Zero stars if I could

RE:Leela:

Leela, this is a polished version of the email you sent me privately. The difference is that the private version also asked me to take the review down. I notice that part didn't make it into the public reply.

The workflow explanation is also worth examining. When I contacted support on March 5 about the untouched applications, the response was "I've informed the operations team" and a promise to personally ensure they were completed. No mention of a workflow bug. No mention of a system requiring all five applications before triggering. That explanation appeared for the first time a week later, after this review was posted.

A bug didn't ignore three emails, a text, and a chat message requesting account deletion over the course of a week. A bug didn't put someone on the phone who couldn't understand the word "cancel." And a bug didn't decide to ask a customer to remove an honest review rather than simply own what happened.

The review is accurate. It will remain accurate regardless of how many times the story around it gets edited.

Original review:
Zero stars if I could. Scale.jobs is a service that promises to apply to jobs on your behalf. Here is what actually happened.

I signed up for the free trial, which provides 5 job delegations. I submitted 2 jobs. After 48 hours, neither had been touched. My account manager texted me and promised she would get them done. Another 24 hours passed. Still untouched. 72+ hours, two simple tasks, zero action.

I requested account deletion and data removal. I sent an email to their privacy team citing Section 8.5 of their own Terms of Service. No response. I sent a follow-up email the next day. No response. A week later, I sent a third email, a text message, and a message through their chat system.

The response I finally received was a phone call from someone who could barely speak English on a connection so poor I could hardly hear them. Rather than addressing my deletion request, they repeatedly insisted they were going to complete the two jobs I had submitted over a week earlier. When I told them, multiple times, that I wanted my account cancelled and my data purged, the person did not understand or would not listen. I had to raise my voice and eventually hang up.

To summarize: they couldn't complete 2 job applications in 72+ hours for a trial customer. They ignored multiple written requests to delete my account. When they finally called, they tried to retain me rather than honor my request. Their own Terms of Service promise data deletion "within a reasonable time." A week of being ignored is not reasonable.

If they can't handle two tasks for a prospective customer, imagine what paying customers experience. Save your money.

Updated revert:
Mick, I did ask in my private email whether you’d consider taking the review down after the issue was resolved. Once you declined, I respected that and didn’t pursue it further. I shared the rest of the context here so prospective customers can see the full picture. It wasn’t my intent to hide anything, just that the request had already been declined and didn’t add relevance to the public response.

As mentioned earlier, we will send a confirmation email within the next 24 hours once your account and data have been fully purged.

Original Revert:

Hi Mick,

Sorry you had a negative experience, and I acknowledge the lapse here.

The 5-application free trial was introduced only about a week ago into workflows that were originally designed for paid plans and have been battle-tested for over a year. The way the system was initially configured required all 5 trial applications to be delegated before the workflow was activated.

In practice, we quickly realized that many users like yourself, understandably want to test the service with 1–2 applications first, not all five at once. Because of that design oversight, cases like yours ended up in a limbo state where the workflow never triggered.

We identified this issue a couple of days ago and have rolled out a fix today so that even if one job is delegated, the system will activate and applications should be processed within 6 hours at most.

Given that this is an entirely new workflow layered on top of a fairly complex operational system, our sales team has also been playing catch-up and adapting in real time, which unfortunately contributed to the confusion in a few early trial cases like yours.

On the communication side, I also apologize that your emails regarding account deletion weren’t addressed promptly. Our team has been heavily focused on firefighting the above workflow issue over the past few days, but that doesn’t excuse missing your request. We will follow up with you shortly to ensure your account deletion and data removal request is handled properly.

Regarding paid customers, those workflows have been running for over a year and have gone through multiple iterations, so the experience there is generally smooth. The issues you experienced are specifically related to the new trial onboarding flow, and we expect those early issues to be fully ironed out this week.

Again, apologies for the frustration this caused, and thank you for pointing it out, feedback like this helps us catch and fix these edge cases quickly.

Scale.jobs Made My Job Hunt Easier

I’ve found Scale.jobs to be a really useful tool during my job search. The job shortlisting feature stands out, the Chrome extension makes it simple to save opportunities from different job boards in just a few clicks, which keeps everything in one place. Their tracking system is also well organized, and the periodic updates to application stages help me stay on top of my progress. Overall, it’s been a practical platform that’s made managing my applications much easier.

Below average service

They apply to random jobs. Just for the sake of applying what’s the point of it?

In today’s market the reason for getting extra help like this is to get as many applications in early. They apply very very late and they find shittiest jobs to delegate.

Even after repeatedly mentioning my needs they still do their own thing. They apply to very old jobs or like companies that don’t even sponsor because the associates lack basic knowledge on what the need is for a person living in the USA.

So what’s the point of paying so many $$$ for such a below average service?

Hi,

Could you help us identify your account so we can look into this properly? From what I’m seeing in your description, it could either be a case of an associate not being proactive enough or a mismatch in expectations about how much difference a human assistant can realistically make in the process.

The significant majority of our clients are happy with the service and the transparency we maintain when we fall short. However, a small percentage of customers come in with very different expectations around what a human assistant should do, how much initiative they should take, or what “high-quality work” should look like in their specific case. When expectations aren’t aligned, it can unfortunately put both the customer and our team in a situation neither side intended.

If you could help us locate your account, we can review the applications submitted, understand what went wrong, and take corrective action where necessary. Without that, an anonymous review doesn’t give us any way to investigate or fix the issue.

If your goal is to get the problem resolved, please share your registered email or reach out to us directly so we can look into it and address it properly.

Highly Recommend

From the anxiety of losing a job to finally finding one, Scales was an ideal partner in this process. They made it extremely easy to apply for roles. Their AI-enabled workflow for customizing resumes and cover letters is top-notch. But perhaps the best part of Scales is the people who apply on your behalf and communicate with you along the way. I would highly recommend!

Job Search Exhaustion Saviors

After struggling to find a job for over a year, I decided to try Scale.jobs and I’m genuinely so glad I did. The bank I previously worked for went through a merger and we were all let go. Around the same time, I had a baby and knew I needed a 100% remote role so I could be home with him while still maintaining the salary level I was used to.

I’ll be honest — I was very skeptical at first, especially since Scale.jobs has a foreign-based team and I wasn’t sure about sharing my information. To feel comfortable, I created a separate email specifically for this process, and that made it easy. From the start, the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with.

My client managers Anub and Uma kept everything organized and moving forward. Vishwa helped redo my resume and LinkedIn profile, and Jeena was my personal recruiter. It did take a couple of weeks initially to coordinate calls and go through everything, but that was also due to my own busy schedule.

At first, I chose to have the team save jobs for me to review before applying, but I realized it slowed things down. Once I felt confident they understood my target roles and salary expectations, I gave them the green light to apply directly — and that’s when things really took off. In the end, Jeena and her team applied to 206 jobs on my behalf until I received an offer letter.

Because of their effort, I landed my DREAM JOB: exactly the kind of role I was hoping for (aligned with my academic and professional experience), a better salary than I had before, and 100% remote. The interviews were the most stressful part (I had four rounds), but it was absolutely worth it — I’m joining an amazing company and team, and I finally feel excited about the future again.

Huge praise for Scale.jobs. They gave me the time and mental space to focus on my son and my studies instead of spending all day filling out applications and facing nonstop rejections. Highly recommend the Ultimate Bundle if you’re burned out and need real support.
