Thank you for the query. For some reason the Trustpilot alert system failed us, so please accept our apologies. Normally our response time is much faster than that, as you'll see from responses below.
Crazing is a relatively rare phenomenon that can happen to any ceramic sink. No manufacturer has yet developed a technique to entirely eliminate it, but the incidence is very low in Shaws sinks. Crazing, where it occurs, does not affect the sink’s performance by the way. We do replace sinks that suffer from crazing if they are covered by our warranty (purchased after 1/1/17). The first step is to contact the retailer that supplied your sinks, and they should assist you with the claim. If you have any problems, please contact our Customer Services team at Darwen on 01254 775111. Once again, apologies for the slow response, and for the problems you're having with the sinks. Excellent customer service

Very impressed by the customer service at Shaws of Darwen. We purchased some wastes to go with our beautiful Shaws of Darwen sink, and a couple of parts went missing (our fault, not theirs). Sandra in Customer Services has been incredibly helpful and quickly arranged replacement parts with no hassle. We're delighted with our sink and the overall service received!

Highest level of customer support

We had a double butlers sink from Shaws on which the glaze crazed. I was rather anxious when I rang them to explain the problem as I fully expected to be brushed off and told it was my problem, but they could not have been more helpful. Our sink has now been replaced and they dealt with all the associated costs, as well as replacing an additional part which our plumber broke in the process of fitting the new sink.
An exceptional level of customer support for which I am hugely grateful.

Spare part arrived broken

Spare part arrived broken, sent another but took time because of covid.
Got there in the end and have to say polite and helpful service at all times.

Seemingly poor quality

I have a Shaw Original Kitchen sink and I have never seen a sink that loses its finish so easily. The base is marred with spots from normal/light usage. I would have a hard time recommending this sink to anyone.

I use Bar Keepers regularly and we also have a sink base protector. Don't know what else to do. And the sink was installed before the lifetime warranty came into effect so I guess one just looks at poor quality daily. This apron front sink is an expensive sink and it is only seven years young. I guess quality was compromised somewhere.

Any ceramic sink can be marked by, for example, a heavy metal pan, and we recommend products such as 'Bar Keepers Friend' to keep your sink in good condition. However, if crazing is developing within the glaze, this may be covered by the Shaws warranty. Have you discussed the issue with your retailer?

Delevery delay

Ordered sink mat in November with the expectation it would be received in time for Christmas.
It didn't - and i had to chase to find out what was happening.
To be fair, the CS representative, identified my order and explained that delay was due to a supply issue abroad.
Mat eventually turned up a couple of weeks later...
Just think that when the product was delayed ( and the delivery date originally offered had passed), then a contact to advise me of the issue would have been welcomed.
Now I have eventually received it, i can't fault the product

Discontinued a strainer plug

Discontinued a strainer plug so that the whole waste fitting has to be replaced at a cost of £73 plus a plumber - unacceptable commercial manipulation.....

Shaws has been around for 125 years, and we change things very rarely. Many of our sinks have been in production, essentially unaltered, for over a century. Unfortunately change can't always be avoided. We had to find a new supplier for our waste kits around 10 years ago, and this also brought a design change. The new basket strainers are very high quality, and should last a very long time.

sink mats

The Shaw of Dawson sink mats are very high quality, soft and endurable and I have been using them for years. Unfortunately this time, the order took more than 5 weeks to arrive. By the time of delivery I had left for my Christmas vacation. Fortunately, one of my neighbors accepted the delivery on my behalf - but it could easily have gone wrong.
