$20K+ International Move Disaster - Lost Heirlooms, President Lied, Accused Us of Blackmail

We paid over $20,000 upfront to Sea & Air International (USDOT #2484337, FMC #020349) to ship irreplaceable family heirlooms from France to the US. Once they had our money, we had zero leverage.

MISSING BOX - NEVER FOUND
A box containing irreplaceable family heirlooms has never been found: a 100+ year old family dinner service, an antique wicker basket, and other irreplaceable items. Sea & Air noticed the box was missing when the container arrived in October 2025 and told NO ONE for over a month - not us, not their French subcontractor Grospiron who handled packing.

PRESIDENT YANIV LIED - THEN ADMITTED IT
Yaniv told us Sea & Air had contacted Grospiron immediately to investigate. This was a lie. Grospiron confirmed (Dec 11, 2025): “no missing package was reported to us.” Yaniv then admitted (Dec 17, 2025): “We did not report in time on the missing box, you are right.” Dana (Claims Specialist) and Chris (Executive VP) at W K Webster Insurance were copied as witnesses.

DAMAGED FURNITURE
Two antique cabinets were damaged during delivery. When I pointed this out, the crew responded: “Whatever you say, bro, contact the office.”

WRONG DELIVERY & IMPROPER PACKING
My brother’s desk drawer was delivered to me by mistake - I had to drive it to him myself. My brother also received an antique bowl shattered to pieces, packed standing on its edge.

INSULTING SETTLEMENT & “BLACKMAIL” ACCUSATION

After all these failures, Sea & Air offered $250, raised to $500 - barely 2.5% of our $20,000+ move. We requested $1,000 (5%). Yaniv accused us of “blackmail and extortion” for saying we’d leave honest reviews if not fairly compensated. Leaving factual reviews is normal consumer behavior, not blackmail.

WARNING
Sea & Air requires full payment upfront. Once they have your money, you have no leverage whatsoever.

TIMELINE
• Sept 2025: Move from France, PAID $20K+ UPFRONT
• Oct 2025: Container arrived, box missing, Sea & Air silent
• Nov 2025: Delivered after month of silence
• Dec 11, 2025: Grospiron confirmed never contacted
• Dec 17, 2025: Yaniv admitted “We did not report in time”
• Dec 2025-Jan 2026: Offers of $250, then $500
• Jan 2026: We requested $1,000; accused of “blackmail”
• Feb 2026: Matter declared “closed”

BOTTOM LINE
President Yaniv personally mismanaged every step on a $20K+ move. Lost irreplaceable heirlooms, lied, stayed silent for a month, offered $500, accused us of blackmail. We are filing complaints with FMC, FMCSA, BBB, IAM, and BAR.

Do not trust Sea & Air International with your irreplaceable belongings.

Unfortunately very disappointing

I was initially quoted $6,200 by Sea & Air International for a move from NYC to Copenhagen, based on a detailed assessment of my belongings via photos and video. The quote included packing, inventory, and full destination services (unloading, unwrapping, basic assembly, and debris removal), with an estimated timeline of 10 weeks.

The packing team at origin was excellent—efficient, careful, and professional. Unfortunately, the experience declined significantly after that.

A few days later, I received a revised invoice for $8,200, citing increased volume. This was surprising given the thorough pre-move assessment. When my shipment arrived, many boxes appeared to contain excessive packing paper—some seemingly 30–40%—which raises concerns about how the final volume was calculated. It’s also difficult to dispute additional charges when the company has possession of all your belongings.

After 7 weeks, I was informed that my shipment was about to arrived in Rotterdam and that delivery to Copenhagen would take an additional 4–6 weeks. This alone exceeds the original 10-week estimate unless the shipment departed immediately after pickup, which seems unlikely. In hindsight, the original timeline appears misleading.

When my belongings finally arrived, several items were damaged. My coffee table was broken, and other items were crushed or cracked, suggesting poor handling or excessive pressure during transit. Additionally, none of the promised destination services—unwrapping, assembly, or debris removal—were provided.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Aside from the initial packing team, the service fell far short of expectations. At no point did Sea & Air International offer an apology or take accountability.
