Poor quality food
I contacted San Lorenzo regarding a recent visit on Saturday 8th November. My husband and I took our son and fiancé out for a special treat.
We were very disappointed with the food but didn't say anything at the time as we didn't want to spoil the evening for our son. I also didn't feel it was fair to write a poor review when we had not given the restaurant an opportunity to address the issue at the time, so I emailed to make you aware of my disappointment. I had a message that they had tried to contact me twice but my mobile number was wrong. I gave them a landline number but heard nothing.
We ordered the meat platter to share and found some of the meat to be quite dry as if it had been left out for too long. The mozzarella was not top quality in my opinion (not melt in the mouth). I had the pomodoro bruschetta which was the worst I have ever had anywhere! The bread was soggy with mushed tomatoes like baby food and quite bland, awful.
The other starters were fine as far as I'm aware. My husband and I both had the Ragu beef for main which was very rich but nice, however was let down by much of the pasta being stuck together, poorly cooked.
This was not the standard of food that we expected or have experienced on previous visits and at over £220, I expected better.
