They operate like they develop video games, not business software

We have used Service.Works for a little over a year. In that time, they have made several updates. In May of 2025, they made an update that made it where we could no longer schedule sales deliveries in the software. in June 2025 they made a change that affected customer AR. We had to write off some balances that had previously been properly paid. In August 2025 they made ordering and managing parts more cumbersome. They made it so inventory can't have a negative quantity, even though that is a legitimate quantity. So that causes inventory issues. In February 2026 the made an update that reversed write offs and cleared payments, resulting in the AR being utter chaos. in April 2026 they made a change where updating sales invoices zeros out the invoice total. So an unpaid invoice has a zero balance and a paid invoice has a credit in the amount of their purchase.

There is so much chaos interjected with each "update." They have no sense of urgency to resolve the problems that they create. They don't adequately test releases.

The depth of thought put into the changes is on par with a simple entertainment app. It is not adequate for software used to run a business. There is very little concern for data integrity and accuracy.

Even after in depth conversations with high level officials at the company, they still force untested, buggy updates on us and dismiss our concerns for the fall out.

They make global changes to very localized problems.

The mobile app is unusable

The desktop version is ok, the mobile app is so buggy that it is entirely useless. They have no resolution for issues that were brought up multiple times. I paid for one year up front, and didn't even get through the onboarding process before I realized the software is so flawed that it can't be used the way they advertise, and they refused to refund the $2,100 for the year subscription even though I used the app for less than two full days.

Waste of Money

The sales people for Service works are amazing. The developers and training team, not so much. There are so many features and none of them are well rounded. They sell it as an all in one system and it is not. If you go with Service Works be prepared to spend a lot of time learning the platform and it is in no way intuitive. The training option was a huge waste of money and there is not much for self learning resources. Trying to get support was painful, waiting up to a week or more for help made this program impossible for us to use. We are out $2000 for something we can’t use and feel that we were given the old bait and switch.

As always

As always, when I have a problem or question, I get someone to chat with within a couple of minutes max. They, in turn, resolve/answer my issues.

Kyle is always very helpful

Kyle is always very helpful, he always checks into my questions and when he has to put in for more assistance, he doesn't hesitate to put in a ticket for my problem. I'm never left without knowing what the next step is!
