Poor quality zip

Poor quality zip, disgraceful customer service.
They delayed responding to my emails and kept putting me off.
After some time, I could not leave a review on their product.... I reckon this is a tactic they use: "Please contact us before leaving a review if you have an issue". They delay customers, so you can't leave a review.
How can these people sleep at night.

Amazing experience

I have only just seen other peoples reviews and I can say I had a complete opposite experience.

I have only just got into bikes and the staff member on the phone was very helpful and got my stuff delivered quite quickly.

Have also since been into the store numerous times since then as well. Staff & Products are good quality

Poor online service with other companys getting the goods to me the following day

Again yet another person that should have read the reviews, It took a month no correspondance or tracking # then another two weeks of many phone calls and emails after I officially cancelled the order to receive confirmation of a refund, they got an extra star because at least the person who i did speak to was polite even though they were no help.... after ordering from another gold Coast company the goods were here after 2 days which leads me to believe this company hadn't even ordered the gold............don't buy online from them

Oh Dear...Guess this one is a life lesson!

"Definitely Thiefs" Wish i had seen these reviews before purchasing a new full face helmet through their online store. Now I am on the same journey as the reviews mention. Been two weeks already with no action, and the purchase process said quick dispatch. No customer service line to call as it goes dead after holding. No reply to emails. Hope they sleep well at night........quality people.

Leather Shark business model

I bought x3 things online with them more than 5-6 weeks ago, paid express mail for delivery. Communication was so poor, no tracking number, hardly any email/ text/ call, didn't know that there was no stock after 3 - week, after multiple calls, then I tried to cancel, I emailed, the store sent them anyway, though I bought with another seller. I informed them that I wanted refund, I sent them back, I waited, no refund. Today I found out, my money becomes their "store credit", stealing my money, despite that I refused to buy anything again from them, they put my money back to their store, store credit and they don't really care. So they received the goods I returned, they were perfectly fine, unpack them, put them back online or in store and re-sell. That's called Leather SHARK, sit right in Brisbane, Australia.

I refused to have anything to do with them- severe lack of communication, as a customer I have no trust putting any money in any of their goods, none of it made or manufactured by them, all goods are from others, they just have to re-distribute, sell with consumer confidence, being trustworthy, open, communicate effectively, but at the end of the day, putting customers' money back to their pockets and they don't necessary deliver, especially one I paid with A$25 express. There are lot of examples and concern online. Don't trust google review either.

Went in to the store on 21/12/25 to…

Went in to the store on 21/12/25 to look at purchasing a new helmet for myself and my wife .We were fitted and ordered and paid for 2 helmets which were not in stock .We were surprised by how little stock they have instore .It is now 12/01/25 and we have not heard a word from them and have tried emailing them and calling them with no response .
My previous experiences with this store have been ok but this time it is terrible and I wont be purchasing from them again .
It looks like I will have to travel down there to the store again and I wouldnt want to be the person that has to deal with me as I am not happy at all with the poor service and communication

ORDER NEVER RECEIVED AND NO REFUND - We ordered a set of bluetooth intercoms…

We ordered a set of bluetooth intercoms - in October 2025. Never received. Phoned and was told that they hadn't had them in stock for quite some time. Requested $$ back - and was told, we will have the manager phone. Manager never phoned. Phoned again and actually got the manager, who said, that's very strange - I will have to get the accountant to phone you. Accountant never phoned. Now it goes through to an american message bank system to say - We're busy, we'll call you back. Have phoned several times and emailed. Not happy - steer clear.

LIARS and THEIVES

I ordered and paid for Express post for a set of brake pads, exactly 2 weeks ago and still have not got them.
They are LIARS and THEIVES, They told me last week that they posted them, yet Australia post have said they haven't posted them yet as they have only just provided a tracking number.
Every time I called them they tell me that the brake pads were sent.
Again, LIARS and THEIVES
I asked them why did I pay extra for express post, and told me to blame Australia post.
I asked for money back on my express postage costs and they said it wasn't their fault, again liars and thieves
These people are very untrustworthy and highly recommend you DO NOT use them, they will lie to you and rip you off.

I had a terrible experience with Shark…

I had a terrible experience with Shark Motorcycle Leathers & Accessories. I placed a $200 order including two tyres, and after a week with no updates I had to chase them. Communication was painfully slow, with emails taking 2–3 days for each reply, and no way to reach them by phone. Eventually, they told me my order was blocked because of an unexpected $80 “bulk fee” for tyres – something never mentioned during checkout or payment, only hidden deep in their policies. When I asked for a refund, they initially refused and offered only store credit. After nearly three weeks of back-and-forth, I finally forced them to honor their own policy and give me my money back. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust this store at all. If you need tyres, avoid the headache and go to Tyres4Bikes instead – excellent service and free shipping.

Over priced for low quality items

Over priced for low quality items, no proof they meet the advertised CE safety ratings, not showing documentation or evidence eof same in supplied garments.
Garments themselves are of cheap make, premium price point for items that tear, peel and show signs of damage just from a few uses. Motocap rating shows the true quality of these garments, and with the owner of this company taking more than 2-3 weeks to respond to queries or requests for refunds. The customer service of this business is equivalent to the quality of their goods, avoid buying from this store. Sub par quality at exceptionally high prices with no guarantee you'll even get what you ordered.

SHOP IN PERSON ... ONLY

First time customer, who unfortunately fell for the marketing and didn't check recent reviews! Pretty good website and ordering was easy. That's the only good bit. Items took 5 business days to arrive despite us having overnight mail from their location. Packaging was appalling - 2 of the 3 clothing items had no packaging at all ... just chucked into a thin plastic mailing bag which had a couple of decent holes poked into it by the time we received it.

But worst of all ... their sizing chart. I truly wish I'd never looked at it. We have been the same sizes for many years, but looking at the measurements on the chart we had to go down up to 4 sizes in 1 case, or we'd be wearing stuff dragging on the floor behind us. When we receive the gear we couldn't even get the fastenings to meet each other, let alone do them up. Had we have ordered what we know our sizes to be it's likely we would have been fine. This is INEXCUSABLE when you run a mail order service. Either make your chart accurate, or remove it.

We emailed them expecting them to send replacements pending our return of the gear - as more reputable retailers have done for us in the past, but 4 days later we got a 1 sentence disinterested response telling us to fill out a return form to begin the process. God only knows how long this "process" will take, but based on the recent reviews of others ... it'll be a while. If at all. Let's remember this issue was 100% caused by a hopelessly inaccurate sizing chart after all.

But no ... we are going to travel there to the store at our cost and will not leave until we have gear that fits ... which will likely be the sizes we know we are! We are not interested in paying our return postage, and likely their return postage as well, and can't risk another 5 business day delay (after the one day that our forward postage will take) and damage from inadequate packaging again.

Given the several poor factors at play here this seems to be a business best avoided. This will be our last interaction with Shark Leathers. And a word of warning for mail orderers ... disregard the sizing chart. Order the size you know you are. Assuming you want to deal with this lot at all ...

Originally this review was given one star. This rating STILL STANDS for the online ordering/size chart experience. However when we finally visited the store we're compelled to adjust the score upwards. The staff were absolutely lovely, and had one of the most delightful little babies we've ever seen. Moral of the story ... SHOP IN PERSON. And yes, one of our items required a step up FOUR SIZES to fit ... confirming again that their sizing chart is made-up nonsense. Also there is zero care/washing instructions, country of manufacture or fabric type label on 2 of our "protective" flannel shirts ... which I was under the impression was at the very least an expected protocol in Australia. No guidance on the website either. These are advertised as having "Kevlar" lining, but since part of the licensing arrangements of Kevlar gear is that labelling must specify the inclusion of the product and its trademark, I have very serious concerns about the authenticity of this. I'd just LOVE the folks from ACL to scrutinise this business ...

Worst experience with these guys

Worst experience with these guys. Bought a helmet that was in stock, no shipment details after nearly three weeks! So hard to contact and practically impossible to phone (goes through to a text line and then they just never respond to you). When I finally spoke to someone he couldn't give me any indication when the helmet would be dispatched so I requested a refund which I thought was only reasonable at that point. He was super sarcastic about it but agreed to "ask about that" for me. No response. I eventually had to raise a incident with NSW Fair Trading as I honestly didn't know what else to do. Next day they dispatched the helmet. So yeah, just buy what you need elsewhere, I certainly won't be shopping here again. Plenty of other places more worthy of your business.

Blunt customer service

Blunt customer service replies, horse and cart despatch / delivery speed and they use Sendle as their courier who are a poor delivery company. My parcel was marked as for delivery today and it just didn’t turn up. Shark Leathers also do not offer refunds, only vouchers. I won’t be using these lot again.

Do yourself a favour before buying from this company—go to any search engine and search “Shark Leather reviews.” I wish I had done that first.

WARNING ⚠️ If you purchase from them and are unhappy with your product, don’t expect a refund. Instead, you’ll be offered store credit, meaning your money stays with them.

Here’s my experience: I bought a pair of riding protective jeans that were on promotion and came with protective padding. I ordered a size 32 (my usual size), but they didn’t fit. I called and was told they’d send me a size 34 if I returned the size 32 and the padding. I questioned why the padding had to be returned since the issue was only with the jeans, but they insisted it was part of their process. I was assured I’d receive the padding back with the new size.

To make things worse, I had to pay for return shipping and then pay shipping again to receive the replacement pants.

When the size 34 jeans arrived, the padding was missing. I called them again, and they told me the promotion was no longer running. If I wanted the padding, I’d have to buy the padding or the best they can do is give them to me at half price plus pay for the postage—despite having bought the jeans while the promotion was still active and came with the padding

I explained that my initial issue was simply a sizing problem, and I shouldn’t have had to send the padding back in the first place. They said they’d look into it, but I never heard back. Gladly taking the L and never deal with these guys again.

Avoid this company at all costs. Their customer service is frustrating, and they do not honour their promotions. ✌

Total lack of Customer Service/Ethical trading

Do not purchase S9 helmet intercoms from this company. I have returned 3 intercoms now and none have been returned so I am out of pocket roughly $400 odd.
Customer Service used to be really good but this saga has been ongoing since October 2023.
I have previously purchased from Shark Motorcycle Leathers and Accessories with no issues at all. That all changed with the issue that I now have with them.
I purchased a set of S9 Helmet intercoms and after a year or so, one was returned for warranty repair. The intercom was repaired/replaced under warranty and returned.
A couple of months later the second intercom failed so I returned it in October 2023.
On the 6th of Feb 2024, I sent an email enquiring where my intercom was/how it was progressing, I received the automated reply of up to 5 days to contact me. In the meantime I purchased another S9 as they were back in stock and I needed to be able to communicate with my pillion passenger (I figured always good to have a back up anyway)
After 2 months the intercoms failed and would only emit a high pitched noise. I returned both of those to the company address listed. I still hadn't had a response to the email inquiry.
On the 16/04/24, I phoned the company and spoke with a representative who told me he would pass it onto the manager, I forwarded the original email again as requested.
On the 13/06/24, I phoned the company and spoke with another representative who told me that he would speak to the boss and get back to me, I forwarded the original email again.
I did not receive any contact from Shark Motorcycle Leathers and Accessories and so on the 15/07/24 I forwarded the original email back again requesting to be contacted with some for of resolution.
Today the 26/07/24, I decided to write a review of my experience.
