FURIOUS!

FURIOUS!! IM BUYING A MOTABILITY CAR AND THE SALESMAN LITERALLY WAS HAPPY TO ORDER, NOT TGE SPECIAL I WANTED AND THEN AFTER SAYING AND HIM KNOWING IM LOOKING AT ONE OTHER BRAND, PUT MY DETAILS IN THE MOTABILITY SITE WHICH HAS NOW PREVENTED ME FROM ORDERING THE CAR I WANT.
HE WAS ALSO EXTREMELY UNINTERESTED IN ME AS A CUSTOMER ALSO THE SPEC I WANTED SO
IF THIS IS NOT REMOVED TODAY FROM MOTABILITY, I WILL BE SPEAKING TO THE CEO OF GROUP 1 AS WELL AS MOTABILITY. Shame as it’s a nice looking car but service is AWFUL. Richard was the salesman. By your trustpilot reviews that says it all.

company of liars

This company has no customer care, they tell lies when selling you a car and then when you complain they deny they ever said it. They refuse to give out the email address of the CEO so that you can take your complaint to the top and instead tell you to take it to the motoring ombudsman. If i could give no stars at all i would. They have even told me they will not respond to anymore emails from me.

Got a Seat Ateca in May 24 via…

Got a Seat Ateca in May 24 via motability. The infotainment system started to develop faults in October. I had to wait about a month for it to be looked at and was told they couldn’t find a fault. Since then the system regularly disconnects or refuses to connect. It also now goes blank so I’m having to use my old phone holder stuck onto the screen if I need a reliable sat nav. Keyless open/close is temperamental and I’ve had random warning lights flashing up for no reason.
I’m now having to wait 3 weeks for it to be looked at. I had less trouble with my battered 16 year old Kia than I’ve had with this brand new thing 😡

Poor customer care

At 5 months old my SEAT Arona developed a fault. I was given a variety of conflicting and confusing advice from the local dealer and roadside assistance. I contacted Customer Services to help resolve the issue and they just made the matter worse. They didn't bother to read my emails. I appreciate cars can develop faults, but the main fault is a Customer Service department that doesn't care.

Avoid

Avoid! Bought a Seat Arona April 2024, came with a 2 year extended warranty (all components). Boot mechanism has failed and they will not be able to confirm if it’s covered until I pay £130/hr for a diagnostic. If not covered, then I will also pay for the parts and labour. Halfords will charge £120 to replace. The warranty is just a Seat money making scheme. They also refused to log a complaint.

Seat Hatfield

Seat Hatfield, provide the worst Sales and would never buy a car from them or recommend to anyone. Raise a complaint after numerous issues with my used car, after 4 weeks they say thank you we will carry out additional training. No offer of compensation for any stressed caused and the umpteen visits and inconvenience

Save your money and buy from another manufacturer or dealership.

Broken Gearbox

Broken Gearbox. 4 year old car. Only 50k miles. Reported 6 months ago. Still Ongoing. Quoted nearly £7k to fix. Clearly a faulty part fitted in the car or are all Seat cars badly made. If someone bought a brand new Seat, did 50k in it in 3 years and the gearbox broke the customer would be appalled but it would be covered by warranty. After 3 years its tough, your problem! Miscommunication, Misinformation, Terrible Customer Service from the Customer Care Team.

Got a gearbox broken

Got a gearbox broken, Seat dealer for replacing the DSG quote 11600pounds! If Seat wants to fit their cars with expensive gearbox, the minimum would be to have a good quality product. Gearbox failure at 44500 miles is not what we expected, and no goodwill as the car is said to be 10 yo and not under warranty, when the car is 8yo is frankly upsetting. asking me to pay an additional 300 pounds of diagnosis to end with zero goodwill on the basis of information the age of the car, after 2 months with Customer service manager not phoning back. The whole thing has been seriously distressing. I was treated poorly

Wish I had read these reviews before buying SEAT Ateca…

Wish I had read these reviews before purchasing.

Both front shock absorbers leaking after just over 3 years. Very poor customer service and wanted me to pay £156 for a diagnostic of leaking shock absorbers before they would offer any support. Very polite staff in their emails however, the vehicle is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and neither was the support. D.M Kieth York SEAT - very poor customer service. They also wanted £££ before they agree to fix your brand new car. The cars look very nice but I will never buy SEAT again. 05365948

Inferior components - not built to last!

My SEAT Mii Electric is 4.5 yrs old and has 13,000 miles on the clock. Recently, a fault has been flagged preventing the car from being charged. The handbook says that the selector is not in the parked position. But it is in the parked position otherwise I would not be able to remove the keys from the ignition lock. The only way I have been able to charge the car is by leaving the key in it and switched on - not a very safe option!
Having contacted the dealership, I was told this is a common fault across the VW Group inasmuch as the selector switch fails and needs to be replaced. This little switch cost me £175, plus labour of £150, plus VAT to bring the total to £390. At home, I can fully charge the car for £5 and, on average, that gives it a range of 100 miles. So replacing the switch is equivalent to 7800 miles of travel - driving a VW Group electric car is therefore, perhaps, not the best economic decision to make!!
Or, maybe, the VW Group uses inferior quality components that are not expected to last more than 4.5 yrs / 13000 miles?

MOT with them took 9.5 hours

My car went in for an MOT, they had it for 6 hours before they contacted me about work it needed and then had it for a further 3.5 hours to complete the work. 9.5 hours for an MOT that resulted in the wiper blades and break pads needing to be replaced is not acceptable. I had to chase them three times to get them to contact me to approve the works. If I hadn’t, they would have had my car longer.
The work they did I’m sure is fine, only time will tell but terrible service. When I called to chase up I was treated in a very patronising way.

I have rung 6 Seat dealers around…

I have rung 6 Seat dealers around London over 2 weeks to get an infotainment fault fixed. Not once did I get to speak to someone in Service; either no one picked the phone at all or if they did, the person wasn’t from Service and said they’d get someone to call me back. Not one did. Seat UK are useless, only offering to contact the dealers - but how can they be trusted when they are so disinterested in customer care.

I agree with negative reviews and I would stay clear of SEAT. I have a six month old car which has developed a clutch issue. They say not under warranty and neither the dealership not head office want to know. As I have said my advice stay clear of SEAT!

Seat Ateca Excellence 2017

I have a Seat Ateca Excellence 2017, everything is good with the car apart from the Panoramic Roof, everytime it rains, i get alot of water in the boot. My warranty has run out, every so often the tubes get blocked up, and then i have to pay money everytime to get it unblocked, they dont tell you these things when purchasing the vehicle. As its a Manufacturing fault, Seat should be clearing the blockage free of charge. My advice do not buy this vehicle if you dont want the hassle.

Misleading info on website

Very poor customer service. Recently bought a SEAT car and despite website saying “My Seat app is completely free to use” this appears to be a lie. Contacted digital support - back & forth being told different things by different people. Contacted complaints email - just referred to digital team & refused to look into this matter. Seems to be a case of blatant misrepresentation but no-one at SEAT seems interested.
