but offers a wide choice of Southern Indian dishes some of which veer towards Chinese style. Plenty of Vegan options. Those who need to avoid onions and garlic have plenty of choices. The spicing is mild, so it is probably good for kids. They had lots of baked breads that were rather greasy but rice choices were better. The Traditional Udupi Thali offered variety and was sufficient as a whole meal. The Brinjal Bhagee was delicious. I have no idea about the other restaurants in the group. It was interesting but I will not repeat the experience unless I need to entertain vegetarians/vegans again.
Service and atmosphere this restaurant is very unique - the music in background is highly depressing and you are served by three people? Little confusing to me. However the gentleman who took our order, he was very polite and helping us to choose the right dish, asking us if everything all right - yes, very good attitude however her female colleague was kind of impolite. We just finished our dinner and she was already waiting there with the card machine (we didn’t ask about the bill yet), she told us the service charge is not included so how much we want to pay - little bit “forcing” us to give a tip? This is not the professional way, based on her attitude we decided not give any tips. After the payment, she had angry face, didn’t even offered us receipts. I believe it can be a great place if this lady gets more experience of customer service or even better to not working there. I can’t recommend this place…
