I worked with Segal, Cohen & Landis on a tax matter involving several prior-year IRS issues and the potential for an Offer in Compromise.

The process ultimately took longer than expected, which was frustrating at times. However, after raising my concerns, Sam Landis personally reviewed the situation and worked with me to reach a fair resolution. He acknowledged that the timeline had exceeded the original estimate and honored that estimate by issuing a refund.

The billing team was also very responsive—Danielle and their controller John followed up and ensured the refund was processed quickly.

Tax matters can be stressful, but what stood out to me was the firm’s professionalism and willingness to address concerns fairly. I appreciate how they handled the situation and the accountability they showed in resolving it.

My questions were answered promptly and efficiently! I have a better understanding of how to proceed.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Sam Landis was very informative and gave me answers to my questions in a way that was easy to understand. He was very professional, knowledgeable, quick with his response and very resourceful. My overall experience with Segal, Cohen & Landis was overwhelmingly positive and easy. Highly recommended them over others when you’re in need of legal assistance.

I cannot say enough about this firm. I wasn’t sure about getting an out of state attorney but couldn’t be happier with my decision. Mr. Landis and Ms. Lee were extremely responsive throughout the entire process. I never felt like I was bothering them, they were always happy to take my calls and answer any questions or concerns I had. And Lee (accounting) was so awesome and so friendly and professional. I was very happy with the outcome that SCL obtained for me with the IRS. Christian and Keiko took care of things very quickly and that was a pleasant surprise. The follow-up from my team was perfect and highly recommend SCL!

Mr Landis wasn't able to fully enlighten me on my question, but that is only because i do not yet (yet) live in California and my inquiries regarding state school tuition are highly specific and varied.
Still, in our brief (phone) conversation, he was friendly, highly informative, and he clearly has an expansive knowledge of tax law.
I would (and likely will) consult with him again.

Sam helped me resolve an issue with the IRS regarding a substantial amount of federal back taxes. I’m writing this review because two things stood out to me that I thought were worthy of sharing. First, Sam’s command of tax law and IRS policy. Because of the depth of his knowledge, he was able to identify options for me that I did not know existed. Second, his payment arrangements. The small initial payment and the reasonable monthly payments made retaining his services doable. Sam, again, thank you.

My experience with this firm and specifically Attorney Victoria Lee was great. She was so patient in explaining what was happening, what info was needed, potential outcomes and alternative responses to undesirable judgments. We tried to correct our issue for 2 years before hiring this firm and they were able to close our issues in under a year and apparently that's fast for the IRS. We wish we world have reached out sooner but are so happy for the resolution.
