SignalRGB is great, but can mess up your computer.

SignalRGB is a really great app for customizing your RGB lights. However, it always asked me for administrator permission for the “best results,” which made me a bit concerned. After two days of using the app, everything worked fine, but on the third day the RGB on my RAM didn’t change it was basically stuck. I decided to restart my computer, and once I did that, it took me straight to the BIOS menu and said, “No bootable device was found.” At first, I thought it was XMP because this issue had happened before. I turned XMP off, but the same issue appeared, so I decided to reinstall the BIOS battery, and it worked. Once I logged into my account, I decided to delete SignalRGB to see if the same problem would happen again. I turned my computer on and off several times, and the issue didn’t happen again. Overall, SignalRGB is great, but it isn’t worth it for just a few LED lights.

Shameless scammers offering a worthless product

Imagine creating a domain name clone of a FREE competitor to your product trying to steal their traffic in a phishing scam because your paid product isn’t doing well enough for you. Imagine then thinking an “honest” Reddit post saying sorry about that would make everything right.

Shameless company shipping an awful product whilst undergoing scummy tactics to turn a profit. Use OpenRGB instead, better utilisation and less scumbag behaviour from the owners.

Worst RGB software EVER. AVOID!

I've tried the app multiple times and everytime I do, it breaks something. It has completely ruined some of my fans (the rgb glitches every now and then) even though I completely uninstalled the app trough RevoUninstaller.

I gave the app another chance today and my experience was horrible as expected and now that I uninstalled the app again my keyboards RGB went black (Wooting 60HE) and it refuses to go back to normal because "A third party RGB SDK app is currently controlling the RGB. If you want to control it in Wootility, close the third party app"

This has to be considered as some sort of virus. I cannot revert the damage it has done and I do NOT want to factory reset my PC.

Great app, it removes the "need" for bloatware apps

TLDR: It's a great app that deserves no less than 5 stars.

Like the title says, this app removes the need for standard bloatware such as MSI Center (Mystic Light), iCUE, and Razer Chroma, especially for RGB control. It makes my startup much smoother since I no longer have to wait for all those individual apps to load. Another plus is that you can even set up your macros here if needed!
I haven't tried the cooling or other options yet (as I use FanControl and am happy with my current, painstakingly created settings) but I can see that the developers put a lot of thought into this app. You could potentially use just this one app instead of separate software for every hardware brand in your system.
I should mention that I don't use the built-in startup settings because the app needs to run as Admin to control my RAM's RGB, and Windows often blocks Admin apps from starting automatically. Instead, I created a simple task in Task Scheduler to run it with highest privileges at user login. If you do the same, keep in mind that you should delay the task by at least 30 seconds (1 minute is better); otherwise, SignalRGB might try to connect to your hardware before it is fully "ready."
I hope the developers will implement "officially integrated game RGB settings" in the near future, similar to native game integrations, rather than just the screen-reactive presets. I have the Pro version and tried them out, but I often prefer developer-made game profiles.
All in all, this is a great app that I will be using from now on instead of juggling multiple brand-specific programs.

Possibly the worst app I’ve ever had to deal with. Didn’t want to use it so I went to go uninstall it. It’s very clear. They don’t want you to…hidden files hidden drivers partner files. What the fk? all in the free version? Stupid. If you want to uninstall this crap be prepared to sit there for a while.

If i could give it zero stars I would

Update and I am posting this to prove my bad review, which was posted days before their response and will state that all fans work fine with just the fan software just fine but wanted to get more options and more cool lighting effects.

Hello,
It seems one of your hubs is failing; I would say you are reaching the USB bandwidth limit and it's being overloaded. Have you tried moving USB connections around?

I was hopeful that this would be awesome because of the limited lighting options from Lian Li.I bit the bullet and got the pro version of signal rgb. The program does not recognize all of my fans and leaves some fans out of the lighting themes. Its also weird as well that it recognizes my Logitech (g19 x light speed)wireless keyboard but does not recognize the mouse (g502x plus) unless its wired. Its frustrating when you reach out for troubleshooting its always well its your stuff that doesn't work. Is the fact that everything is to new and not old? All troubleshooting never results in a fix or solution and now I am out money.I never have a problem paying for something that works and on paper signal rgb is better than other programs but in actuality its not. Its also a red flag that the 1 star reviews are greater than all of the positive reviews.

Been subbed to SignalRGB for years

Been subbed to SignalRGB for years, and yeah, sure, not everything worked first try every time, but man, what these guys pulled off with RGB is next-level stuff.
The effects are insane. I’ve used them for Apex, Diablo4, and now Arc Raiders, and my whole setup just looks sick.

Also love that I can check all my cooling and set up fan curves right inside the app, even for my AIO. Super handy.
Support? Top tier. My GPU isn’t even officially supported yet, but it still shows up and works flawlessly.

Honestly, I have no idea what the whiners on here are talking about. The software’s powerful, a bit complex at first maybe, but once you get into it, everything makes perfect sense.
Highly recommend it.

Company got greedy and didnt listen to users
Used SignalRGB for a while now and over the last 3 months its becoming a liability more than an effective rgb tool
App keeps crashing on open then says i have to log in as administrator to udownload updates
After update the only thing it recognises now is my keyboard
Ads everywhere and now its uses loads of RAM just to put purple on my keyboard.
I swear the ads are making this program run like shit and as ive noticed from the companies response here its never their fault its some 3rd party everytime.
I have uninstalled it and now i get 120fps instead of 60fps
Double the frame rate.
TLDR Dont use this software it used to be good now its realy bad and they want you to pay for the privilege

Sorry you had that experience! The admin prompt you saw could be related to your Windows or program settings (like "launch as administrator"), and device detection issues are usually caused by conflicts with other RGB software or due to using unsupported devices. We've made major performance improvements in recent updates that addressed the memory and stability issues you mentioned.

We do have minimal ads in the free version to support development, but they're designed to be unobtrusive and shouldn't impact performance. If you were seeing performance issues, that sounds like a bug worth investigating.

If you'd like to troubleshoot, feel free to submit a bug report too. Happy to help!

Garbage app, greedy developers

Used to be good, sucks a$$ now.

Ads everywhere, intrusive videos you can't pause or minimize, constant popups telling you to upgrade to pro, all this garbage takes up half the interface.

They've gotten rid of all the user friendly features of the app for some asinine reason. Free effects used to have their own tab. You could tell which effects you'd downloaded/installed just by hovering over the preview, and you could download effects with one click without leaving the menu. There used to be a wide selection of free, quality effects.

Now you have to scroll down to the bottom to get to the free effects, and you need to do it manually with the down arrow or mouse wheel because there is no goddamn scroll bar. You need to click on each effect now, which takes you to a different screen, to see if it's installed or if you want to install it. When you click back to the effects menu, it resets, so you must scroll down to the bottom again and click on the 'show more' button, which reveals the next 3 effects on that list. There is a 'show all' button, but it does the exact freaking thing as 'show more'. You need to keep spamming that button about 20 times until it reveals all the effects in that category. Now times that 20 by 10 or 15 or however many times you see an effect you want to check out.

When I finally saw an effect I liked, there was a 50/50 chance of it even downloading. I didn't even get an error message when it wouldn't download. Absolutely nothing telling me why I can't download an effect I had a year ago. Effects that worked perfectly before no longer download, even though my rig is the exact same as it was back when I first used SignalRGB. Most of the free effects I used before won't even download now and I have no idea why.

It's obvious the developers stopped giving a rat's a$$ about their users. They're only interested in milking every single cent from the userbase that they can.

I used to recommend SignalRBG to anyone looking for a fun and user friendly software for their lighting. I can no longer make that recommendation.

Switching back to OpenRBG. It's not as fancy compared to SignalRPG, but at least it has none of SignalRBG's bull$hit.

I understand your frustration with the recent changes to SignalRGB. To speak to your points:

Effects Library Navigation: We're actively working on UI improvements to both the Discovery and Library pages to make navigation smoother and more intuitive.

Download Issues: Effects failing silently without error messages is a bug that shouldn't be happening. If you're willing, please contact support so we can investigate why certain effects won't download for you.

Monetization: We have Pro prompts and promotional elements to sustain development while maintaining a strong free tier. We're continuously refining the interface based on user feedback.

If you're open to troubleshooting the download failures, we'd genuinely like to help resolve what's not working in your experience. Our support team is available through Discord, our website, and through bug reports in the app!

I understand your concern! Seeing security warnings is always alarming when downloading new software.

What you're experiencing is common behavior from Windows Defender and antimalware programs when encountering software that doesn't yet have widespread installation numbers. These warnings aren't indicating that SignalRGB is malicious, they're flagging it because it's less commonly downloaded compared to major applications.

As more users download and install SignalRGB, these warnings become less frequent. Windows SmartScreen and similar tools use reputation-based detection, so newer or niche software often triggers these alerts even when completely safe.
SignalRGB is legitimate RGB lighting control software used by thousands of users. If you're still concerned, you can:

- Check our official website and verified download sources
- Review our community on Discord where you'll find active users
- Scan the installer with VirusTotal for additional verification

We take security seriously and understand these warnings can be off-putting. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out through our support channels.

Worst Software ever

Worst Software ever. Claiming that a device works (Logi G915X) but it doesn't. It does not just "not work" it even corrupted the whole firmware on the keyboard. In addition they tried to implement a fan control tool in there software which is completely useless and only interfere with everything else.

We’re aware of the high memory usage issue and are actively working with the team behind our rendering system to get it fixed. This is an unfortunate error with an upstream service used with SignalRGB and not directly related to our software.

In the meantime, restarting the applicate will reduce usage, especially after long sessions. You can also try switching to less complex effects to lower resource load. We understand this is frustrating and appreciate your patience while we work towards a long-term fix.
