SDM NOT TO BE TRUSTED ,STAY CLEAR …

SDM an absolute nightmare of a company and a car dealership which I have been loyal for years unfortunately.
I ordered a disability Car from Steven Grieve in August and with no communication from them within the sale I kept going in a couple of times and before I went on holiday and after and was told at start I would get the car in November therfore I went into branch before going away and after coming back, salesperson Steven saying that everything is in place .
Then received a call from them stating that they have lost the Hyundai franchise and taking all the Hyundai signs ect down tomorrow. I phoned back after calming down asking the salesperson Steven " how long have you known about this" he replied a month but he did say to me at least I still have a job ,but I don't have a car I replied.
When I did go into the showroom there was another lady in a state with multiple issues with her car which I overheard at the service desk and was told Steven was not in today. I said I just passed seen him in the office with Lisa the director,so I said I would wait. I did speak to the salesperson Steven eventually that day but no appoliigies but what I did say was how come you knew about losing your franchise some time ago and phoned me a day prior before taking the Hyundai signs down, no explanation whatsoever.
Then I went to another Hyundai dealer locally and they got me a car in 2 weeks ,which I now have and they could tell me that they knew that that sdm had lost Hyundai franchise 4 to 5 weeks prior to me knowing, absolutely obsurd .
STAY CLEAR OF THIS DEALERSHIP, Not to be trusted.I have had more issues with sdm than this but was prepared to give them a chance as they also misdiagnosed my car earlier on in the year with the parts still sitting on the passenger seat and took it out after the apparently fixed it but drove it a mile down the Road and the engine management light came back on ,then took back it in and looked over it again ,took them 2 days to comes back to me and wanted 4k to fix as they misdiagnosed it but I took it to another DEALERSHIP who fixed it for £250, was absolutely stressed out with the whole situation, there has been other issues with sdm and endless within sales and service department.I know they lost 90% of machanics and all service and all salespersons but obviously tells me this has been ongoing.
Completely lost Trust in this company and such liars and bad management and sales
STAY CLEAR FROM SDM IF YOU WANT TO GET A CAR OR YOUR CAR BACK IN GOOD CONDITION OR YOU WILL END UP WITH SERIOUS STRESS RELATED ISSUES.
Totally Dissatisfied and let Down

Car has been booked in for warranty…

Car has been booked in for warranty work under Motability on the 8th of July 2024. Appointment was booked on the 22nd of May, was assured the car would be available to come in on this date. They have no cancelled my appointment, 5 days before it was due with no alternative offered in terms of time frame or rebooking. Cancelled my appointment with a large main dealer and was told they could get it in sooner because "they were better".....clearly not. Now have to find another dealership to take the car in which has already been off the road for 2 months. It's looking like another 3 month wait, leaving my disabled mother in a car that is not suitable for this time. First and last time I'd use this company. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I recently had a highly disappointing…

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with SDM Hyundai Falkirk. The service was extremely poor, and the staff showed no respect for my time. They were unprofessional and lacked basic manners in their communication.

Firstly, the appointment I had scheduled was not honored, and I was left waiting for an extended period without any proper updates or apologies. It was clear that the staff did not value my time, as there was no sense of urgency or effort to rectify the delay.

Furthermore, the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. The staff were rude and dismissive, demonstrating a lack of basic courtesy and professionalism. It felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously, and I left the dealership feeling frustrated and disrespected.

Overall, my experience with SDM Hyundai Falkirk was very disappointing. I would not recommend their services to anyone who values professionalism, respect, and effective communication. There are certainly better options available where customers are treated with the consideration they deserve.

HYUNDAI FALKIRK GAVE ME MY CAR BACK BROKEN!

HYUNDAI FALKIRK !

I put my car in for a repair at Hyundai Falkirk, when I picked the vehicle up it was obvious there was a major problem with the clutch/gearbox (unrelated to work I had asked them to undertake) When I left the vehicle with them there was NO ISSUES and it was in perfect working order. I returned and reported the fault to Steven a sales assistant, who agreed there was a problem after trying to select gear I was told to come back on Monday when a technician could look at it,that’s when my nightmare began. I was given a health check when work was being done and no issue were raised by Craig Fowler the technician. So naturally I asked how my vehicle has been left basically broken, and not the way I left it,no one can answer,no one is interested in trying to help and Hyundai Falkirk are refusing to fix the damage that the technician has done. In fact they are refusing to touch my vehicle now at all, leaving me with no transport and I now have to find a trustworthy garage to undertake repairs. It is my belief that Hyundai has damaged my vehicle and are taking no responsibility whatsoever. Today I had the misfortune of Dealing with Lisa Aitken,a receptionist. One of the most ignorant, unfriendly unhelpful people I have ever met. Twice Lisa aitken cut me off on the phone, then when I picked my keys up Lisa Aitken ended up screaming at me to leave, extremely unprofessional on Lisa Aitkens behalf it was humiliating and embarrassing and quite clear Lisa Aitken is not qualified for dealing with the public. As she aggressively marched me to the front door, like some kind of prison officer, she screamed at me again GET OUT AND DONT COME BACK. This is not how I expect to be treated as a loyal paying customer and was flabbergasted by Lisa Aitkens scary behaviour and attitude. Overall I’m disgusted that my car has been damaged and no one cares. Hyundai Falkirk,Craig Fowler and Lisa Aitken SHAME ON YOU

Failed to return phone call

Failed to return my phone call. On the next day they called me, cut me off without speaking, called again, 10 minutes later and said the call was not returned yesterday as she finished work, ( I called well within business hours) I asked her what makes them better to keep my business and justify my extra 100 miles to go to them, she could not answer. Call politely ended and I will now go to another Mazda dealer for my servicing and my planned next new Hybrid car. Not professional, not customer focused and clueless on business ethics.

My "Go To Place" for all my car needs

I came across this review site more by chance than deliberately but, having done so, I thought I should describe my own experience over several years of buying cars from SDM, (Toyota) having them serviced there, and, (unfortunately!), having to use the accident repair service, Irrespective of the sector used, I was at all times met with highly friendly, knowledgeable, efficient staff, always ready to accommodate my needs as far as possible. When buying, I felt I got value for money, and, whether buying or having my car serviced, it was always spick and span on delivery.I
In relation to car sales in particular, I always appreciated the relaxed, informative but not all pushy approach of the sales staff.

Just not reliable enough

Servicing and maintenance is just really disorganised and a bit hit and miss on repairs. We had our Ioniq in 3 times over 8 months for air con issues. On third occasion they ordered part , took 4 months to arrive , got an SMS in December to say it had arrived booked car in for service in January and they said they sent the part back.

Don't trust they service and mechanic…

Don’t Trust Their Service

I strongly advise against trusting their service. The mechanic's diagnosis was wrong not once, but twice, and I ended up getting the issue fixed elsewhere. Customers need to be very careful to avoid ending up with an unnecessary and avoidable bill—mine was £3,700! The exact same problem was resolved for just £60 at my local garage in Aberdeen. Very disappointing experience, and I won’t be coming back.

I went to SDM Mazda due to their…

I went to SDM Mazda due to their reputation, mainly from Google reviews. No complaints with the sale process but like most companies these days if something goes wrong that's when you see what a company is worth.

When I went to collect the car I was told there was a dent through to the body with rust, I could get it booked In or not, not ideal, but then they have a good reputation right? They didn't notify me until finance had been sorted and frankly should have had the car in the workshop before the sale was completed.

Had to chase for a date the car could in. Took them 10 days to fix the issue after being told it would be the end of the week. Took several chases to find out why it was taking so long. No contact, didn't explain the delay and no apologies for the false promises.

Went to collect the car and the receptionist was great and sorted out another mis-communication with the CarPlay I had asked for. my real displeasure now comes from my interaction with the sales manager. He explained that I should expect cosmetic issues on a 4 year old car and it's not part of the "Approved Mazda" checks. No apology from the guy for the lack of communications and delays and I left with him using excuse after excuse.

So, according to SDM's sale's manager, don't expect a proper "Approved Mazda" car, they only do checks and make sure the engine is good. If you so happen to buy an older car, expect cosmetic issues, dents with rust and an arrogant unhelpful sales manager.

Bought an ex demo car and foolishly didn't check car before driving off forecourt. Washed car a few days later and found front and back alloys scratched, front worse and a chunk out the sidewall and cut on sidewall on same tyre. It was only myself driving the car so i know i hadn't damaged these wheels. Asked for feedback eventually after a week was told it's cosmetic. Please check your car even after paying top dollar iam having to shell another £300 to fix problems.

Scam! Fraudsters, Dodgy ripoff don't ever take your vehicle there

Took my i40 showing engine mgt light on under warantee there for repair and servicing 13/09/2021 and waited for some hrs. They said they can't attend to it that day i should wait weeks for diagnosis and checking warantee status and communication with hyundai. I waited 2 weeks n called up. They confirm they had not attended to it apologised for the delays. Called up d 3rd week same confirmations they had not even touched it.

I then took my Santa fe Wiggins to them for interim service since my other vehicle was already there and so I could meet n speak with them bout i40 status. I as a customer I specifled interim service which includes oil, iol filter, fuel filter, fluid checks etc as stipulated on their website. Shockingly when I drove my car for few days I notoced no difference, investigated further n discovered in the receipt of hyundia job and material cost breakdown and noticed that of The total £188 charged only £15 was use in material purchase (just the oil) a whopping £147 was for labour and remaining was VAT.
I called up to make enquiries and was I was aggressively spoken to by the manager, claiming that, my car only need a 5yrs service since its just 5yrs next month. He only changed the oil And did not change oil and fuel filters as agreed and paid for. This is a bridge of the MOU and SLA Agreements. Then the fuming manager asked me to come get my broken car and never to bring any of my cars to that establishment. He also tried to scam me by saying I should pay for servicing. Car that broke down and resulted a bad day for me. Being stranded in tre rain got help with police patrols arranged towing van to get me to a safer place. Then carried on with another towing vans. Terrible day they cost me. Just because I asked why the services that were agreed upon and corresponding charged were NOT being carried out. If customer specifications and be focused on, I then ask question WHY DID HYUNDAI not pre - informed me before carring out the wrong service for a higher price. The cost me more in towing cost and more.

Please Do Not Take Your Vehicle To Tgat Place. They will toast and rip you off trust me.

Little things matter…

Had a small issue with my car tyre last week - have owned car 8 years and SDM Toyota recognise customer loyalty and don’t turn their backs & help you out readily & promptly for life’s very small problems. It’s truly what sets them apart from the rest and makes us return again & again. We’ve owned Toyota cars 20 years plus and love brand but love SDM equally as they value your loyalty - thanks from a very grateful customer.
