The lamp was a gift, so I can't rate its 'value for money'. It is very stylish and modern-looking, so a *big* visual improvement over my previous bedside lamp. It also has four brightness settings, ideal for reduced light for tired eyes at the end of a long day. HOWEVER. I had a 'daylight' bulb in my old bedside lamp, so the change in the quality of light from the ROAM lamp on its brightest setting is fairly minimal, and it's of course much dimmer on the lowest setting. I was also a bit surprised how quickly it ran down the (rechargeable) battery, so now I keep it plugged in all the time.

I bought this as I am learning to do gold work embroidery. My work space is very small, so the footprint of the lamp and the cordless option was very inviting, as it would mean that I would not need to be tethered to a PowerPoint. am slightly disappointed with the battery efficiency, despite having let the lamp totally discharge and then recharge fully more than once. I see a fairly serious deterioration in the light quality after about 1.5 - 2 hours. However, I am delighted to discover that the length of the charging cable is more than adequate for me to be able to use the lamp anywhere in my limited work space, and the cable is actually longer than my two other corded lamps.The lamp is lovely and stable so I have no concerns about it toppling over. Overall I am very happy with it.

The light looks very elegant is easy to move and recharge but a big disappointment for me is that a charge does not last 4.5 hours on max power as advertised. And I always ensure the green light has come on before I remove it from charging. Sadly not what I expected. We have two of the floor lamps which are great but with cataracts affecting my sight I also need something I can move from room to room. Very disappointed.

This is the second one we have bought. One for my place, one for my partners because I kept on taking it back and forth so just bought a second. In the mean time the model has been improved with push button control and better arm movement, even an extra light level although I thought two were quite enough! It's surprising how much it adds to the quality of life.

I have 2 wired versions of this light, but we have recently moved into a house where my chair is nowhere near a socket. I put up with an extension cable for a week and the ordered the roam. A good reckon and it is smaller then the wired versions so is easy to stick on my world-wide table.

I like that it’s portal and holds a charge for several hours. I am using it mostly when I am crocheting and it is making the process much more enjoyable. The brightest setting is too bright at present but I think it will be particularly useful over the winter months.
