We moved across an ocean from Canada to Portugal. We worked with AMJ Campbell in Canada who packed up our condo, transported our container to a port in Canada onto a ship bound for Europe.

AMJ hands off to their business partner in Europe (Schmidt Global Relocations ) who received our shipment in Rotterdam and then arranged for transport to Portugal. There were no issues with customs clearance and final transport to Lisbon to a local Portugues relocations company and onto our home on the Silver Coast.

We started on this journey with a lot of nervous excitement but these companies are experts in their fields and made our experience truly painless.

Highly recommend Schmidt for their professionalism, constant communication and overall excellent relocation experience.

We have just moved from South Africa to Austria. We used Schmidt Global for our relocation and found them very knowledgeable, efficient, caring and very pleasant to work with. Our belongings were moved quickly and safely in the minimum time we were advised it would take. We would certainly use them again if we had to relocate.

Great job done by good professionals. We moved from Brisbane (Australia) to Madrid(Spain). All our items carefully packed and well managed end to end. Good visibility of all the process stages through the website at the customer´s personal page. Highly recommended.

We moved lock stock and barrel countries three times in our lives time. Twice from the Netherlands to Ireland and once from Asia to Ireland. All moves have been quite a daunting undertaking. We contacted Schmidt Global relocations this time and it has been plain sailing from day one.
I was initially liaising with Joost Suidgeest, director private sales, who assessed the work and look after the quote and insurance. I was immediately put at ease by the professional approach.
We settled on the price and date of the big move. Then I liaised with Gerty Oldenzaal, the Move manager, to make an appointment when the team can collect all the items. To my surprise the team packed everything again in proper protective material.

During the transport itself I was updated regularly about the whereabouts of tue truck. A few weeks later it arrived in Ireland. I was delighted it arrived safe and sound and the team was again very helpful and friendly.

This company changed the agreed schedule last minute without offering any alternative, showing no regard for my constraints or time. Not a single effort was made to accommodate the situation, nor was there any commercial gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience. Just plain indifference.

If you’re looking for professionalism or basic respect — look elsewhere. Never again.

Smith Global handled the NL side of my move from the USA to NL. I had a very good experience with them. They were helpful, responsive and responsible at every step of the way. Once my container had arrived in Rotterdam, it was delivered within a week. The movers arrived on time and were efficient and courteous. Just one item got damaged, due to a packing oversight on the U.S. side; it is easy to replace and will be compensated by insurance.
There was only one issue: my shipment included my car, which couldn't be unloaded at my new address because it is low to the ground and the angle between the container on the truck and the off-ramp was too steep to drive the car off without it getting stuck. This required a tedious work-around involving storage at and delivery by a 3rd party. This too got resolved.

Good timing, reasonable and flexible service
Nice interaction with Bianca who followed up my file.
Just extra fees of demurrage charges that was really not expected.
Hidden costs may occur but fortunately it finally didn’t apply for me.

Everything was great at the beginning with the sales department agent and the movers that picked up our things but as soon as they had our things everything was terrible.
They took the longest time possible to arrive, they made false promises about arrival time, the communication was terrible, we had to call again and again to demand answers, no one took care of us. Finally, almost all furniture had some mark or scratch on them, and some broken, our things were not rightfully handled at all. I do not recommend them.

Abismal service and hidden fees.
I'll provide 2 examples (out of many):
- Delivery was scheduled for December. It kept getting postponed, partly due to discussion over hidden fees. But we were always told we'd get a call 'the day before the delivery' (and 24 hours is fairly short notice for anyone to plan receiving several m3 of boxes!), and they thought it might be day x, but no guarantees, it could also change. Well, today is day x apparently, and out of nowhere we get a call from the driver (!!) saying he'll deliver in 10 minutes! IN 10 MINUTES!!! Complete surprise. And just yesterday I called the company and asked for an update, but zero replies from the customer rep, although I was told she would contact me or my wife.
- They actually charged us an extra fee (among others) to use an elevator past the 2nd floor! NOT a joke, a fee NOT for using stairs, but an extra fee to use a large elevator!! It's so ridiculous I want to laugh, but cannot.
I've used dozens of moving companies, also internationally, and I've never seen something like this.
Awful, awful, awful service.

I booked a full 20' container from India to Norway through Schmidt (Amsterdam office). They hired a local agent in India which is *Globe Moving* in India. They together agreed to dismantle all things and pack them in India, transport and then deliver at home in Norway including unpacking, assembling back the furniture and taking back all old garbages of cartoon boxes. They ageed to do the above in 6 to 8 weeks. But they took almost 12 weeks. Not only that...when they delivered, they did not unpack and they did not re-assemble as agreed. They reason they said was that the furnitures are new. But all my furnitures are used items and the Schmidt (amsterdam office) deliberatively cheated me and they did not unwrap the boxes and they did not assemble any furniture and they did not pick back any old packing boxes. I was left in frustrtaion since I had to all these works engaging some workers locally which cost me pain, time and money. So when you think of Schmidt (Amsterdam office)..be little more careful because they try all the ways to cheat you.....I ma not sure if *Globe Moving* is part of this dirty play but be careful when engaing these 2 parties. My best advise is look for some other alternative who are really genuine and not cheating....george winston

Not as sold !
Great Sales team but operationally a disaster. Crockery not packed properly. Chairs broken as not packed properly. Table damage due to over tightening of cargo straps. No communication despite repeated requests. Insurance doesn't work as they don't bother to respond or react. DONT USE.
