Shawn Croats was extremely helpful with any questions or concerns my husband and I had from beginning to end. He is very knowledgeable and works to get the best rates the first time without jerking us around. If Mr. Croats didn’t know something he was honest and would find the answer. We appreciate all he has done and the fact he isn’t trying to pressure people nor is he giving us inaccurate information. We would recommend Mr.Croats specifically to work with when choosing your company but that your whole company did their best to handle our refinance efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner.

He and his team did a phenomenal job, the entire process taking less than three weeks from beginning to end. Mike spent hours explaining things to us in detail. I cannot speak highly enough about him.

The process with Sebonic was pretty easy and painless. The staff assigned to the loan application were very responsive and answered questions and addressed a couple of what seemed to be software glitches. The rate and terms were very competitive.

Since the interest rate I was offered was SO GOOD, I had thought Sebonic was kind of a low-budget operation and would skimp on customer service. Instead, I found that I could get someone on the phone whenever I needed, and they knew what they were talking about! I was very pleasantly surprised.
The one thing that was less than optimal: After my loan signing, some days went by and I was wondering when and how I would be asked to pay the closing costs. Then, on a Friday, I got two emails from a Title company asking if I needed instructions to wire them this money. I was working that day, so was not monitoring my personal email. I contacted them Monday, and they told me they had to have the money wired to them that very day! I had to call in sick and go to the bank instead of to work. Of course, this Title company was not Sebonic, so I don't really blame Sebonic for this less-than-ideal experience. But if Sebonic had explained to me ahead of time how the payment would happen, that would have been good. But overall, really, Sebonic was great!

Closed with Sebonic on time(one month). Arlene was great. She was very responsive and had always replied and addressed my concern on time. I would recommend Arlene and Sebonic to my friends.

I just completed a cash-out refinance with Sebonic. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Sebonic has excellent communication throughout the process. Loan closed in 21 days and disbursed 4 days later (which is only possible if you are quick to submit all documentations they request for at the beginning and during the process).

Everything was done online. Notary comes to your house for closing. Really seamless experience. Too good. Highly recommend Shawn Croats.

After reading several reviews I was a little nervous about using Sebonic to refi our home. The reviews are either great or terrible. Our experience with Sebonic was great. Not only did we receive a good rate but It only took 3 weeks to refi our home. Michael Fienberg did a great job of keeping the process moving forward and was really quick to respond to my questions. A+

Before I start, I want to make clear that I had a good overall experience with this lender. While there were evident process failures that ultimately caused delays in closing, there was also unfailing individual professionalism and attentiveness form everyone I worked with, particularly from Shawn Croat, the loan officer assigned to my loan.

Shawn was a true professional from the beginning to the very end of this refinance process. He was immediately responsive to my concerns and took action quickly when I needed additional assistance and follow-up. This level of customer service was there throughout the entire refinance process--not once did I have to wait long for his assistance when I needed it.

The refinance itself missed the original 60 day target to close, with one issue taking weeks to resolve. I spoke to multiple people throughout this process, and even though the confusion behind the scenes was evident, it was also evident that every single person I spoke with was working hard to figure out the issues and steer me right, keep me informed, and every single one was professional and attentive. This speaks well of the lender--a customer is much more willing to tolerate thorny issues if he also sees that there is a real commitment to do the right thing for the customer.

The refinance ultimately closed successfully, and Shawn made good on his personal assurance that I would not have to pay any additional costs due to the closing delays. By this point in the process, I had seen enough that I had no doubt that Shawn and Sebonic would keep their word and do the right thing.

Despite the issues and delays, a good business transaction depends on trust most of all. Shawn and Sebonic earned my trust during this process. If and when I refinance or look for a new mortgage in the future, they will be the first ones I call.
