I have held a savings account with Secure Trust Bank for many years, using it simply to deposit funds. Following a divorce, I provided a signed consent order and a letter of authority from my ex-wife to transfer the account into my sole name. Despite this, the bank refused to act until they had also spoken to her directly.
This requirement is both unnecessary and outdated. I completed the same process with five other banks without any difficulty — all were seamless. Secure Trust Bank’s approach has created needless stress, wasted time, and highlighted how archaic their systems and processes are.
Unless you absolutely have to, I would strongly recommend avoiding this bank. It may appear fine on paper, but the moment you need support with anything beyond the most basic transactions, they become obstructive and unhelpful.

Very happy with Secure Trust bank. Changed due to interest rate drop. Will be happy to return when rates increase.

I enjoyed banking with them but they insiste in powering you a letter every time you put money in or out
They wouldn’t let me ask for just an email.
With the app availability I was sometimes mcijbg pennies in or out of my account and they would be spending £2 just telling me what I’d done with the letter and cost of postage
Moronic really!
I had to save them from themselves in the end it was wasting their money, damaging the planet and creating increased fire loading in my home

i have previously held a secure trust bank account and once again decided to open one again for a fixed term.
My husband and I try to keep our life style simple and uncomplicated and as a result year on year are finding it harder to find Banks and Building Societies that provide accounts with good interest rates which are not on line and can be opened face to face.
So when we are looking at accounts which have to be opened on line they should be uncomplicated very secure safe and provide really good service over the telephone if needed. We do not want to worry about our savings constantly. We want to feel valued and not just a numbered account. Call us old fashioned but some of those values seem to have gone in many walks of life.

The phone was answered very promptly. I received professional, friendly and supportive help and advice and was reassured I was investing my funds in a safe and appropriate manner.

Website is easy to use.
The interest rate stayed competitive for longer than most other instant access savings accounts.
Prompt response to queries, online & on the phone.

Great app. Good helpful customer service. However they post you a letter after every transaction. In my mind, waste of paper, not environmentally friendly and a bit of a security risk. In mondern times every other savings account doesn't do this as it's unnecessary in thus day and age. I did if they could stop sending these transaction letters and was told no. That married with a no longer competitive interest rate meant I left them.

Went to transfer out on maturity my 1 Year Isa to 2 other providers and they would NOT allow it!
Their marketing material is misleading as it says current tax year allowances can't be transferred. Buried in their T & C's in section 12 says that it must be transferred in FULL! SNEAKY OR WHAT!
Looking at your reply: I'm glad I gave you good advice for your Management team - and you got it for free!!! You are still a dreadful company!!

I gave this five star review, because I got five star service. This was the easiest ISA transfer I have ever undertaken. Secure trust were quick and efficient. Just what we all need more of!
