It starts and finishes at Inverness Castle but that is where we differ, Scotland's Route 66, strongly believe that it should always start at Culloden. A visit to Culloden gives the visitor a much better understanding as to what the Highlands is about. And Like The North Coast 500, we want you to visit and enjoy our beautiful beaches, characterful villages, misty lochs, and some of the most thrilling hairpin bends in the world. Crossing through the counties of Inverness-shire, Ross and Cromarty, Sutherland and Caithness, it is named one of the top five coastal routes in the world and has become known as Scotlands Route 66.
