My friend is getting called a liar by fort road sentinel storage Edmonton and refusing to let him talk and explain things and it is causing stress to myself and the animals in the house. They refuse to email him his information.

Awful service rented the unit for 4 free weeks as advertised!!!!!!!!!! Got a notice Dec 22 i was over due on my payment so they decided to access my account and took a payment 70 dollars over the agreed amount the last time i was in math class four weeks is 28 days and thise were said to be free. BUYER BEWARE the place is on a second floor of a delapitated building that looks like a horror film their 5x5 is actually 4x4 a stinky wooden hole no lighting the elevator held myself and another lady inside for 12 minutes we couldnt have gotten out if jt werent for her daughter looking for her mother then pressed a button at the top floor. There is no ramp the dollies are broken down and old the halfway stank like a rotting corpse and there was a blinking bit of light its not secure anyone can walk in and murder you if they wanted to. the outside by the crap hole has zero light outside so bring a flashlight and hope to gawd you dont get stuck in the elevator. They do not honour their agreement and they will wipe your account out at will. God for bid you are a day behind on bills, they will rob you blind

Red Deer downtown location accepted my credit card information for a deposit to the unit and when I got there they wouldn't accept my interim drivers license even though I had all other forms of identification and then got very rude when I asked for a refund, they informed me I would have to wait for at least 2 WEEKS for it to be returned to my credit card, I have never seen such unprofessional people in my life, there was another dissatisfied lady who was trying to get her refund as well, never again,there are plenty of other storage places with better and friendlier staff!!

In the beginning of my experience at this location I would have given a 5 star review. The facility was clean and the staff were helpful and pleasant. I had no issues until the day I emptied my unit. I was planning to have my unit empty before the next billing cycle. Due to a couple of delays on my end, I was unable to finish on time therefore I paid for the next cycle as with the thought in mind that they would pro rate my payment based on the days left in my billing cycle. I was told this the very first day when I was signing up. Literally the next day I had the opportunity to finish clearing out the rest of my stuff not realizing that I shouldn't have bothered. I informed the front desk that my unit was empty. I was told to leave the door open and when they saw that it was empty they would close out my account I waited almost 2 weeks before I called them wondering if my account was closed and some of my payment would be refunded This is when I was informed that I would not get a dime back. NOT what I was told to begin with. I asked to speak with the manager and was told it's doubtful I will see any money and it will be at least a week before the manager would reach out This was the second week in August. It is now almost the end of October and not a call, message nor email as if yet. It cost me 180 bucks renting an empty space. I was mislead right off the start. I would have never paid the bill to begin with if I I knew I was gonna be ripped off and ignored. I would have settled with perhaps a phone call like I was supposed to receive and with even half of the funds refunded. This is ridiculous and I assure you I will never use Sentinel again nor recommend it to anyone.

Hello. I had my seating with Richard Dendwick. He was an amazing customer service. From the beginning Richard was fantastic and still is. He was great in explaining the whole process to us and made the whole experience seamless. We would highly recommend this location IF ...! and THIS IS THE REASON I LOWER MY STARS AND I NEED TO make a complain and urge the company and manager to take action in improving it. When I enter I their office, a strong smoke was hit me as if I was in a bar. This office MUST BE SMOKE AND FRAGVENCE FREE. If people CHOOSE TO KILL themselves by someking, I AND MY FAMILY SHOULD NOT BE KILLED BY SECOND HAND SMOKE. The office , like an apartment is DESTROYED BY HEAVY SMOKE, and I BELIVE MUST be repaint and MAKE A POLICY FOR EMPLOYEES , TO NOT SMOKE AND KEEP PUBLIC AREA SMOKE FREE. I know that IS LEGALIZED, BUT IS A PUBLIC PLACE WHERE NONE SMOKER AND SMOKER COMES. I am actual taking medicine and I could not go to work because my lungs GOT ATTACKED. It is not fair. So as improvement, encouragement and urging for this change to take place immediately . Thank you.

I don’t know if i did something to them or what but everyone I’ve have dealt with at the store have always been so rude and so stuck up! Everyone of them made me feel like I was garbage walking into this establishment but was the only place I could afford ! So had no choice and I was late this month because of their 4 week thing and they guy told me to get another storage unit because they don’t move payment days or can’t ! Understandable but every employee seemed to be bothered or annoyed every time I have to deal with them ! It’s so unwelcoming at this place I’m trying to find another affordable storage place because these employees are so grossly rude and unprofessional

Edmonton Central location. Decided to terminate services with me because I had a previous account go to auction while i was in jail and could do nothing. They auctioned off contents and i was told there is no balance owing. Better not be with a locker with 70grand of stuff in it to a debt of 2000ish. For this one i reserved online, was contacted by representative and i explained that my photo ID is expired but i have an appointment to get new id the next day. lady on phone said that shouldnt be a problem and then inquired about my past account to which she said im all good to go. New lady from storage site called me to verify and again i explained my ID situation and she figured it was not right and told me i cant do business with them with invalid id, and that my money i just paid can be refunded to credit card that day or it will be harder to get back if i wait. I didnt have my card on me when i got the call and couldnt tell her the number. I asked to speak to management about my id situation because sometimes exceptions can be made and i even told the lady this to which she decided to let management decide my fate.I was informed that management was out for the day and if there was a problem with my ID they would give me a call. couple days later, with loaded uhaul used online portal to get my gate code, and accessed the unit several times after that to get or put things there. About 2 weeks go by and another woman from location calls me and being very ignorant and demeaning explained that i am no good as a renter and my contract will be terminated effective immediately because i didnt come in to verify my id and at any rate sneaking in and going on website to get my code is being deceitful, etc,etc., i wont repeat some of what she said to me as its not very nice. I explained to her what and how my id situation is and what was said and she told me it doesnt matter because my past account was in red and she worked at that location and remembered how much of a deadbeat i was with paying. though i cant for the life of me recall how she could remember me when the only time i seen anyone that works there was when i rented the unit and then i was in jail for almost 3 years.. None the less, i was given 14 days to get my belongings all at once between business hours or they will assume abandoned and basically steal oh sorry, dispose of my stuff. Issues are i am on disability due to a stroke i had a few years back and while i can do some stuff, memory is foggy on short term sometimes and with that is my monthly disability benefit is only $846/month. having to wait to find another location, rent another uhaul, find a driver because i dont have a licence, thats half of what can barely live on each month. all because some lady has some bee in her hair and "doesnt like my kind"
if there was such a problem with me they should have told me when the call center contacted me, but the store lady told me they dont have access to that kind of information .. WHY THE HELL NOT. Im glad it was a first month free rent on the unit and it only costed me 26.00 else there would have been months rent and a deposit that would have been kept from me too. I was also told i would receive a letter from sentinel about the termination and she was mailing it to the address on file.. HELLO that was the address i MOVED from to fill the storage unit to which i have been floating in a semi homeless patter since. I tried giving my PO box where all my mail actually goes but the lady said that my problem..and today instead of being emailed such a letter i got emailed my bill for next months storage, when i called the site to say it was a mistake, i was told i had to pay it or they would send it to collections even though i have to empty my unit by july7(the end of my first month). I dont recall her name but total lack of respect, not one lick of professionalism and if were up to me would be fired for the way she conducted that call with me. if shes done it to me, be sure shed done it to countless others but unlike most others, i say something when wrongs like hers have been done. If your of the low income variety, dont go to central Sentinel storage. they discriminate and the building is not secure, what with people sleeping in their units, cameras only on exists and nothing watching laneways where the doors are, shoddy construction of drywall and tape to which a spoon can probably be used to breach any locker. Rent somewhere else if you value what little possessions you might have left to keep safe. And to Sentinel Representatives, if you do not like this review thats to bad, if you chose to pull it so nobody can read what really goes on i will go to social media and maybe even the media itself. Moved down to the area and felt secure putting my trailer on their storage lot. Only to have my Spare Tire Stollen, and Lock cut from people trying to steal my ramps! When confronted, the only response I got is to contact my insurance company when everything happened on their lot! Never want to deal with this place again! They don't care about what you have stored their. They only care about the money they get! Horrible customer service!!

I contacted the toll free number to arrange for the rental of a storage unit in Kamloops, BC. After speaking with the agent, I was assured that there was a storage unit available that day (Saturday, June 18) and that I just simply had to attend the office to show my ID and receive my gate code. When I arrived at the office, there was a note on the door that indicated that due to staff shortage, the office was closed that day and I was then directed to their "sister site" a short drive away. When I arrived at the sister site, that office as also closed so I called the toll-free number again and asked how I could go about getting a gate code as all offices were closed. The agent that I spoke to was unable to reach the store manager, the regional manager nor some other kind of manager. I asked him to keep trying and then to contact me on steps to take to obtain my gate code. I heard nothing further from that agent. After six calls to the toll free number, I have now, hopefully, cancelled my reservation and have now been assured that my refund will be processed "hopefully" within 4 to 6 weeks!!!! I will NEVER be recommending Sentinel Storage to anyone.
