My love for antique wax seals was borne out of my father's initial collecting of these remarkable objects more than 35 years ago. This passion for collecting was not a new part of my father's life, having collected Scottish provincial silver for many years prior to this. However, our joint passion for seals has created a wonderful collection which was the subject of a book published in 2012 entitled The Matrix Collection. This book is still in print and available on these pages and is testament to some of the most interesting British seals in the collection. Sadly, with the passing of my father in 2021, the time has come to find new homes for much of the Matrix Collection. This offers a wonderful opportunity for fellow-collectors and those just interested in single items to purchase seals that, in many case, have already been researched and the history come to life. I hope you enjoy looking through the pages of this website and the many fascinating aspects that wax seals and seal related items can offer.
