Horrible service

Extremely horrible service, I would never consider traveling with this ferry again. We paid extra for a table, and we got no table and our seats weren't even next to each other. Bad service and a scam. Would definitely not recomend.

Easy-to-use website for booking and check-in, nice way to travel between Greek islands

Booked tickets online for a round-trip from Santorini to Amorgos and back. Firtstly, as I consider the scope of this site to review the trustworthiness of websites, searching for and ordering tickets, subsequent information and finally online check-in and issue of electronic boarding passes was easy and flawless.

Second, as I see that several reviews complain about the ferry itself, I would say that my experience was as expected when travelling with fast ferries. We travelled with a passenger-only ferry with two decks, similar to those that I frequently travel with in Norway and have used in other countries as well. My experience with SeaJets was positive and at the same level as when travelling with passenger ferries in Norway and other countries. The ferry was moderately delayed, about 30 minutes outbound and 15 minutes at the return. The 30 minute delay was announced on a text message. Since a lot of people were boarding from Santorini and the ferry was a little behind schedule, the crew had to make sure that the boarding was efficient which means urging the passengers to leave baggage where supposed and proceed inside but not at any level I would call rude. Once onboard the crew was nice and helpful.

I have not experienced serious delays or cancellations and cannot rate how the company or website handles such situations. But my experience both from the website and the ferry itself was excellent.

Unreliable

To begin with, the tickets are extremely expensive. At least you expect to travel on time and comfort. On the contrary, the ships are usually 1-2 hours behind schedule, quite old vehicles, and you also need to change ship in Milos if you want to continue further. Probably the worst part is boarding, as the staff at the ship entrance treat passengers like they are a cattle of sheep, shouting to us to move faster, and enter through the parking section instead of taking the escalator! A couple of positive things is speed and the Superrunner staff on board.

Unreliable and Rude

We were scheduled to go from Mykonos to Milos and the ferry was delayed 1.5 hours (it usually is). It arrived in Mykonos without any noise or warning and then proceeded to leave. We took the ferry again from Milos to Athens where the gate agent yelled at us when we asked a simple question. Then the ferry does not let you pick seats and they assign you random seats. I saw a family with a 2 year old get told they couldn't sit together. Get it together Sea Jets, it's 2022 and you're still operating like its 1980.

Booking the tickets was fine

Booking the tickets was fine, and I ended up with three seats together for our group. But getting on in Santorini was ridiculous chaos! No one seem to know where to be or where to stand to wait for the ferry. Just a giant mob around the ship. When they started letting us on, 1000 or 1500 people all rushed to the front of the boat, gender way on try to find a place for a luggage on the rocks, and waited in a stairway are they checked our tickets to see if we were actually entitled to be on. By the time we got to the ticket checker, we had pulled away from the dock. So not sure what we would’ve done if we’ve been on the wrong boat?

Worst travel with a ship I ever had in my life!

Worst travel with a ship! So crowded no proper seating nobody was wearing a mask despite the fact it is obligatory by law! Bellow… not worth the expensive ticket we’ve paid for! Not recommended at all! We were supposed to travel 4h to the destination but it took much longer!!!

The one star is simply because of the…

The one star is simply because of the one worker on board who literally saved me. His patience and care towards myself and all other passengers should be rewarded with a Hefty raise. Not only did he get covered in puke from seasick passengers but he worked HARD and was so attentive. I wish I knew his name but it was his second day and he was a rockstar! All other crew was rude and clearly did not care. Aside from that, do yourself the favour and fly or take a bigger boat!! I cannot stress that enough. I threw up 15 times in a matter of 4 hours. The boat is not big enough and I’m pretty certain it’s completely dirty

They are scammers!!!

They are scammers!!!
Terrible experience travelling
with Seajets on 11/06 from Folegandros to Piraeus! Unprofessionals with shameful customer service! Time and duration of trip changed with a few hours notice. Paid 77.7 euros for a four and a half hours trip; the ferry arrived 2.30 hours LATE and the trip lasted 6 HOURS. After the last stop (Serifos), an announcement (ONLY in Greek in a ferry with mainly non-greek speakers) said that the company will offer a free ticket as compensation that can only be collected from their HQ. When asked if they will also announce it English, they replied ' we have orders to announce it only in Greek'.

Shameful customer service and demand full refund, not a free ticket!!!

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible. I wish the Greek authorities could do something about this company because from my own experience and from what I have read now on several websites, they are just scammers. We had a +1 hour delay on our first way from Santorini to Koufonissi, after the time of departure had been already been changed last minute. On our return way, the same thing happened: the time of departure was changed without even informing us and there was a delay on the new time. Result: we ended up missing our flight back home and having to stay (and pay for) one more night in Santorini to catch a new flight on the following day. When I asked for a compensation, I was told that there was nothing they could do. Avoid!

Speedy but slow

This is supposed to be one of the fastest ships, but it always delays for hours without even apologising. You pay double the money to travel faster and in the end you wish you had taken the plane.

Buyer beware!!

Buyer beware!!! I purchased Seajets tickets through FerryHopper on February 14, 2020 and my trip was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID shut downs. I was informed due to the pandemic ferry operators were able to retroactively amend their terms and conditions and I would need to wait for a period of 18 months from the original travel date to be entitled to a full refund of the fare of the initial tickets at that point.

My trip was scheduled to be completed on June 27, 2020 and I am still fighting this company for my refund. I have exchanged 20+ emails over the course of almost 2 years and continue to get conflicting information and I am not any closer to my refund today. My 18 month wait period was over December 27, 2021 and I again contacted FerryHopper and was told now it needed to be approved from SeaJets which doesn't align with their original statements or terms of service. I then went directly to the ferry operator Seajets and they state they've approved my refund multiple times and notified FerryHopper. Immediately following my communication with Seajets I received a email from Katerina with FerryHopper now confirming its approved and I should be refunded in 1-3 Months.

On April 26, 2022 I followed up again with FerryHopper and Seajets on my refund as the 1-3 month refund period of course came and went with no refund or communication. Seajets will no longer respond to my requests and the response I received from FerryHopper is blaming Seajets stating "due to the unprecedented load of requests that they have been receiving recently, we cannot provide you with a specific timeframe for the refund completion, as the refund process is controlled by the ferry operator." Mind you their terms of service states "after 18 months since the date of your trip, you are entitled to a full refund" and as of January 24, 2022 it was only a 1-3 month waiting period.

Ethically what Seajets and FerryHopper are doing to those impacted by the pandemic is wrong and they are holding funds that are rightfully owed to hundreds if not thousands of people who had to cancel their trips at no fault of their own. God forbid anything happen and there is a change in your trip because you will have to fight tooth and nail and waste countless hours trying to get your money back. Terrible business.

The most terrible experience

The most terrible experience.
Sailed with them last fall from Sifnos to Piraeus.
It was supposed to be the faster option, but was delayed several hours because of bad weather, so the jet was going half speed. You could feel every wave, we had to hold on to our seats to not be thrown around the cabin and it felt completely unsafe to sail with this kind of jet in the weather conditions at stake!
The safety information was on small TVs that lost connection all the time and so the safety information was not delivered.
No corona safety protocol was present.
Everyone on board got seasick. Everyone were afraid and people were screaming, some collapsed, laying on the floor in their own vomit.
I heard someone call it the ferry from hell, because this is not the first, nor the last time it will be like this. The staff went around with puke bags to everyone when we had sat down, cos they knew we would need them.
Absolutely horrific! Do not book with them!!

Finally pleased to have been refunded but regret it took so long (nearly 2 years)!

UPDATED REVIEW:
Just to let you know that Seajets have finally refunded in February 2022 the booking we made in January 2020.
Such a shame it took Seajets so long (nearly 2 years) and required the use of social media and the Greek law article to get the refund. The other ferry companies refunded in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
For these reasons, we are updating our review from 1 star to 3 stars.
INITIAL REVIEW:
Before Covid in January 2020, I made a booking with Ferryhopper that included Seajets and 2 other ferry companies.
Due to Covid, our trip to Greece has been cancelled. A full refund should have been made in May 2020 according to Ferryhopper T&Cs.
Unfortunately, Seajets refused to refund and used a Greek government rule to postpone the refund by 18 months. Now, 19 months later, they are delaying the refund once again until April 2022 (even if the Greek government law says they should refund now)!
The two other ferry companies have already refunded us. Seajets is the only one not doing so! Avoid!!
I requested the refund that is due to us before the due date of Dec 17, 2021.
Seajets is now responding to Ferryhopper that we need to wait until April 2022!! Refund moved from May 2020 to December 2021 to April 2022. When will be the next move?
You cannot trust a company that never keep its promises. Neither a country like Greece which allowed providers not to refund during 18 months and do not check that they do so after 18 months.
I do not recommend anybody to travel to Greece. I still have ferry and hotel refunds pending 20 months after the cancellations due to covid.
Greek rules are clear: we should have had a refund after 18 months: main amendments in the Greek law (v.4722/15.09.2020).
All the other ferry companies have already refunded us. But Seajets (Ferry) have still not done it and keep postponing. Avoid these places as they are not reliable.

Seajets very late, messy, and not taking responsibility

Took this company's Ferry on a round trip from Athens to Mykonos. No problem on the way there. But on the way back, the ship was about half an hour late to arrive at port. No staff member is at the port to assure you everything's Ok or to tell you what's the situation. You're just standing there looking at the sea wondering. Weather was perfect, so there was no excuse.
When the ferry came, the staff completely rushed all of us very heavily because they knew they were late, and (literally) as soon as we stepped on the boat, they set sail, maneuvering super fastly before we had time to reach the safety of our seats, so we were thrown stumbling everywhere. My girlfriend fell on the ground. And she was consequently highly seasick for the duration of the journey.
The ship arrived in Athens 40 minutes later than scheduled and we lost the two possible trains we could've taken to the airport for our flight. So we had to pay for a taxi and we were rushing and stressed all evening.
When I wrote to the company to ask for at least some amount of compensation or explanation, they said they were not obliged by law to refund any amount if the delay is less than an hour, and that the docks log stated the ship arrived 18:04 (instead of the 18:10 i claimed, which was the time when we headed off to step into the port. I checked), so that the delay (34 minutes) then was "small and to be expected".
Another detail is that they state on their emails that you MUST print their boarding forms regarding Covid and such (no digital allowed) which is a hassle of course but then they didn't ask for them at all, on either trip.
Avoid Seajets.

Both in the going-trip and leaving-trip…

Both in the going-trip and leaving-trip there had been a very long delay without information or a cause since the weather was absolute perfect. The arrival to the island was 1 hour late and the arrival to Piraeus was 2 HOURS DELAYED! We also had to catch a bus and run with our luggage! 0 stars!
