Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 47 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the pricing, often finding that the vouchers or discounted tickets ended up being more expensive than purchasing directly from the cinema, especially after additional fees and charges were applied. Customers also reported issues with the service, including problems with receiving codes, unhelpful support, and a general feeling that the service was pointless or even misleading. The website was also a source of frustration, with users encountering error messages and unclear information regarding fees. Conversely, a small portion of people were satisfied with the booking process and discounts, noting that they were able to save money on cinema tickets and that the voucher codes arrived instantly and worked without issues for some specific cinema chains.

DONT BOTHER!

DONT BOTHER!! You now get charged an extra £3 per seat from odeon plus booking fee. Actually cheaper to buy from odeon direct. Used to be a great service! Paid £41.50 instead of £35 via odeon. Lesson learnt total waste of time!!!

Feel conned

Feel conned. "Saved money" booking through them, then had a £3/ticket surcharge added when booking, making them as expensive as booking through the cinema. Utter waste of time.

Avoid - horrid when it goes wrong

Bought tickets to use at my local cinema. Arrived at the cinema to book them and advised they'd been used 300 miles away to book a film in 4 days. They'd also managed to use the popcorn and drinks vouchers. Service Seats offered to solution and basically said it was tough. Raised a dispute via my bank.

If there was 0 stars I would give them…

If there was 0 stars I would give them that!

Paid for two tickets (voucher codes)
One works, one doesn't...now I need to chase this with them!
Also I need to pay 1 pound booking fee on top of the discount. The hassle it takes chasing up I'd rather just pay full price

Good experience

Use through my Blue Light. Never had a problem with them. I always check to make sure the tickets are cheaper than on the actual company website (oden, cineworld, etc) as they do recommend doing this.

1st issue happened today as I did not receive my tickets. I filled out their contact form at 10.39 and by 10.46 they had replied with my voucher codes.

If I could leave less than 1 star I…

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. An absolute con. Voucher cost £8.75. Wanted to use to see Six Live and can’t. Tickets for other films only £5. Tried to use the voucher expecting to pay nothing. Still required to pay £1 booking fee.
Am trying to obtain a refund.
DO NOT USE

Never received tickets

Bought and paid for two cinema tickets but never received them. Initially had a response to my email, but now there is a total lack of communication from “customer services”. I will not be using again.

Bought Service Seats from BLC

Bought service seats from BLC 2 adult vouchers £9.84.

Tried using on Cineworld website I found it very confusing as there is no guidance on how to redeem voucher.
The vouchers were to be used off peak periods Monday-Thursday.

Decided just to go to Cineworld and try and buy tickets, the girl at the food section ( where you buy your tickets) was so helpful she just scanned the QR codes from my phone and price was £0.00.I was expecting to pay something!
The original price for 2 adult tickets would have been £11.99 each plus booking fee.
So saved roughly about £15/16 which is great.
My criticism is there is no clear instructions on how to use them on either Service seats or Cineworld website.
Glasgow
I would use again and just redeem vouchers at the cinema.

Appalling

Appalling. Like many others I ended up paying more than I would if I’d booked with Odeon direct. Defence Discount should drop them immediately.

Odeon charged extra premium at checkout!

I have just bought tickets to use at Odeon Luxe. (Paid just over £16 for x2 adult tickets which is cheaper than it would have been buying direct from Odeon).
I added the code on the Odeon site, and odeon charged me a further £10 per seat, causing the total price to be more than it would have been if just buying direct from Odeon.
I have used Service Seats before and always got a good deal…. I always check to make sure there’s not a cheaper seat direct through odeon before I buy with service seats.
But today, it was as if Odeon Luxe have stopped honouring the deal and charged a further premium to ensure maximum cost was paid!!
Im so annoyed!

No option to reject their Google…

No option to reject their Google Analytics. Read the terms and conditons relatinf to their cookies. Seriously creepy the information the collect and share.

Also, the process of adding the vouchers needs to be streamlined. Just seems like a data harvest for a minor discount.

Avoid!

Would leave a zero if I could

Would leave a zero if I could. More expensive buying the vouchers than buying direct with Odeon. Have to say customer services were quick to get back to me, but simply informed me that the issue is with Odeon for adding on too high a booking fee. Very fine small print and not at all clear .
Avoid at all costs, total con.

Utterly hopeless and unhelpful

Unfortunately, you can't leave a zero star review. Odeon tickets more expensive when you factor in the service seat voucher cost - their get out is something in the T&Cs about check local pricing etc - who does that? Completely disingenuous. So moral of this story, check the ticket prices direct first, then compare the price with the added cost of service seats vouchers etc or just save yourself the hassle and bypass them completely.

Do not select your ticket type and it should work!

Vouchers were easy to buy. However, no instructions how to add when booking tickets. I kept selecting the required seats and adding the vouchers which said £.00. You need to add the vouchers then DO NOT select seats. Go straight through to the seat allocations and there will be nothing to pay other than the booking fee. I saved around £8.oo. It was a real pain working this out but now I know , I will use it again.

Not actually a saving/more hassle than worth

Used via Blue Light Card. Usually these ‘to get your discount, visit this website, choose your options, get a voucher, pay for voucher, sell your soul’ etc etc deals sound as they are - not worth it. For the actual good deals, they just give you a discount code instead of all that hassle.

I found out after going on to the Odeon booking that it was actually cheaper to buy an adult and child ticket together than use their voucher so it actually cost me more.

I wouldn’t bother, it’s a garbage saving for the hassle. No one wants your ‘buy a voucher’ thing but I’ll take those ‘buy a voucher’ ‘discounts’ as a red flag next time.

Definitely not a scam

Had a brilliant experience have only used it for Cineworld never had no problem I wish they give you a QR code instead of written code just to be quicker but no problem I've only used it for the exact cinema that I said I was going to use I wouldn't expect it to work in any other cinema also do it separate from any other purchases have used over 10 times only had one issue and that was purchasing items at the same time so do separately
