Reported large area of standing water…
Reported large area of standing water in the road near me. Scottish water acknowledged my email but never got any more info.
Again reported same area standing water today.
They said they have no knowledge of previous email. I copied original email.
They replied that its due to a blocked road drain and as such not their problem. They told me to contact council.
I would have thought Scottish water could have assisted by contacting the council as well. Still waiting for response to my original email. Poor show.As a taxpayer funded organization expect more.
Scottish Water could not run a bath
I needed to upgrade my existing 15mm supply to 22mm. Scottish Water (SW) told me I had to connect to a 100mm water main in the pavement outside my house.I paid their exorbitant fee and employed a contractor to do the installation. SW did the actual connection 9 weeks ago, since then my life has been shear hell, they connected me to a main that had not been used in 30 years. It was full of contamination that were damaging to our health and resulted in a reportable Public Health incident. This contaminated water completely poluted our pipes. We have been forced to bath in this contaminated water for the last 8 week. Since then SW and their No Help Desk have totally mismanaged my
complaint. I have had 3 complaint numbers and spoken to at least 20 no-helpers having to explain every time the reason for my calls, they are absolutely useless. They don't keep notes of calls or the promises they make and a nightmarish to deal with. Now they are refusing to compensate me for their negligence.
They could not run a bath never mind a Scottish Government service company.
No water & no communication
Repeatedly turning my water off with no communication. Can’t do washing can’t do dishes can’t wash ourselves. Absolutely pathetic.
Great professional service all round
Great service all round. I contacted SW about a drain issue and reported the issue on their portal. I received a call back very shortly afterwards from a polite, friendly girl (sorry I didn’t note her name). Telling me that a team would be out that same afternoon. I received a call soon after from Garry saying he’d be at my address soon. When they arrived, both guys were very friendly and helpful (sorry, I didn’t get the other guys name) and they got the issue resolved quickly.
It’s rare to find such professional, helpful and efficient service these days. Thanks very much.
Prompt professional Service to a reported blockage
I was amazed at the prompt service I received . I emailed a potential issue with the main drains outside and next day I got a phone call and an engineer on site . Kenny on site was very helpful and checked any blockages with CCTV too . I can honestly say Ive never received such a positive and professional response from any other Nationalised company, so had to commend Scottish Water for an amazing public service.
Just con men they rip off 83 year lady…
Just con men they rip off 83 year lady after they dont maintain there drains and they say nothing is there fault raw material pouring all over path ways and they dont even care
Woke up to 20 yards of effluence…
Woke up to 20 yards of effluence backflow from the stank in front of my house. Contacted the helpline, excellent and had lads sorting it out within 90 mins. Excellent. But before SW cut and paste this for the celebrating success newsletter I'm on to the council to find out if the 76 new builds up the road are tapped into a Victorian sewer. Speak soon.
First class customer service
I had an issue with discoloured water, Scottish Water were brilliant throughout, communication was fast and on point. They got the water supply fixed and sorted plumbing issues we were left with from the residue. Can't fault the service we received. Thank you
Absolutely awful communication and service. Misled, let down, and frustrated.
I contacted Scottish Water coming up on 3 days ago to report that I had discovered a slab located at my property had lifted up with what looked like sewerage or similar matter spilling out and onto my communal path which is mine and my neighbour only point of access to our homes.
I spoke an advisor and he confirmed to me it was the responsibility of Scottish Water and that he had raised a case and that it was the aim of Scottish Water to attend to the matter within 24 hours. (In the interest of fairness I appreciate that I was advised that this was an aim and not a guarantee). I was also asked to submit photographs of the issue which I agreed to do so.
I re-contacted Scottish Water Friday to ask if there was any form of update on an operative attending my property. I spoke to a female this time who advised me that I had been booked in for the following day (Saturday) to which I challenged this and asked if it could be attended sooner as it had gotten worse and the issue is located at two separate households only point of access to their properties. The female stated to me similar to
“I have looked at the photo and it doesn’t look that bad”
I can’t begin to explain how infuriating this remark was. It should not matter how bad the photo looks, absolutely no one should have to put up with human waster spilling out from drainage systems at their home. This comment felt dismissive and disrespectful. I explained to the female that the matter had gotten worse and was asked to submit more photos to which I agreed again. The female told me she would ask the dispatch team if they could attend any sooner however I never heard back from anyone at Scottish Water following this up.
A couple of hours later I phoned Scottish Water again, after I received no form of update on my case. I explained to a gentleman on the phone that I had been told that operatives would be attending my property on the following day (Saturday) to which he stated he did not know why I was told this as I was booked in to have my issue attended Friday afternoon and was advised by the gentleman not to worry as they would be attending soon.
Yesterday evening I received a text message confirming that an operative was approximately 20 minutes away from my property and was provided with a link to track the progress of the operative. I continued to track the progress as I was away from home and observed it to say “Tracking has now ended”. Given what I was told previously I assumed this meant that the operative was in attendance at my property.
I came home later in the evening to find that no one had attended my property and that the issue was still there. I had received absolutely no contact from anyone whatsoever at Scottish Water about why this issue wasn’t attended. I decided to contact Scottish Water again when I was connected with a Gentleman who advised me that the operative had been diverted to a more pressing matter which I do understand is out of their control.
HOWEVER, I received absolutely nothing in regard to communication or updates to let me know this had happened which is totally unprofessional, unacceptable and unfair as myself, and my neighbours as we have all been expecting Scottish Water to attend and help us with the issue like they said they would! The gentleman profusely apologised for the lack of communication and stated that he would ensure the case if progressed for his next shift and actioned as early as possible.
Today I contacted Scottish Water once again after receiving absolutely no communications or updates from anyone whatsoever to find out what was going on. I was told by a gentleman that again operatives had been diverted and would not be attending my property until tomorrow (Sunday - 4 days after initial report) I requested to speak with a manager as I felt completely and utterly let down and misled by the staff I had spoken to. The manager said that she would contact me with an update about an operative who was currently in the Perth area to see if he could attend however once again I received absolutely no updates despite being told I would be given one.
Overall my experience has been absolutely awful. To summarise, I along with my neighbours will have had to endure spilled sewerage at our only point of access to our homes for what will be FOUR days tomorrow following absolutely zero updates or communications from anyone whatsoever at Scottish Water. It is in my opinion, completely unfair that we have been left to deal with this for this long given that Scottish Waters aim is to attend within 24 hours.
Blocked Drain in Garden - CAS-2839274
Blocked Drain in Garden,
Scottish water called at 7pm on there 0800 number
Very efficient polite girl on evening shift dealt with this in an excellent manner and was cheery, efficient and made a stinky situation into a pleasent one in 5 mins with the assurance of someone coming out to unblock in 24hrs of call.
Blockage was outside so 24hrs and if inside house they would have been there in 6hrs
They will text your phone with updates also
How good and great is that, and all for free (if you've not called them out loads!)
2 chaps next day were great - job done in 10 mins
Well impressed
Thanks Lots
Scottish Scottish Water
I had a sewage leak & a superstar came to my rescue
I had a sewage leak and contacted Scottish Water, the girl on the phone was very polite and understanding, she took all my details and asked me to upload photos, which I did, she said that they were busy and if it wasn’t today it would be tomorrow, she asked me to make it safe for all the cats in the street, I done that and went inside for a coffee, I hadn’t finished the coffee when a young lad called me and said he’d be about 15mins, I was flabbergasted, he came seen the job and realised it was a private drain, ie council, but he said it’s only a 5 min job and cleared the blockage and cleaned the path, the chips and even the communal pavement, what an absolute super star, amazing, never complained about anything, just brilliant and I absolutely were totally stoked 😎🏴
Scottish Water attended to our concern…
Scottish Water attended to our concern at Townhead Auchterarder, PH3 1AH very quickly. Great job to the worker who came this noon time. He deserves 10 stars.
Toilet troubles
Although SW were slow to start I'm more than happy to give the five stars to Tracy in customer services who got into top gear and pushed my case resulting in a clean out of the main sewage pipe in the street. Excellent work Tracy, my thanks to you and your colleagues.
Very poor communication
Very poor communication, diversion put in place for road closure but actually goes full circle, a diversion to the point you start at . Previous problems with Scottish water last year and our business lost around £9k , utility companies dont pay compensation, so again we are losing money. Is it too simple for the company that puts the signage out actually sees if their diversion works. Phoned roads department once and Scottish water twice and no one has been in touch.
It is just terrible.
It is just terrible.
No communication, poor standards, a typical gov. ran organisation. They don't care about customers or customer concerns
Burst water main.......what burst water main
On 2nd October 2024 Scottish water were attending a burst water main one mile from my property.
They entered the one field that I own and use for my horse grazing. There was a puddle in my field which there always is when raining however always drains away within two or three days.
The employee carried out a check on the water and the sample turned pink and I was told that was a sign of mains water leak.
As a result they attended at my property on 28th October and dug a hole approximately 5x5m where they found the 33"main and no leak....all staff at site agreed there was no leak however when they called the supervisor Scott.....won't name surname...(but they make good soup.).. I heard him state to staff "just dig up his park till you find it"
Clearly annoyed at comments I spoke to male and was agreed to dig another 2x2m albeit everyone on site stated no leak......surprise surprise no Leak..... Scottish water then attempted to fill the hole ignoring broken drains and pump water into my field.I watched as they tried to put solid plastic house drain pipes in my field.
I contacted the boss Scott and voiced my concerns and opinion of him at which point he then directed all personnel off site.
I have now been left with a swamp as drains not fixed and water not out field..... Scottish water have attended and taken samples and said rain water and I must have an issue with my drains.....I didn't have but clearly do now.
Whilst digging in field they put up herris is fencing so my horses could still use field however they put up wrong way with bolts facing outward and horses could easily be injured..4months later no sign of repair...no sign of claim for time....and I see on the news they want a wage rise.....you should take there vans off them and give them horses as they are cowboys and clueless ...After all this damage there was no leak and now state mess in field is my fault
Illegally entering property and causing damage
What went wrong was due to Scottish Water coming onto my property to install a stoptap when I was away. There was no urgency to do this. They needlessly destroyed a slow-growing shrub I planted 20 years ago, and stomped all over my border. It looked like vandals had been in. They were breaking and entering, and if I had been there, none of that would have happened. I complained and the next day I heard a sound, went outside and lo and behold, a worker from Scottish Water was there, again working without my knowledge on my property. In no way have I given permission for them to be there. Why do they think this is ok?
GREAT SERVICE a& EVEN BETTER REPAIR TEAM.
Reported to SW. that the water pressure in my cottage was very low. Within a few days a technician arrived to determine where the burst was. After locating the burst in the field next to the cottage the technician told it me would be Saturday 15th. when the repair would take place. However at 5:00pm. although dark and extremely cold the repair team (Colin Sanchez and Connor Kerr) arrived with digger, equipment and flashing orange hazard lights. They notified me the water would be off for 10 mins. and at 6:50pm. they sent a text message to say the repair had been done.
What a good service and an even better repair team.
Drains across their whole network…
Drains across their whole network either burst or overflow with human waste
A property in Glasgow has been flooded with human feaces for over a week now. Scottish water attended 4 times and haven't done a thing about either fixing the drain or clearing up the human waste that flooded a next door property.
Customer service over the phone is a pick out of the hat whether you'll get somebody competent or not. The contractors can't be bothered to do their job.
Helpful Technician 21/01/25
Very helpful technician. Just before I left for the shops, my water was still off. I noticed the van on the way and thought to ask him about the supply as I came back. Upon approaching the van, the technician was extremely helpful and even followed me up Step Row to check the water out.
Luckily the water had already came back on and felt as though I had wasted his time so here’s a 5 star review for the willingness and effort to help! Thanks again
