Customer service is horrific
Customer service is horrific. Their processes are archaic and nonsensical. They can't even speak to each other within the company if you have 401k and an IRA. Two different divisions and they don't communicate. I was forced to do business with them because of my employer's choice for 401k, but I would never talk to them again if I can get away.
Horrible
Horrible, I had bought some call options in the SPY, funds were in the account to place the order. I bought them and went to look at them and they were sold with out my knowledge, Schwab did not have the courtesy to to send me and email confirmation or an email through there mail box online. When I called to ask why? They told me they could do that with out my permission and I asked them to explain to me how you can sell my positions in my account with money in there? No answer from there risk department, I know I would never suggest for anyone to use Schwab, I was with TD Ameritrade and the merger happened after the break in at TD Ameritrade brokerage account. Well I have been in this account since 1998. 28 years and no respect, DO not trade or use them as your BROKER!!! You will be sorry, and the funny thing is they are charging me interest in my account that has cash and called it a loan on my money. LoL Schwab has lost my business, respect, and they have no integrity!!! Do not use them!!! And this all happened on my birthday. Thank You Schwab for costing me a round trip and never told me I had an open order that would of cost me a 4 round and would never be able to trade in there accounts!
Money in there 4days still not cleared…
Money in there 4days still not cleared you guys ------
Steer clear of this platform
Steer clear of this platform; they will do anything to make you think they are the right choice, but it will never end well. I have lost to them, and nothing was done. I know #Crop#Mines............to be the best alternative that pays and assures good returns without any problems.
If the shoe fits....
Charles Schwab referred to Trustpilot(regarding my company) as a reason they didn't want to make a transfer of money to a self directed 401k....OMG! This is beyond the realm of insanity!
Terrible service
I am in another country my phone number does not working where I am I am have serious problem to login because I can not receive a code number by the phone and I can not make phone calls. Terrible service. I can not chat because I have to login.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Charles Schwab left me without rent money for 8 months
I am posting this from New York City, New York to warn anyone thinking about trusting Charles Schwab with their money.
In my case, a check for about $900, written for my rent, was stolen from the mail and “washed” (altered) and deposited elsewhere. Charles Schwab knew it was fraud. The other bank involved (Chase) reimbursed Schwab quickly. Yet Schwab still dragged me through an eight‑month nightmare.
For eight months I was given the runaround: endless calls, repeated “investigations,” no clear answers, and no urgency at all about the fact that this was my rent money. I was treated like a nuisance instead of a victim of fraud. No meaningful help, no real advocacy, just delay and indifference over $900 that meant everything to me.
What makes this even worse is that Schwab advertises “safety,” “security,” and guarantees that they will protect you against unauthorized activity if you report it promptly and cooperate. I did exactly that. Instead of honoring those promises, they left me hanging for most of a year, while the bank that actually took the altered check had already returned the money to them.
For a giant company, $900 is nothing. For me, it meant the difference between stability and crisis. A firm that markets itself as a safe place for your money should not leave a fraud victim twisting for eight months while shrugging at the real‑life damage it causes.
In my opinion, Charles Schwab has shown that it cannot be trusted to protect ordinary people or to handle fraud claims fairly or promptly. If you are thinking of banking or investing with them, understand that when something goes wrong, you may be completely on your own.
They lied to me multiple times
They lied to me multiple times, never followed up when they said they would. The agents maybe nice but do not know what they are talking about and basically don’t care. They tell you what you want to hear but nothing is true. I never should have left fidelity. Though fidelity wasn’t helpful I don’t think they ever lied to me just to appease me. I feel so sad and betrayed by my experience. Oh well
Awful experience…
It was very cumbersome to set up and transfer money to Schwab, and even when I finally got the account funded, I attempted to purchase stocks, but they still would not let me make the purchase by saying the account had not been funded. It had been several weeks since they were given all of the financial information, and they even deposited and withdrew money from my account to verify it. In the end, I missed out on buying stocks at the price that I wanted to purchase them. Then, I called customer service again in an attempt to resolve the funding issue, and they wanted one of their agents to do my trading for me. He was very unhelpful, and instead tried to sell me other products and services rather than resolve my issue. I am done with Schwab and will work with a different company.
Exemplars of Incompetence
It took them over a year to realize to send me my father's inheritance, sent the wrong email, wasted an hour of my time with stuff that takes minutes, tried making me sign into someone else's account, forgot my phone number, and waon't let me sign into the account hey're forcing me to make
It's such a slap in the face
It's such a slap in the face. Schwab was no help at all when that retailer tried to rip me off, they actually sided with the fraud instead of helping me with the chargeback. It's infuriating when your own bank won't have your back
I really wish I'd just put that money into a #G𝘰ldbloom labs# package. it's such a relief dealing with an honest team that actually respect my money.
I'd try someone else
Website is slow, inaccurate and sometimes down completely. I like one thing about Schwab, the percentage of each equity in my portfolio, that has improved my overall performance. Otherwise, it's lame. It will give you one account summary and if you refresh it's different, by a lot! I miss Ameritrade.
Inadequate platform
Been a client for over 6 years and the platform and the trading interface are quite subpar for a big investment bank like Charles Schwab. Many intermittent issues including today which essentially brought down the whole brokerage account - none of the positions show and no trades cannot be placed. I am a swing trader and I'm seriously contemplating migrating to a different platform as they repeated fail to improve their interfaces.
i have invested using Charles Schwab…
i have invested using Charles Schwab for three years and honestly i can confidently say it is not worth it , The web and app interface is poorly designed and the customer support and ROI is below average . Quick help Earn proves it's value without needing to try too hard, Charles Schwab needs to upgrade and be more consistent and attentive to it's customers .

they don't give you any warning that their 529 won't count toward Indiana529 credit. I wasted time running my daughter's funds through their 529 which is only compatible with Kansas colleges.
They cost me $800 tax credit. When I confronted them they were unapologetic and blamed me.
If your customer has an out of state zip code, then flag a warning ⚠️.
Schwab are A holes. I closed all of my accounts with them.
My main problem with this platform is…
My main problem with this platform is why are my payouts denied without clarifications. It's more than two months already and I'm still yet to be paid. Investors should avoid this platform. I will rather stick with #Crop Mines....# where I have been earning so well and all my payouts has been constant.
Leaving Charles Schwab
I have been having problems with Charles Schwab for over a month now. I asked them to sell bonds and then issue a check. First, they missed the deadline to sell the bonds and did not tell me. I had to call them to find out why they were not sold. They said the person who was suppose to do it, just did not. I had to have them sell them another day. Once again, no communication about why they weren't all sold that day. I had to call them to find out. Then once they were sold, they were suppose to send out a check. I assumed it was done, but after 13 days, I was told the check did not arrive. I called Schwab and asked them for tracking information. They said they send it out regular mail with no tracking. I'm not even sure I believe they sent it out. They said they would put a stop payment on it and send the check out overnight. Needless to say, that did not happen. I waited all day and the check did not come. I called to find out the tracking number and was told they missed the UPS cutoff for overnight mail. They did not think it was important enough to call and let me know that. I then asked if it was send out today. They said yes, but when I asked for tracking information, I was told they don't have that information until tomorrow. Once again, I have not confidence that they even sent the check out. We all know that when you send something out UPS, you immediately get a tracking number. Why wouldn't Charles Schwab. This is not a company I want handling my investments. I will be moving my funds away from Schwab.
Demeaning refusal to mail tax info
Specifically, we needed the year end tax report re-mailed to my elder mother-in-law for filing taxes. The original was lost. We merely need the tax data mailed to the address on record, no changes. Three calls later they still denied to mail the report to address on record. They wouldn't re-mail the info upon my request because I am not the account holder. They wouldn't mail it with my mother-in-law on the phone because after answering a series of identity questions, correctly she stumbled on one question and they wouldn't verify her identity. She's 90. Then her daughter, her legal POA, called and made the request but Schwab said, "POA do not have authority to request tax info." We had to have the Navy Retirement plan advisor get us the data. We will be leaving Schwab. They caused hardship and embarrassment over a trivial request to mail tax data to the address on record. Schwab demeaned an elderly senior.
Schwab sucks. Avoid at all costs!
Schwab website and mobile app are the most poorly designed online trading platform that you can find. It is so old and clunky that it is pathetic. They purchased TD Ameritrade which has a modern, clean, user-friendly system that had everything you needed at your fingertips. Schwab threw that away and forced everyone on their crappy system in which everything you need is buried beneath page after page after page and hidden links. Total Stupid. Simple things like just searching for past transactions don't even work. You end up needing to download each and every monthly statement to find old transactions. Schwab transactions are even in English -- its shows effectively random abbreviations for the transactions they perform behind the scenes for stock splits or mergers or dividends. Lousy. Backwards. Useless.
