Very odd and negative experience
To be clear, this is a review of practices and communication not a treatment received.
I read the website fully and believe I understood it. Still do. I Had productive and good comms with Sharon up till the night before a free consultation.
I missed this due to a ruptured ovarian cyst. When I got back to Sharon, I offered to show her proof, pay for her time even tho the consultation was free and pay for the impending appointment. As we’d booked two in. A consult and a treatment day.
She got back to me to say her policy is to decline anyone in future who has missed a free consultation and assured me this was on the pre-appointment notes I received and on her website.
I looked and it was not on the pre appointment information at all. It said something else. And it was not on the website either. on the website it actually said a deposit would be required in future. Not at all what she claimed. Which I found very odd that she’d lie about.
So when I checked, I’d actually went above and beyond her actual advertised policy, and offered to pay for the free consult as well as the next one.
So a combination of the militant approach lacking in understanding that things can do so go wrong, and the lying to me, well, for me this is a major red flag and I’m actually glad I didn’t let her touch my face now. Whether skilled or not, a dishonest person who lies like that and is as extreme and lacking in understanding about something going wrong, isn’t a person I could trust. The world simply doesn’t operate like clockwork all the time. It’s very hectic and nuanced and real life can be messy. If being compensated above the norm isn’t sufficient, to me that suggests a person is unreasonable among other things.
I intend to report her to H.I.S as upholding honesty and integrity in public facing business is so important. Especially one where people are in vulnerable positions like a treatment. Dishonesty is so important to flag to inspectors.
I also feel it’s important for potential would be patients to consider. These behaviours are never a good thing.
If she was simply too busy or didn’t want a new client for any other reason she should have been honest with me instead of lying about her policies and procedures. She doubled down on the lie by saying it had been in place for years so there’s no chance I misunderstood her.
