Self scams people once you attempt to close your accounts

Self presents a program to help people increase their credit-scores if we set up a security account using our personal funds. I did so. The funds increase good reporting to credit bureas as well as bad. I kept it going for this purpose. At near end of the 2 year agreement, I called SELF to close the account, stop any further acceptance of charges (some automatics) - I was told I had 187.00 balance AFTER paying off 100% of the “ credit “account. Also that a check would be coming to me for that 187.00 within 3 to 4 weeks! (Amazing they take your funds immediately but take 4 weeks to pay you back). Since the time we spoke, I did receive that 187.00, I was assured that the account balance in the builder account would be applied. —to the “credit” account for a zero paid in full status. 2 months later, I keep getting notices that I am LATE for PMTS on the “ credit” account and that I still owe the full amount that should have been paid off the day I closed the accounts. I called, and called - takes an hour on hold to reach somseone. Today I finally got through. Told them of the incident, that I wanted immediately and to have written confirmation of the close - self tells me now that the credit card account was NOT closed - (not my fault) AND insult to injury, owe them “trailing” interest on the credit card balance accrued AFTER I CLOSED THE ACCOUNT in January - so they have no accountability for the fact the account was closed over the phone, and now want to be paid 87.00 by me for interest against the past two months! - they force the card to remain open, while charging interest AFTER the funds in the builder account should have been applied to close the credit ACCOUNT…. ALL foreign support. NO ONE in their so called tex BASED company, can be reached. Damage to your credit if you do NOT pay them, AND they keep the account open till you pay them - basicLLYT THEY extort money with their BS rules - trust no one you speak to, their fault, your problem. RUN

In the beginning I had a really good…

In the beginning I had a really good relationship with self. However, I was not planning on staying with them foreve, and this is where the issues started. It was an issue when I finished the initial length of the plan. The credit card I acquired with them every time they increased the limit they wanted to increase length of the plan. Then I had all my bills being reported to the credit bureau’s for an additional fee but the weren’t being reported. So I stopped that service and only had the free service which only reports your rent. Now they are using the excuse my bank isn’t linked. I plan on keeping the card with a zero balance and not using it anymore. THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS. AS LONG AS YOUR PAYING THEM YOUR GOOD. TRY TO LEAVE THEM AND THEY BECOME EXTREMELY RUDE AND LIARS.

Refuses to help with Fraudulent Charges

I've been with Self for a long time. They helped me get my credit started. Nowadays, they went drastically down hill. I have been trying to dispute a fraudulent charge on my account for weeks now, and they just tell me "No, it's not". They say they investigated but they clearly didn't. I contacted the seller myself and they pointed me towards contacting my credit card provider. And this is a charge of $63, roughly.

To kick it off even more, they have AI Customer Service people. Not all of them, but you run the risk of being aided by AI.

I'm not playing this game. Get your act together.
