Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 43 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with recent software updates, finding them to be detrimental to their phone's functionality and user experience. People reported numerous issues, including rapid battery drain, apps not working correctly, and difficulties with basic phone operations like transferring photos or restarting the device. The updates were often described as making the phones nearly useless, with some even considering switching brands despite being long-time users. Reviewers also highlighted frustrating changes to the user interface, such as altered layouts, smaller icons, and awkward navigation for settings and notifications. Some people mentioned issues with specific features like the camera not working properly, problems with predictive text, and the forced integration of unwanted applications. The overall sentiment was that the updates complicated usage rather than improving it, leading to a less intuitive and more frustrating experience for many.

It should be 0/5

It should be 0/5. I bought a new Samsung in Feb 2025 and now it is no longer the phone with key and important features that I actually bought it for, so I need a full refund. Worse is they never warned us. Who is their quality management team - what quality checks were done? I have never seen so many issues and glitches. How could they launch something like this riddled with failures? They took away key features and locked in key features that waste my time and I have no choice to remove them. The swipe down which I used about 20+ times a day is now too many steps and a waste of time and energy when it was the key feature that I use for personal and work reasons. Too many locked in features too that have and waste large space on this new "shortcut" - definitely not a shortcut anymore menu. Bring back choice. Bring back efficiency. Bring back swipe down as a true shortcut. And don't waste space with large oversized icons. Any fixed icon should have smaller size for those of us who dont actually use them very often or at all Now there is a limit on the ones I can add to view easily in a tiny box too sinc eso many large icons waste space. It is extra swiping, too. Need my money back! Need to leave Samsung as is now worse. It just become another glorified Apple (which I do not like). I lost the very reason I chose the phone in Feb 2025. Shocking how they didnt warn us by email or text before launch that they overhauling their platform features on a massive scale. I need a refund ASAP! It is no longer the reasons I actually bought the phone for. Time to find a brand more honest and transparent. Time to find a brand that does quality checks before launching an update riddled with problems. It often can't handle basic internet slides bars unless you hide the keyboard now. It opens pages more slowly. It is stealing rapidly battery power. I bought Samsung for it's battery efficiency and now it's also taken so many control features and put it into auto mode. I lost so many settings to my entire phone I set up and customised my work and personal needs. The modes and routines have been a disaster that was uploaded "for us" as automatic. That is removing choice. Don't like how control was taken away that now battery saver is auto uploaded to lock me out of most icons. Why are you taking away choice and control the very reason your brand was knownfor was its efficiency m, battery and ease of access - all that gone now!!! It is also forcing with all these auto changes that make it even worse in wasting pur time to recustomise our phones, habit and routines. Too many new fixed options, too many auto designs made for us. All your autoload, AI a changes now steel massive amounts of battery. Worse, I use and need Grammarly and new update is glitching that, too which I use for texting, grammar and checking. Grammarly is knkw to be a good add-on. Total failure of a launch.

I wish I had never updated

I wish I had never updated. I can't read the damn battery percentage anymore and it takes forever for my phone to register I'm swiping from the top corner & my camera doesn't look like my camera amymore. Wtf Samsung?

And honestly, it feels like I'm having to charge my phone every couple of hours now. Total bs!

I am the only one giving 5 Star

I am the only one giving 5 Star - why? Because it's a perfect example where hornblende changes were introduced without consulting with users. There is no way anyone would love updates as stupid as batterie level where you can't simply see the %. I could go on and on but instead I decided to buy different brand. Well done Samsung I started with S7 and no other brands until today. Thanks for the journey and good bye!

Usually love these updates

Usually love these updates, but genuinely this is the worst update ever, seems like eveything has gone backwards, app page is terrible like old Samsungs, battery last at most 3/4 of a day no matter how much i use my phone .where before this update i could easily get 2 days of use, just make everything that was there better instead of absolutely destroying these phones, im genuinely thinking for the first time in maybe 9 yrs of looking at other brands, absolutely terrible update imo

Absolutely terrible update

The latest update is terrible !
Why make changes just for the hell of it ? There was absolutely no need.
The new layout is awful.
Screen icons have been unecessarily changed and now look cheap and nasty.
The battery charge level indicator should have been left as a clear numerical value surely ? It is now in a shaded oval that makes it hard to see.
The battery runs down at clearly increased speed now and needs to be charged more often.
During charging the phone becomes hot. This did not happen previously and, surely, cannot be acceptable.
To make matters worse, I rely on using the alarm on my phone in a morning and, over the years, have had no issues. Yet today, the alarm did not go off. Fortunately I woke up as usual, only to discover that my phone had turned itself off overnight !
It had been on charge and was, indeed, fully charged ! How could this happen ? More to the point, why did this happen ?
I have had a Samsung for many years and have not experienced any problems until this latest update was forced upon me.
This needs to be rectified asap.

If I could give this a zero I would.
Battery life is now not clear and cannot always see if it is chsrging. Battery drains too quick. I have medical apps on phone snd this is not good.
Screen colour has inverted to black and app icons are cartoonish & idiotic.

Please reverse this upgrade ss it is awful. Nothing good to say about it.

The latest update is awful

The latest update is awful. Why on earth do I have to go into settings to turn the volume off? The mute button has disappeared. The icons look tacky now. The search bar is at the bottom and should still be at the top. Oh I could go on and samsung will do nothing about it grrrrrr oh and forgot everything after the update on my phone was black until I figured out how to sort it.

Awful and unnecessary continuous updates

Awful and continuous updates even on my brand new phone!!
Changing related to your system I agree with. But changing my while screen look and customisation who gave you the right to? And this changes evey now and on. I didn't ask for anything.

Many of the changes feel unnecessary to me, especially the screen look updates, which I find annoying. Plus things that take up extra memory space without adding value to my experience.

Pfff..

Give me back my phone!

If I wanted to have an iPhone, I would have bought one! The battery does not even last a day, the pictograms changed into hideous pics, the battery status is very unclear, the dropdown list is unclear etc etc. I want to have my old phone back!

That's it for me

That's it for me, I've always had Samsung to avoid the iPhone. This update has just ruined samsungs simplicity and now I'm going to have to find a phone that is just simple to use. Any ideas? From the reviews I think a lot of people are doing the same. No more samsungs for me

Not enjoying the update.

Not enjoying the update.
Notifications don't work on lock screen, even though they are set to show. Means that you have to constantly access your phone to see if you have notifications.
Hate the 2 pull down notifications bar. Can't find easily what I need now.
Can't see what, if anything, has been improved.
