Some administrative muddle but easily sorted. Very helpful sending me a coat to try for size before having one made but it was so lovely I kept it! My daughter bought some material to have her beautiful wedding dress made and we both felt amazing on the day.

I had seen Shibumi at Hampton Court flower show about 3 years ago and fell in love with their clothes. When I knew that my daughter was getting married I knew that Shibumi was where I would start my search for an outfit. I booked a visit to see them in Gloucestershire and I was able to try on numerous jackets, dresses and colour combinations. The hard job was narrowing down my options! My measurements were taken and after a month or so I decided on my outfit. From start to finish the service was excellent, always helpful and my outfit arrived beautifully packaged and absolutely perfect. The jacket in particular is so versatile as it can be dressed up or down for any occasion and has been much admired. Thank you Shibumi!

I love my jumpsuit from shibumi...fits perfectly and looks amazing! Ive taken it on holiday and worn it to weddings, it's my favourite thing in my wardrobe.
I bought a Shibumi dressing gown and my first impression when opening the package was that it looked exactly like the pictures online. It had been well represented. The colours and size were just as described. After two weeks, one of the belt loops pulled away from the seam, not because of duress but because the stitching had not caught hold of enough fabric, it was in the raw edge which just pulled away. I contemplated returning the garment but thought I would repair it myself and continue on. After about 4 months of light use with the utmost care of my beautiful gown, the material started pilling under the arms and around towards the front, it began to look used like an old favourite wool sweater. I compared the material to a silk & cashmere pashmina shawl I have had for a number of years, the fabrics are similar but the gown feels less durable and appears to be of less quality. To continue wearing the gown, I reversed the pilled side. Within months the fibres making up the actual strands were breaking giving the garment a woolly look and sadly, the appearance of a garment worn beyond its age. I am disappointed with the whole experience. My daughter exclaimed her delight when she saw the gown as new, and said one day she might like to have one for herself. I have discouraged her because quite frankly, the quality and workmanship are inferior as one would expect to receive at that cost. I cannot recommend anyone buy this product.

I’ve just arrived home from work and my Avani coat has been delivered from Shibumi. I am so pleased with it. When I went to the studio in Horsley in July I so enjoyed trying on the different coats (for my son’s wedding in January) but wasn’t entirely sure I had made the right choice given all the gorgeous styles and colours. I needn’t have worried. I love the coat and it looks absolutely perfect with my dress.
The quality and fit is fabulous. A fantastic experience all round.
Always my ‘go to’ option for any special occasion. I have just purchased my 4th Shibumi coat and, as ever, it is exquisite. Ruth and Sophie have such an eye for styling, the tailoring is perfection and the fit is second to none. I just know that, like the three coats beforehand, this will become a wardrobe stable after its debut for my grandsons christening.
I ordered a dressing gown from Shibumi in November 2018, which was delivered in December, so 8 months ago. It was to be a Christmas present from my husband who is incapacitated by a long-term illness. The gown is supposedly made from silk and cashmere, but there is no care or fabric content label on the garment, which I understand is a legal requirement. This might be because it is reversible, but the Shibumi label is sewn in, despite this. The design of the gown is very attractive. However, a short while ago, I noticed that the fabric has lost some of its horizontal fibres half-way down the back, right in the centre where there is a vertical line in the fabric. I then noticed, on closer examination of the gown, that the fabric was pulling away from the vertical band down the front just below waist level. I do not wear the gown every day and have worn both silk and cashmere garments for years, most of which have given me many years of wear. My last dressing gown was pure cashmere and lasted me over 10 years. I have written to Shibumi about this problem, but, like the previous reviewer, have been treated as if I have misused the gown, which I have not. They have offered me a discount on a new gown, but, having paid over £200 and after only 8 months, I feel I deserve a replacement. My last email stating this has been ignored. Despite quoting the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Shibumi refuse to accept that the garment is faulty/not fit for purpose. (Indeed it had a fault on the front on delivery which I decided not to complain about, but now wish I had). Shibumi say they are a small business. I ran one also, but would never have treated my customers the way I have been treated by Shibumi, who continue to imply that I have not taken care with my dressing gown, which is basically unwearable after only 8 months and I have not even worn it on a daily basis.

I just couldn’t find anything I liked in the shops to wear for a wedding. I found Shibumi online and bought a perfect, midnight blue silk jacket. It is absolutely stunning and was much admired when I wore it. Since then I’ve visited Shibumi’s stand at the Hampton Court flower show and ordered two more pieces which have just arrived. I can’t recommend Shibumi more highly. The staff really know and love their stock, pieces are beautifully made, the materials are sumptuous with that expensive-looking but discreet sheen of high quality silk and clothes arrive carefully wrapped in tissue paper with an email and text to say they have been sent. It’s wonderful to discover a site with clothes that don’t just suit you if you’re tall, young and slim but also flatter those of us who are older and plumper! There is a style to flatter any age or shape.
I was introduced to Shibumi by a friend and I couldn't be more delighted with the purchasing experience or the finished product, a lovely jacket, which I shall take great pleasure in wearing. I can't recommend Shibumi highly enough and I shall certainly shop with them again.
Fantastic clothing. I have ordered 2 long coats, both turned out beautifully. A pure pleasure dealing with this company - all the way from Alpharetta, Georgia! Thank you!
